TAOM Judicial System; Clan and Jagex rules defined

It has come to our attention in light of recent events that our clan's government needs to be amended to protect clan member's rights, and the provide a clear outline of what is, and is not acceptable. This will be broken into two categories, soft rules, that come with a warning system, and hard rules, that we will have less tolerance for. This will be explained in greater detail below. Clan members should not view these changes as restrictions, rather they should be viewed as a fair protection system for all.

First and foremost, follow all Jagex rules. TAOM does not support any activities that fall outside of these set rules. They will be listed below, along with further explanation.

1) Advertising websites: Please do not advertise outside websites in the clan chat. We do not want any member of TAOM being led to unsafe sites that could result in their password being stolen, virus infections, ect.

2) Bug abuse: Please do not encourage the exploiting of any bugs within the clan chat, and feel free to submit a bug report to Jagex when you see any such bugs.

3) Encourage Rule Breaking. Encouraging the breaking of any Jagex rules is as bad as having committed the offense yourself. No such conversations will be tolerated in Clan Chat.

4) Language: This is doubly important, as one of TAOM's main goals is to provide our members with a respectful and relaxed atmosphere. Please keep PG rated at all times! This includes (but is not limited to): discussion of recreational drugs, sexually explicit language, solicitation, racism or other prejudice, threatening behavior, blackmail, trolling, and excessive swearing.

5) Macroing: No use of bots in game. It's that simple. Also, conversation concerning botting methods, automation tools, auto typers, ect will not be tolerated, and the offender will be subject to a kick, and possibly further action based on the outcome of the leader/council discussions.

6) Multiple logging: This one is pretty obvious. You cannot be in two places at once in real life, so don't do it in game!

7) Personal information: The exchanging of personal information within clan chat itself is not allowed. Outside of clan chat is strongly discouraged, but that is your decision based on the situation. For example a lot of the leaders and council use skype to communicate for administrative purposes. Players under the age of 18 should take extra care in this area to be sure to protect their identities from online predators, ect.

8) Real World Trading (RWT): TAOM has zero tolerance for these activities. This includes, but is not limited to; buying gold or items for Runescape, buying Runescape accounts, paying for favors XP wise on your account, ect. Offenders will be subject to immediate kick without warning, and further corrective actions based on leader/council discussions.

9) Scamming: Any actions that result in TAOM members accounts being stolen, or items lost via dishonest means, such as luring, will not be tolerated. Offenders will be subject to immediate kick without warning, and further corrective actions based on leader/council discussions.

10) Sharing: This section deals with account sharing. Clan members are not allowed to engage in any such activity. Offenders will be subject to immediate kick without warning, and further corrective actions based on leader/council discussions.

11) Staff Impersonation. Do not attempt to impersonate Jagex staff. This one is pretty much a no-brainer. Offenders will be subject to immediate kick without warning, and further corrective actions based on leader/council discussions.

This covers the Jagex rules. The next part will deal with TAOM specifics, such as kicking, banning, players's right to appeal, and be heard, and so forth. Also soft/hard offenses will be explained.

1) Kicking.
- For minor "soft" offenses, players should be given one warning to cease the offending behavior. If the warned party continues to disrupt chat, or engage in activity, the officers will do a temporary kick, and follow up with a report on the kick thread for council/leader discussion.

- For major "hard" offenses, a clan officer will use his or her personal judgment on how and when to kick, but it should be done as soon as possible, and the officer may employ tools such as muting clan to ensure that a peaceful resolution is found.

2) Soft/hard offenses explained.
- Soft offenses include: Language, advertising websites, multiple logging, bug abuse, encouraging of rule breaking. When any of these rules are broken, or are disrupting the clan chat, the offender will be subject to a warning, then a kick if he continues to engage in disruptive behavior . A discussion will occur between council and leaders on the facts of the situation, and how best to proceed. The offender will be allowed back into clan when the temporary kick period expires, but will still be subject to the outcomes of the leader/council decision. Multiple offenses could result in a ban vote, and depending on the facts of any given situation, a ban vote could come much sooner.

- Hard offenses include: Real World Trading, any form of botting, scamming, sharing, staff impersonation, sharing of personal information. Offenders of these rules will be subject to immediate kick without warning. Officers should seek to acquire evidence of the offense, and clan members are also encouraged to gather evidence as well, and turn this evidence over via the clan forums to the officer that dispersed the kick. Leaders/council will meet and discuss the facts of the situation, examine the evidence, and how best to proceed. The end result could be a ban vote, or restricted access to clan, depending on the facts of an individual situation.

3) Player's right to appeal and be heard by clan officers when a seek to understand conversation is happening.
- Any member of TAOM has the right if he or she so chooses to appeal or explain their own side of the story to council and leaders. This will be taken into consideration on any discussions or ban vote topics.
