Anyway, I have briefly returned to the yoyogames forum to comment on something that upsets me greatly. And that is that the staff pick is not a terribly meaningful title anymore. What has bought me to this conclusion? 2Dcube's phazzon is the best example. Now, don't get me wrong here. I have great respect for the GM Provence of 2dcube. Karoshi and frozzd are some of my favorite games. But go play phazzon. It is a decent game, but not, in my opinion, worthy of being counted among the best 200-odd games on the site. Then take a hypothetical game, super skull tank wars. (sstw) now sstw is the best game you have ever played. Unfortunately, it is made by an obscure member and no mod ever plays it. It is never even recognized before it is downrated into the obscurity of below a 3.8. Now, at the same time, 2dcube comes out with a game that is almost, but not quite, as good as super skull tank wars. Because it is 2dcube, every moderator under the sun swarms it. It is worthy of staff pick And gets it. Now, I have seen this exact scenario play out several times. I just used 2dcube as an example. Of there really is a game called super skull tank wars, I didn't know. Anyway, my final message is to those who have the power to staff pick. Sure, go for karosi 3 and shot gun ninja v2. But every time you do, also search a random word in the games earch, like "bannana","explosion", or "mortia 2 the darthmarus insane shooter" Because every game is special in it's own way. Not counting the platform tutorial clones. ~~~Darthmarus~~~

(stories, poems, and essays are prefered to rants about feature systems, i just had to show the writing post format)
