Okay. I know all of you like Lara, so she is out of the picture.

Who is your favorite character? :)

Wow. Complicated! It's hard to pick one, but I can't say "vote for none" because I like almost all of these characters.

Zip - He's an awesome guy. According to his profile, he's also a professional chef. I wouldn't mind trying some of his dishes! :D
Anaya - She seems like a gentle character. I wish she didn't have so little lines.
Nishimura-san - He's really funny! If there were more Japanese puns, that would make my day!
Takamoto-san - I'm curious about the Yakuza underworld and especially how Lara and Shogo met. That line, "try begging for your life like the last time we spoke" makes me curious!

I'll do the others a bit later. Basically the Legend storyline could've been more developed. A few more flashback scenes would have helped greatly and if the gameplay was less linear it would have made its replay value exponentially higher.

Like Singstar, I find this really difficult. I'd choose more than one if I could ^_^ . I am very intrigued by Lara and Takamoto's history. I wanna know how Anaya escaped from that dig too (she was there, right?). I'd imagine she'd be quite a strong character if it had been developed more. Amanda was fine but not the best choice for a 'boss' enemy as she's too whiny. I see her more as a side enemy.

Same here. I don't get Rutland either. He has no direct motive of getting Excalibur in the first place other than getting a trophy to hang up in his room and have some sort of national pride (I'm an American myself yet he's a negative demonstration). So in a way I'm glad he's killed off.

But two question - First, what did Amanda do after getting out of the cave? (more so of how did she get out besides unlacing her shoe. She didn't have an easy way of getting out compared to Lara) and second, how did she get involved with a ridiculous guy like Rutland? (She could have picked better guys, but then again because he's dense with his pride so he would be easy to control. Who knew that she'd fall in love with him?)

Good questions. Parts of Amanda's back story are missing and certainly rely heavily on imagination. Through TR:U, we now realise that at some point she found and 'rescued' (a very loose term) Natla who informed her of Avalon, possibly as a way to get Amanda to find the artefacts she was after, also promising her the role of co-ruler? But how she got that far, or met Rutland and his interest in Escalibar is anyone's guess really. Perhaps Amanda's family are aristocratic like Lara's and already had connections to the Rutland family? Maybe the Everts are in business with the Rutlands?

Before we knew Natla was involved I always presumed that James Rutland was purely the financial support (along with the romance side). Maybe he simply was thinking of the rewards concerned, the riches he'd acquire through Amanda if she succeeded?

It really is intriguing and I was hoping for more of an explanation somehow to be woven into the story, but we must remember that TR is primarily Lara's 'story', so Amanda is secondary. / :offtopic:

Sorry if there are spoilers in here, but I can't see spoiler tags to use.

I quite liked Toru Nishimura and his behaviour towards Lara, he seemed cool and collected yet he knew how powerful Lara is (because of their last encounter).

He reminded me of TR1's Natla in a way...

I'm probably not making much sense right now, but it's hard to explain why I like a character who we never really knew much about.

As for Anaya, I think she was part of the group who didn't go to the tomb but were part of the dig's planning; I'm sure that it was mentioned that the people who didn't go down and Lara decided to leave the tomb alone so it could be used as a memorial.

I agree with you on that one Rai. (and I'll try and work out the spoiler tags) Those are really good theories. ;)

We seem to agree on a lot of things, lilhanhan. :D I love Nishimura! (maybe it's my natural-born attraction to Japanese stuff?) It seems that he was once a Yakuza himself. That cool, high, and rich nature is common among Yakuza (henchmen and the black suits are common, too). I also thought that Anaya was just part of the engineering section of the dig. She was outside the tomb during the flashback, remember?

I actually didn't see her in the flashback; I must look out for her next time.

Nishimura is still part of the Yakuza I believe, I think that's how he manages to steal artefacts and stuff without the law catching him...

He probably got it through a dodgy deal or something. ^.^;

I thought he still had connections with the Yakuza yet wasn't a part of them anymore. his prprofile said that besides his cool demeanor, on the surface he's a newspaper reporter. Then again, the bartender in the beginning of the level is a bit odd... If you look closely when you ask for Nishimura, he presses a button behind the bar. I'm guess he's one of his private henchmen. Maybe there's such a thing as subtle Yakuza because some of them are anything but subtle.

Ah! I've just realised something...

I'm getting confused with Shogo Takamoto!

*Now talking about the right person*

I still think that Nishimura is a great character for the same reasons as before (just forget about the Yakuza part, I got mixed up with the two character's personalities there). :$

It's okay. But then again, Nishimura has Yakuza connections so we can't forget about that! How else would he have invited Takamoto to come to the party - were they there just to entertain Nishimura with some of their fighting action while he munches some popcorn, drinks Ramune soda, smokes cherry-flavored Black Stones (I doubt he smokes), and carries a box of Men's (Dark Chocolate) Pocky?

RIP Alister - wish we knew him better.
I'm curious as to how Alister and Lara met. They're complete opposites (then again, that catchy phrase opposites attract has never been proven wrong before). Maybe a "mythological expert needed for dangerous tomb exploring" advert was released? (JK :P ) That or maybe Professor Eddington recommended him for the job (though he must have heard about him through rumors because Alister doesn't know him).

Yes, RIP Alister. God alone knows I wish Zip's gunshot was fatal and not yours.

As for how Lara & Alister met, he's a booksmart, I imagine she probably ran into him while researching something and hired him for his services.

I heard they met in a bar but I'm probably misinformed. I voted for Winston because he's been with us for all those years and I felt bad about using him for target practice in TR3.
