This has been the most exhausting vacation EVER!!! The flights were good. Hailey behaved! We arrived in California 30 minutes later then scheduled on Thursday evening (about 11pm - it was midnight by the time we got to a hotel). We stayed at a hotel in San Fransisco overnight, then drove 3 hours to the family reunion on Friday morning. We were outside almost all day on Friday and it was really nice. IT was at a local park. We took family pictures - and a lot 4 generations! We played spousology and got 2nd place - who would have thought! LOL! We celebrated great-grandma's "80th" birthday (it was really her 79th - aunt in law counted the years wrong) and their anniversary (60 years). After the reunion we went bowling w/ DH's two sisters and their husbands. Hailey loved it! She did better then me! Saterday, we hung out with great-grandma/pa, then BIL stopped to get hot wheels at a trading store (He collects hot wheels) He went through 9, yes NINE boxes of hot wheels at this little store, and bought SIXTY hot wheels. They were $1 a piece. Crazy! I can't remember what else we did...but it was non-stop ALL DAY! I think it was 11pm by the time we ate dinner. Sunday we drove to Southern California - 8 hour drive. It was a nice drive - got to catch up on some much needed sleep. Monday morning we got up early and drove to Disney. We went to California Adventure from open to close Monday. I got sun burnt - we did not get much sleep at ALL. But it was a ton of Fun. Tuesday we went to Disney Land from 8 am to midnight - we did go back to the hotel for about an hour and half to eat dinner. It was a *LONG* day. Very long, and we were all really grumpy. Hailey loved the Teacups, Dumbo, and even got to go on Matterhorn. All the IL's were shocked that she wasn't scared of the roller coaster. She wanted to go on again but the line was way to long to go again! The lines where terrible! I mean terrible. All DAY LONG! Then Wednesday we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific and Hailey was just melt down central. She enjoyed the outdoor sharks, star fish and sea lion exhibits and where you walk inside to see them - but the fishes she could have cared less about. She was just in a run around mood. She did stare at the sharks for about 30 minutes though. Then we went and hung out at her other great-grandma's house. She slept the entire time which was good - but she didn't get to see her great grandma for very long. Oh well. We got to the LA airport - she watch Lilo and Stitch while waiting to board, and before the plane even took off she was asleep. It was a red eye flight so it didn't leave until 1030 pacific time. She slept the entire flight until we started to descend and her ears were popping. We got in at 6am (15 minutes early). we got home about 7:30am. We told Hailey "we're going to go back to bed for a little while" she walked in the door, climbed in bed and before I could put the covers on her she was asleep - and just woke up at noon. Of course she's being bossy as ever, and a wild child! Poor baby was so over tired and exhausted. She hardly ate the entire trip, she's cutting her bottom molar. When we got onto the second flght going out to California she got this really weird red rash - it was just small red circles (not raised). It wasn't heat rash - but looked close to hives. So no idea what she was reacting to. Then she got a cough and a nasty runny nose. So poor thing has been taking motrin and benadryl (rotating based on need) all week. Hopefully my IL"s don't think I'm crazy or DD is a spoiled brat - she wouldn't say thank you the entire time, plus being over tired she was not herself instead a complete monster at times - esp at Disney Land. She also did not take a nap the entire trip except in the car here and there. She certainly needs to keep up with the naps - I thought she was outgrowing them but after this trip no way no how are we giving up naps anytime soon! |

BIL (its DH's sisters husband) he a huge car guy, so it doesn't totally surprise me. And some do hold some significant value apparently. He is totally a big kid though! Oh we got Hailey her first pin lanyard from Disney. She picked out a Tinkerbell lanyard and bolt, stich *sp*, and a Nemo pin. SIL buys huge lots off e-bay and gave Hailey some to trade (she does it w/ all the kids she babysits and nannies for which is smart). So she got a princess, 2009, and a few other cool ones. |
