TV star a runaway success

MOVE over Megan Gale and Jennifer Hawkins - the store wars are a battleground for this year's reality runway stars.

Despite being bumped for the top prize in this year's Australia's Next Top Model series, New South Wales Central Coast beauty Stephanie Hart had the last laugh yesterday, scoring one of the first spots in the prestigious David Jones collections show.

The 16-year-old, who placed second to controversial winner Alice Burdeau on the Foxtel fashion competition this month, impressed the real fashion world judges at a casting call for the retailer's summer show on August 7.

While Burdeau will get her chance later this month, two other cast-offs from the show also entered the "walk off".

Jordan Loukas, who finished in the final three on the show, was being considered along with the other 100 hopefuls who turned up at DJs Elizabeth Street store yesterday.

But Top Model diva Paloma Rodrigues won no friends by turning up over an hour late.

Hart will get the chance to walk alongside Gale during the VIP fashion event, while Myer hopefuls who also successfully auditioned yesterday will join Hawkins on the catwalk.
