Funny (and at the same time harsh) photo comment!
The comments are pretty appalling...

I'm undecided. What I gather from the article is that Square Enix and Eidos will be merged meaning that, Eidos will still be present only in a different form. How does this improve anything?

I don't know what to think of them... I'm just praying that everything turns out good -- all I can do....

Edit:

I don't think I'd like the idea of a Japanese Lara.......

I feel that this wont turn out well. I hope that this will give TR the push that it needs to reclaim it's top spot, but doubt that's the case.

I'm thinking Obi-Wan - "always on the move"
Eidos moving to so many companies has clearly taken a toll on its income and time frame. A merger would be more ideal since Square has more of both things plus imagination. I highly doubt that Lara's going to be modified to the extremes, but I would like to keep open-minded on this one... though I do have some fears too. That can't be calmed that easily.

I'm undecided too. I am a fan of both TR and SE, but I feel that there are a lot of factors that maybe the articles aren't covering.

Who's been "pleading the fifth" eh?

I voted "I'm a fan - let's see what they can do".

Eidos has become too much of a liability and their track record seems to go downhill with each new release. While I have no idea what would happen to TR under SquEnix, I'm convinced they'd at least allow the developers the breathing space and resources they require. I'm all for it, I'm more for it than if someone like EA had bought them out.

We've just gotta play the old waiting game. But I'm kind of excited and enthused about it :D

I wish this thing had a way of changing votes.
I agree with you Spong. Square may have a better deal of experience and time than Eidos does, so it would be a perfect union. I am so excited, but I've gotta sit down and breathe first. I think I forgot to do that when I voted... Oh well. I'm a fan of both TR and SE so let's see what they've got up their sleeve! :D

I'm keeping cautiously optimistic about this, because I love both of them. I'm also glad of Square's lovely don't-believe-in-due-dates kind of thing going, they'll make it and test it to death before setting it off, so no worries about it being underdeveloped.

And somehow, I don't think Square is going to change our Lara.....so much. They are aware of how many fans there are (says it in the article) and they do know how to make fans happy.

So, I don't know. I'll sit back and watch quite happily.

That pretty much summarizes how I also feel. I like the fact that SE's got that casual yet test-crazy approach to their games. There's practically no room for underdevelopment or (if there's such thing as) overdevelopment. But it looks like there's no room for error either. The gaming bar's been set higher than ever. Let's see if SE knows how to limbo.

*laughs while sneaking into the shadows of the DJ box*

Well, Eidos has now officially stopped trading on the stock exchange. A moment's quite reverence please. As much as I hate Eidos for what they've done in the latter years of the series, they were still there at the start and it was them who gave Tomb Raider the chance to reach us in the first place.

Wow. I've just noticed that they were off the NYSE! But you're right, in a way Eidos was a mixed blessing. Without them, we probably wouldn't have known the series in the first place, especially in the US.

It feels like I've talked about something like this a long time ago.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Sailor Moon also had a similar thing. The voiceovers and crazy "kids show" edits from DiC made the series horrible, but without that no one else would've known shojo anime and people would've assumed that all anime is mature-themed. Sorry got off-topic, but I saw a slight connection here.
