I ran by there earlier this week, and the price is right, the hours are good and child care hours are good (I think? Can't remember exact times now). Its something DH and I can do together and have a checks and balance (hey gotta pay for it might as well use it right?) We have a fitness room at our apartment complex, but quite honestly its just weights and run down equipment (literally falling apart). Plus, DH and I can't do it together one of us would always have to stay home and watch Hailey. They called us back today, and asked if we would like a 3 day pass to check it out - I said yes. They have the indoor basketball and the classes it sounded like a lot was included in the membership fee. Of course we'd just do the very basic membership with no contract (I think $25/month - I believe per person). I really *Really* need to get in shape. I've gained so much weight in the last 2 years I'm tired of it. I should also add, that we are in a big city - and the city does not install sidewalks along roads as a standard. So many of the people who run/walk are in the streets. I don't feel safe doing that b/c the main road you'd run on the speed limit is 50 mph, even in the neighborhood streets it is still 35 mph - and no side walks. We do have a park with walking trails but you have to pay $5 to park. By the time you pay the money to mark you could have just joined the gym in the first place. The other public parks taht don't charge parking are too far away, You'd end up spending $5 in gas to get there and back. Which makes the gym seem like a cost-effective option. At least to try to go 2-3 days per week until August - then see how our schedule looks. |

Thats so funny you posted this... I swear to you just Friday I was looking at gym memberships for us!! LOL!!! They opened up an "Urban Fitness" right down the street and they have child care too. Although they are not 24 hours. We were hoping to find something 24 hours so Josh can go in the middle of the night. (he's a night owl anyways) Apparently May is fat person month or something. Gym memberships are free the month of May around here. Although I thought I read its a national thing too. So i'd look into that. Get hte last couple weeks free and then start paying in June. |

That is too funny. Yeah - I want to join but DH doesn't want to make the commitment. I told him, if he doesn't join then I am because I need to have that "push" and there are a lot of other local mommies who belong to that gym. I need the peer pressure. I seriously weigh more now then what I weighed 9 months preggo with Hailey. Not much but you know - I don't have a 7 pound 7 oz baby, plus fluid, cord, placenta, etc to account for 15 pounds. Not to mention the amount I lost and gained back from morning sickness. URG! I don't expect to be a size 5/7 again but it would be nice to have a shirt where you didn't see belly rolls ya know? I'm not buying an XL size shirt! And refuse to buy a size 14 in pants! A 12 is hard enough! Ok my soap box. I'm sick of unhealthy living. (Did I mention DH got *NO* food for dinner but a bunch of pantry snacks which typically mean high salt, which means water retention weight gain. Ok I'm a dork! |

Ok - this probably sounds *really* bad. I got pooped on at work, so I had to run to walmart and grab a pair of pants (Quicker then running home and have to walk to dog for 30 minutes as to not tick him off so he destroys the house.) Well, all the capris have elastic waist for at least apart of it. They are SOOOO comfy, and can move around so easily at work. I got a size 12 but they were falling off. It felt good but I know its because the waist is elastic and the material is stretchy (But still a normal-rise so you're not showing anything when you bend down.) |
