Big time RSV going around in our town and just like angi I thought that it would only end up affecting babies never thought it would end up affecting school age kids .

So there is a possiblity that this is what he has but I am concerned about a another fever seems to be creeping on him during the nite time so I called his doctor but if it's just a virus we know antibiotics won't fix virus and virus especially lung viruses could turn into pnemonia, bronchitis , strep stuff .

It's so scary to see him like this and I seen him coughing before pretty badly but this seems worse . So more likely he won't be fully better until by Monday.

I dislike him missing school but I don't want him to be full of misery at school. He seems less perky than he was with his fever on thurs-saturday . He was really perky from thurs-Monday. Now yesterday and today he is more laying down and not jumping or running around.

Plus, during his coughing episodes he felt better to sleep with his mommy .

So if he does have RSV I found out I can get it also but it would more act like a cold in adults so crossing fingers i don't get it .

My brother is really sick too and he just got on meds !

As we talked about on facebook - this is crazy! RSV is going around here too - and a friend of mine in Colorado's daughter has it too!! I had no idea it could effect school aged kids! I've seen kids as old as 10 getting it! I just thought it was a baby thing.

We been sick since early-Dec. I had a sinus infection and ear infection which took be until now to fully recover from (from onset of symptoms to post treatment about 6 weeks). Hailey woke up from a nap Wends with a fever that would NOT give up (longest she's had a fever is 24 hours until last week!) Never have really had to "treat" a fever (its more of the "other" stuff like aches and pains associated with being sick she wants motrin for). Without motrin her fever was still above 100, most times 101-102. Then it was gone for 24-48 hours and came back Sunday. Its been a PITB. She's been battling a bad cough almost non-stop since summer time though. It sounds like a smokers cough - but chest xrays are good no issues that way, antibiotics haven't done anything. It comes and goes which is good - so it might just be allergy relate since it happens with with the change of season. :sigh: IDK. She's been a trooper. Now Jeremiah's been be ok through all of this until just before Christmas. And he's just getting worse. And he wont take anything for his symptoms. I keep telling him to take the mucinex to help all the junk drain out (I took mucinex for 2 weeks straight and that is what finnally got all the junk out of my system).

There has been a bad virus going out at DD's school w/ fever, throwing up, and loose stools. Quite ironically, it started int he class I've been working in and spread to the class Hailey is in. Lovely :D BUT - really it could be anything because its all over the area this same virus.

I just want it to be warm and stay warm. The temps keep changing rapidly from one extreme to the other (yesterday, we went outside in a t-shirt w/ out a jacket on and considered wearing capri's. Today, however, hat, gloves, layer as much as you can on. It was almost 70 yesterday today the high was I think 35). So yea - going from one extreme to the other doesn't help anyone get better!

Thank goodness it wasn't RSV but strep throat with an mad ear infection too . It took nearly a week to diagnosis him with strep throat because he acted normal on Thurs-Monday but it was obviously he was starting to get worse on Monday because his coughing sounded bad and it was keeping him up . He has one of those uvula that are way long and when he gets sick they really drop down lower and swell huge.
That doctor saw his tonsils were red and nodes were red . Said since he's not complaining of ear or throat pain it will be a virus that will past . Believe me I'm never going to see that doctor again !
