Hello all, RON L here As one that has been involved in Water storage and use for some time, it comes to me how many seem to ingonore this ALL SO IMPOTRANT ITEM? They have a Gun safe full of the Most Modern rifles, Handguns and Shotguns Ditto Millions of rounds of each ammo, perhaps a Cupboard stocks full to the rafters with food, storage and common use? They often have 2-3 cars, as well as a 4 Wheeler in the garage, perhaps even a Boat or R.V.! Nothing wrong with having 'THINGS", of course. Then you ask them how much water do you have, for how long, for how many and how would you rplenish what you need and use? That's when you get the Ah's and OH's and suddenly they need to be some place else? Sound Familuar, I see water as so important as a part of the big 3, (Food, Waer and Shelter), I see so many have no clue how to do it, how much them need, where they can and do pu it? Many have some, but have no clue who will need it who much or how heavy water stored is? I know some folks have large tanks, others use Rain water catchment systems, but other have simply NOTHING, or WAY LESS THAN THEY NEED? Oh, so many ways to add and help in your water needs, tanks, water containers, Filters as wel as Catchment syatems to name a few, what how it works for you is really up to you? I prefer to rely on a few different ways and methoids to do so. I have of course some 1, 5 and lareger water containers and I do use them and add a few drops of bleach t each and rotate my use of them and my storage! I have a few different filter systems and the items needed to allow these to operate for an extended period! I have designed a Rain Water Catchment system I can rig in a temporary or permanent way to add to my stored water if necessary, in my case I'm providing for only 3 of us, but can expand to more if necessary! My Point is what are YOU DOING? How many do you need to provide for, for how long, wiuth what materials? Not all matters are solved by throwing money at it? I see most of my Water use and cleaning stuff was freee or near free and only required me to gather them and assemb;le working systems out of them? Plastic Sheeting, 5 and other size Buckets and barrels needed to make filters and containers are easy to find, and afoard many can be had for free if you only ask? Other posts will cover my methods to do that BUT THIS POST IS TO ASK THE QUESTION SO MANY HATE, ARE YOU READY, IF SO, FOR HOW LONG, FOR HOW MANY PEOPLE? AS those interested in PREPARDNESS, we need to set the example of how it's done to provide for those we love and care about, right? Search your own heart and see what is true and what you need done? How much time do you have? Who Knows???? I plan like I'm onthe back end of time each and every prep I make!!!! Cheers and I hope this helps to get those involved motivated and thinking the way to improve? I'm going to add most posts on Filters (HOW TO) as well as commercial bought units and all that, as well as container procurement and methods later posts! Think of thios Post as a WATER WAKE UP CALL?? if your set and good, WONDERFULL< but if your as I was and many still are, not ready for what ya need for too very long, You need to think long and hard about it and ACT? Storing it is silly, unless you are so silly as to live in a desert. What you need is a way to make it safe to drink. boiling or A filter and potable Aqua tablets work fine, but ong term, tho, you need to know how to locate, dig, and line your own well. The Foxfire books show you how to do all that. |
