Line divider for sig line, and sig line heighth

Two related problems with sig lines:

1. what's the css for the sig line divider? I want it invisible. (i.e., matching the color of the post.) And, if I have alternating colors for odd and even posts, is that possible?

2. whether there is a signature or not, there is a rather large space devoted to it in a post. Can one control that size, (heighth), or diminish it, or best of all...make it fit just the heighth of any sig, and if there is no sig, make it zero?

thanks! :)

The large gaps in posts occurs in IE/Opera, but there are fixes for several theme bugs found here.

td.c_sig controls the signature, however the top border of it is actually the bottom border of the td.c_post. At least that how it appears in Firefox.
I'm not completely sure how the alternating post colours mod works, so a link might be helpful in order to help you with the second question.

thanks! Viral, in another thread, created this script for it:

<script>$(function(){$("td.c_post:odd,td.c_nosig:odd,td.c_sig:odd").addClass("postOdd");});</script>

Ah. Thing is, it'll do the odd signature, not the signature attached to the odd post.

I applied via a browser modification to this topic. My post is the odd post, yet my signature is the first signature on the page. Therefore after I post now, my post will be odd, and so will my signature. Not everyone has a signature. So that's a flaw with that code.

Well, the code is perfect for what it does. I'm wondering if I make the line the same color for the even/regular posts, will the code take care of the odd ones? Or, add a similar script to the css to cover the odd sig line colors? (I'm in way over my head re layout script or css. LOL) Thanks. It's not a huge deal; just would be nice to fix it so all posts aren't several inches longer than need be. I have Firefox, but believe it or not, I prefer the new IE 8.

IE8? ... -_-

IE8 is in BETA. It's for developers. Therefore you're probably going to get a tonne more errors than you'd encounter if you were using IE7. I used IE8 the other day for some testing and it seriously screws some things up. It's not Zetaboards' coding either, the coding is perfect. Internet Explorer is an incredibly sucky browser... and even more so in a BETA version.

I'm sorry, the Zeta profile on me says IE8, so I took it to be correct. But I checked my pc, and I'm using IE7. And I love it more than Firefox - sorry.

I use Safari as well, but with it being on a Windows, there are a few problems, like highlighting. I use FF for Firebug and other stuff, but then Opera and IE are just to help annoy my codes.

It's your personal preference, I can't knock you for it, it's fine :)
If you had been using IE8 I would've had to tell you that any 'bugs' that appear on Zetaboards in IE8 won't be looked at until there is a final version of it. A couple of people have grumbled about things in IE8 to me so it bugs me a little since they shouldn't expect things to work amazingly in a BETA version.

But anyway, this topic isn't about which browser is better. Like operating systems, people have the right of choice.
