I have to do a "project" for one of my classes. I'm debating about what I should do my project on, the overall topic. What i have to do is find an interest of the kids in my class, and create a web of like "sub topics" we can do. A few of the big interests in my class are balls, bubbles, water, paint, containers (concepts in/out; on/off - IE: shape sorters, dump and fill type activities). So far, I'm thinking I could go with the containers specifically concepts of in/out; on off and extend into the other interests. For example, throwing various balls into various containers, kicking various balls into various containers or goals, rolling various balls into various containers or even just in general. using the shape sorter, placing crayons/markers/paint in and out of a tray (we use the blue gerber graduates/preschool trays for paint, glue, etc. They are GREAT!) Use empty bubble containers w/ the wand for in and out - pretend to blow bubbles, use various tools and such with water and can do concepts of in and out, place baby dolls in bed/chair/etc. I think that would cover EVERY child in my class individual interests. The only catch is, the goal is to narrow down to a specific interest and make a web from that. HOWEVER, most are for older children. The main topic will be for example "Film" or "babies" and describe those roles and everything related to film or babies. I feel like my idea is just too spread out. BUT, really when I look around those two concepts (in/out, on/off) are ongoing in all areas of play. So it makes sense. We're out of class next week, so I'm on my own trying to figure this out! |

I know many people think of babies being up until 2 even though once they turn 1 they are really a toddler . So anyways you could have the age range of 6 months to 2 . Many six months old are learning the in & out concept but that's only by making every differnt shape to try to get in until they get the right one , they are getting the pushing buttons that cause action. Maybe you should do one about pushing kids pushing a kid telephone, pushing the top to make all balls bounce around, or something to spin around, having a kid push on button to turn on music, push a ball into some hole to make it go down a swirly slide. |
