Have any of you guys ever kept stingrays? If, you have what kind and post a picture! These creatures are pretty delicate since they cost a fortune and they need special gravel and tank mates that don't take his food. Thanks!

no, but i know some stuff about them. motoros are agressive, leopoldis are wind caught with hook and line, a tank of about 200 gallons that is almost square from above and only about 12'' tall are ideal... and yeah they need very fine gravel or sand because the skin of their bellies is very soft

Saltwater stingrays not freshwater. Freshwater rays are peacuful and delicate.

actually that has nothing to do with it.

steve swam over the ray, then the camera man, trying to get a good shot, got too close and scared the ray, which instinctively whipped its tail around. it wasnt trying to attack steve...just defend itself.
and steve actually died after pulling the stinger out of his chest.

Stingrays are infact pricey. The lowest I have seen a Stingray was for $30 and it was for a Columbian Stingray. The more larger and more colorful stingrays are priced at a high rate since most of them are wild caught.
