I had a go at Hugo recently....gawd how laborious to have to type in commands and as for controlling Hugo, forget it. He's like a drunken sailor attached to a rather large helium balloon
Does anyone get tempted to drift away from all the fancy-pants graphics of the new gaming world and play Mario-type games? It has to be said that there are some real advantages to playing these simple, yet effective time-fillers. After a total glitch in my Indy game I even reverted to Bookworm - a word game. I'm also playing Bejeweled 2 which is not an old game of course but I am currently trying to reach level 18 in Classic mode to unlock another game variation. |

You won't believe what I'm playing again... Ape Escape It's so cheesy and so bad that it's a fun game. ![]() Random note - did Randy just delete his account?

Sonic Adventure - great Dreamcast classic! Still have it and lovin' it! ![]() To the Randy discussion, couldn't he just simply clear out his profile and change his name instead of deleting his profile? Just seeing "Deleted Profile" on the side of the board makes me want to look for the deleted profile even though I know who it is! |

I wouldn't class the games listed so far as "old". If you want old you should try playing classics like Jet Set Willy or the Dizzy series. Those were pure gameplaying gold, and they were ruthless too. But that's because it was back in the day of 8-bit graphics, the gameplay was what mattered then because the visuals were essentially nothing more than functional. I recently played through a couple of the Dizzy games myself (Treasure Island Dizzy & Fantasy World Dizzy), I used to love them when I was about 11 years-old and they still have their charm. |

Tomb Raider count as old? I still play Pong, Tetris, and a few others from time to time..... Lots of Tetris. I play the old Tomb Raiders a lot. Lot's of crash. (PS1) The new ones aren't very good. I hate them. Twinsanity was okay. But that's it. I gave up on the newest one. It's just so repetitive and boring. The comedy is funny in them, but still not worth playing.I'll hush now. I play more older games than new, I think. Edited by Tessa, Jan 22 2009, 09:37 AM.

The original Crash Bandicoot was the only one I ever played. And I'll agree that it was pretty good if a little easy to complete 100%. Never had any interest in the sequels though because I just got the sense that the series was being aimed at kids. |

There all good up in till Crash Tag Team Racing. The 4th one. But it's not too bad. Not my choice of the Crash series though. They're all aimed at kids, but the adults loved it just as much. Although I prefer the first one; Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, are very fun.

Ironic you should mention Crash Team Racing. That's what I've got on my mouse-mat, it was given to me by a Naughty Dog rep at a computer trade show I went to years ago. |

Oh really? That's odd.
Very ironic indeed.
I called it "Tag Team." Silly me. Haha. |

Crash Tag Team Racing was the PS2 sequel to Crash Team Racing, so it's a easy mistake. ^.^ I quite like Team Racing but I hate any Crash game from Crash Bash and onwards, they just lost their appeal.

Crash Bash was a big mistake! (I did like the bears on the ice thingy. It was funny.) I loved Team Racing when I was younger. I played with my brother a lot on it. But don't play it much any more. |
