I know this is going to seem really bizarre, but this is the truth.

Before being on our (now ex)VPS, I was on a different host. I don't usually have very much luck with VPSes, so I kept the old hosting account in case the crap hit the fan.

All this is fine and dandy, it's set up to auto-pay through PayPal every month. The past few months, it was just fine. Until I checked my emails today. I get a ton of emails with receipts and crap like that, so it's easy to miss some things. On top of all that, PayPal automatically paid the host on the 30th, so I thought all was good there.

I checked my email and see "OMG FINAL NOTICE ACCOUNT SUSPENDED" on the old host. By the time I noticed the email, the money for the month had already been deducted and credited. Or so I thought.

However, I notice that I was still getting invoice reminders (they send them daily at that point). However, instead of being up for the regular monthly payment, they threw on a late fee. Problem? IT'S A PAYPAL SUBSCRIPTION. I went back on my logs and invoices, and PayPal didn't take out the payment until the 30th, just like I said. It was supposedly due by the 26th.

Even worse is that the money they took from my PayPal (to cover the month), was NOT put towards the outstanding invoice, but instead kept as "account credit". So I added the late fee (which was more than what I was paying for the month, BTW), and added more money to the "credit" to cover the outstanding invoice. However, there's apparently no way to apply the "credit" to a current invoice. So right now I have a ticket logged to ask them to apply the credit to my account.

After that, I'm closing my accounts with them. They also own the company that the VPS is from, so I'm going to have to shut it down also. I'm going to rip them a new one and ask them why I was charged a late fee on a PayPal subscription (with IDs and everything to prove it).

I decided that it would be safe to have a external board from now on. I'm on a dry spell with the site. So this is going to be forum only for the moment. Sorry...
