Has anyone here played Sonic Unleashed? If so what do you think of it? I've almost completed it (I got to Dark Gaia and then I needed to turn my 360 off so I have to do the Eggman boss again! >.<) and I have to say that I've enjoyed playing it in most cases. The only problem I have is that there's too many Werehog levels and they're too long! If I wanted to do use combos and fight millions of creatures at once for over 20 minutes I would play God of War, but I don't; I just want to speed through levels! The Sonic levels are really enjoyable and the daytime music is great, so why did they add the Werehog to spoil everything!?! Sorry, this turned into a rant but I hope you understand why the Werehog levels make me so mad (especially in Eggman Land, they made it have a horrible camera and rubbish controls for the Werehog sections!). *Rants and rambles on in the distance*

I must be getting old. I read what you said and didn't understand a word of it
Sonic, for me, ended with Sonic & Knuckles back in the day of the Megadrive/Genesis. Actually, Sonic CD was the last of what I'd call true Sonic games. All the 3D offerings from Sega/Sonic Team/Yu Suzuki have been trite and technically flawed. I played Sonic Adventure & Sonic Adventure 2 and was I nothing short of totally disappointed. I lost interest in the franchise after those and have not followed it since. Shame really, the games used to be fantastic. |

I loved the classic Sonics (though I only played 1 and 2). I saw a video for this one and I was just mind boggled! 3D Sonic is like Miley Cyrus becoming a professional actress, it just doesn't happen! I saw a PS2 game in a shop the other day, where they combined all the Sonic classic games into one, and added some bonus unlockable levels. *Googles* Sonic Mega Collection. It looks fantastic. |

Me thinks you actually mean the Sonic Mega Collection Plus. There is a Mega Collection, but the Mega Collection Plus has more Sonic games. I should know, I've got it ![]() And it doesn't just look fantastic... |

Hmmm. Anyone think I would like Sonic? I'm a picky gamer.

Which Sonic game do you mean? We seem to be talking about all of the series now. ![]() The original 16-bit games (and gameboy versions) are great platform games, they're simple, fun and have no camera and control problems (due to being 2D); the 3D games however are kinda a mix-bag... You see, Sega try to make Sonic something it's not by adding weird plots and added gameplay; like I've said, they've included the God of War style Warehog levels to Sonic Unleashed which are boring and have a lot of frame rate and control issues (there's way too many glitches and the game slows down a lot when you're the Warehog >.< ). I quite like the Sonic Adventure series too, but I sometimes get annoyed at the camera (it usually goes crazy and you end up dying for no apparent reason! The same can be said for Sonic Heroes) and the useless added characters (Big the Cat I'm talking about you!). So your best bet is to get the classics either on PSN/Xbox Live or even better get Sonic Mega Collection Plus for the PS2, it's cheaper and as a lot of great Sonic games. ^.^ Wow, this is a long post! |
