Well, the new installation of the Trauma Center series, Under the Knife 2, is proving to be pretty well done. Too bad the translators are really bad at interpreting the characters though (one of the characters is actually a woman). Anyway, the Trauma Center series is also another Nintendo series I'd recommend. They have games for both the DS and the Wii so pick up one of those copies whenever you get the chance. I love Trauma Center: New Blood because not only does the story feature new techniques to use on patients but also has a more international root to the story so that it's not referring to just one location. Also I love Valerie, Markus, and Elena. Their friendship's develops really well and (what I consider) is the most mature in this series. The very first one's good. The main character Derek Stiles and I have the same birthday so I try to connect with his character as much as I can. He starts off very inexperienced in almost all the games in this series so it's great that in Under the Knife 2 we can see some of his professional side. Any fans? A fun debate would do just fine. Pray that they make another one! |

Which case was it? I still sorta have a problem with a certain guy too! I don't think he had a GUILT case though. But the Stigma ones from New Blood were HARD! It's a lot easier and more fun when you have a second person playing.

Happens to my hands... worse when you're handling a scalpel!
I was especially freaked out when there was one level where Angie couldn't recussitate a ten-year-old survivor of a car crash. First I had to use a defribulator then I had to take out a bulging piece of the windshield out of his myocardium (muscle part of the heart) and stitch the cut twice! There was another one where I had to do surgery in a dark tunnel using only a penlight and (when the penlight's batteries went out ) had to use my memory and a camera flash!I really hated the one where you had to do surgery on a time bomb! That made my hands shake!

I especially hate the screws (which is the first part of the level!) - three errors and you're dead! |

DS or Wii? Wii's definitely harder! DS - I can simply lounge back into my chair and pull the glass out with no problem! But what was really hard was dealing with the death of one of the best characters TC has ever had - Emilio Juarez. He's from Mexico and is introduced in UTK2. He was a Sinner (a young test subject for GUILT) but was saved by Derek and Angie. He dies at Elysium (a research hospital that works with Caduceus) while waiting for surgery. He said to Derek that he had GUILT antibodies and could last a bit longer than the other patients, yet that wasn't the case. That part made me cry and I couldn't pick up the rest of the game for a week. Derek takes it so hard!

One really strange thing I've noticed recently - have you ever noted that all of TC's final bosses always resides in the heart? [Altheia (Neo-GUILT/PGS) from TC UTK2, Cardia (Stigma) from TC NB, and Savato (GUILT) from TC UTK1/SO] I don't know why, but I really like Cardia's theme song. Altheia's is pretty epic! Savato needs something more dramatic, however... ![]() Version II of Cardia Theme (NB) Altheia's Theme - Severing the Chains of Fate (UTK2) |
