Welcome to Rise of the Rebellion. We hope you enjoy your visit.
Rise Of The Rebellion is a roleplaying/collaborative-writing setting based on the Star Wars universe about ten years before the destruction of the first Death Star. The Empire is spreading its influence throughout the galaxy, persecution of non-humans is on the rise, and the Senate - once the center of galactic politics and power - is degenerating into a a hollow shell of its former self. But not everyone is ready to roll over and stand by while the Empire takes over control of the galaxy...
For a more detailed description click here. But before you explore any further, please be aware that there will be mention of sex, drugs, and violence. The Empire is not the nicest government of all times, and those who follow the Emperor sometimes commit amoral deeds.

If you are uncertain what kind of character to play, perhaps the following suggestions/ideas may help you. If you'd like to base a character on one of these concepts please reply in this thread with:
- Character name
- How much of the character concept you'd like to use.
- Player name
- For Example
-
Tia Lami Gonna use the whole idea, but make her a Twi'lek, instead of a human Admin
- For Example 2
-
Deel Doneeta I'll use the personality for my character, but specialize him in starship maintenance at the exclusion of everything else. Moderator
These are on a first-come, first-served basis, but don't keep a character reserved indefinitely. If you want to base a character on one of these concepts, please provide a full profile within no more than 3 to 4 days.
Bron Konnar - Human Pilot Bron is an old spacehand who has been around the galaxy for a long time working in a lot of different jobs, as long as they provided a solid income. He's a good pilot, and a solid shot with a blaster. Bron has a dry sense of humor and while he doesn't bite the hand that feeds him, he has his principles. For the last few months he has been employed as a first officer on a large commercial freighter, but that work just doesn't agree with him. Bron needs just a bit more freedom. Character class: Scoundrel / Scout - maybe Scoundrel / Soldier Skils: Pilot, Astrogator, one other Specialties: Anything relating to piloting, astrogation, or knowledge of the galaxy. Quote: Hey, money makes the world go round and I am a bit short on money right now, so make me an offer.
Kitora - Duros Fighter Kitora followed her Duros instincts and became a scout and explorer. As a crewmember of a small exploration vessel this soon lead her to the outer rim of the galaxy, where she swiftly discovered that exploration is not always peacefull, and that martial skills can be quite useful at the edge of civilized space. Having spent the last few years on the rim, Kitora is not the most well-versed in etiquette and prefers to settle disputes first, then ask questions later - maybe. Character class: Soldier / Scout Skils: Survival, Blaster Combat, one other that fits a self-sufficient person. Mechanics may be an option, as could be Medicine or Perception. Specialties: Anything relating to fighting and wilderness survival. Quote: Get out of my way.
Deel Doneeta - Twi'lek Mechanic Deel is a laid back guy who has very little care in the world. If anything can get him out of his laid-back mood it is a challenge that involves mechanics or electronics. He's drifted around for a while and picked up a good few skills that deal with machines and their maintenance. He's not exactly looking for a job, but money is running a bit low for this Twi'lek mechanic. He's been around a lot, but never bothered to look very far beyond the machines closest to him. Character class: Scout or Scoundrel Skils: Mechanics, Computer Use, maybe Knowledge - Technology Specialties: Deel knows a lot about machines, so he should have a specialty based on that, but he could also have something based on knowing people and having connections, as he is one of the more older characters. Something that defines his Mechanics skills more to give him a specialty with droids, ships, weapons, and so on, might also work well for Deel. Quote: Hmm... not interested. I enjoy looking at this ceiling. Oh - wait - hand me my tools, will you? I think this light fixture needs a small adjustment.
Ephram Solo - Human Rogue Ephram is a gambler, risk taker, and ladies man. He thinks his charms will never desert him when it comes to the fair sex, and since luck is a lady he believes just the same about his luck. Ephram makes his way from planet to planet to gamble, make money, and make conquests. Lately he's had a small streak of bad luck at the card tables, and now looks for a place to lie low for a while, least some people find him he still owes a little bit money to. Some of the schemes Ephram comes up with to make money can be a bit hair-brained, but he has never been lacking in creativity - especially when it comes to creative ways to avoid sore losers or horned husbands - including that literally horned Zabrak guy on Corellia, but lets not speak about that episode, please. Character class: Scoundrel Skils: Gambling, Persuasion, Deception Specialties: Streetwise - Ephram can almost everywhere find the best places for a good bargain, to gain some information, or learn about the places to seek out or avoid. A specialty that has to do with charming people of the opposite sex could work well for him, as could anything relating to speed and dexterity. Quote: Oh, please, you don't think I would need marked cards? Buddy! I am good at what I do. Only losers need to cheat.
Nimara Ti-Odo - Cerean Smuggler Like most Cereans, Nimara is methodical, logical, and patient. Unlike other Cereans she has arrived at the - in her mind logical - conclusion that in this day and age only looking out for yourself first will guarantee a long life. So Nimara turned her piloting skills away from a civilian career and became a smuggler a few years ago. that worked well enough for her until a few Hutts on Nirot-Korba couldn't see the logic in her repaying some debts a little later than originally agreed. Nimara had to take the next flight out of there, and landed in the neighboring Vandor sector, looking for a way to make some money before the Hutts caught up with her. Character class: Scoundrel Skils: Pilot, Blaster Combat, one other Specialties: Anything relating to piloting or the underworld. Quote: If you were to look at this rationally you would certainly find that my services are worth more than what you initially offered.
Tia Lami - Human Businesswoman Tia is a junior manager with a mid-size company that hopes to do business in the Vandor sector. She has been sent to Vandor to scout for business opportunities and make some contacts among the influential people of the sector. This job could open a lot of career opportunities if done right, but the Empire pushes hard to drive out smaller operators and hand over business in the sector to state-controlled corporations, which makes Tia's job rather frustrating. Character class: Noble Skils: Gather Information, Knowledge - Bureaucracy, one other Knowledge skill, or perhaps Perception Specialties: Anything about her job could work well for her, be it Wealth, Connections, or a way to get her hands on certain goods through backchannels, circumventing permits and customs. Quote: My dear, I am here on business, and I am certain we can do business if we can only agree on a reasonable price for your services. Wouldn't you agree, darling?
Aldus Bondar - Zabrak Bodyguard Aldus always dreamed of becoming a Jedi when he was a kid, but he just didn't have it in him. But he still wanted to serve the common good, so he joined the Iridonian Defence Forces at an early age and made his way through the ranks until he became a sergeant (Iridonia is the Zabrak homeworld). And yet, it dawned on him that life in the military was not what he was made for either. Most of his time there was spent on training, waiting, more training, and a few very rare real missions in between the routine. So he decided to resign from the defence forces and find a cause more worthy of his attention. Character class: Soldier Skils: Melee Combat, Perception, Survival Specialties: Leadership - Aldus can take command of a situation and keep people rational and calm in the most dire of circumstances. Intimidation could be a fitting speciality for him too, as could be anything suiting an experienced non-commissioned officer. Quote: Stay behind me. We'll get through this alive, I promise.
R4-D3 - Astromech Droid R4 has been the loyal droid of a free trader for over a decade, but when his master died he was sold to a droid dealer on Demawand. His memory was about to be whiped when he escaped from the droid shop one night. Since that day R4 has been wandering the sidestreets of Demawand, looking for a new owner who will take care of him and provide him with something worthwhile to do. His former owner has equipped R4 with a vocabulator, so he can speak Basic, but he rarely makes use of that ability around strangers. Until he finds someone he can attach himself to R4 does not want to draw any attention to himself, least he be caught and returned to the salesman who might whipe all his memories of times spent exploring the galaxy and discovering new things. Character class: Scout Skils: Astrogation, Mechanic, Perception Specialties: Starship maintenance - R4 has a huge database of ship schematics and starship systems stored in his memory. The starship he can't interface with has yet to be designed. His second speciality could be either something dealing with computers, or something that reflects his time as a runaway, as he has become rather streetwise and perceptive while hiding from the droid dealer. Quote: Doo dee. Meep, bleep beep toot.
Mar-Adi Dona - Cerean Jedi Mar-Adi was just a young Padawan learner when the Jedi purge started. He had the good fortune of being away from Coruscant when the Jedi Temple was stormed by Darth Vader and his clone troopers, and since then he has drifted around, went from place to place looking for other survivors of the Jedi, but his hope to find some has slowly faded over the intervening years, as he seemed to be the sole survivor of the Jedi purge. The only thought that keeps his spirits up is that perhaps any other survivor is hiding so well that he can't find them. But there are days when he can be moody and blue. Character class: Jedi Skils: Use the Force, Perception Specialties: Low Profile - Mar has a knack for not drawing attention to himself. He has learned to blend in at many different places, and has acquired several forged papers that allow him to pass for someone who just belongs wherever he finds himself. Force Sensitive: Yes Force Powers: Sense, Lightsaber Combat Quote: I guess I am all alone now, but perhaps not forever. Right?.
Alana Darkstryder - Human Pilot Alana used both talent and family connections to make her way up the ranks of the Imperial navy, until she got the job of test pilot for some advanced models of TIE fighters. Then, one day, an accident happened that cost her her right arm and right eye. Both were replaced by rather average cybernetic prosthetics and she was relegated to desk duties. After a while she grew so frustrated with this life - and her role as just another expandable cog in the machine - that she deserted. Alana stole a shuttle, sold it, and from the proceeds bought herself a new identity. Now she harbors a deep-seated hatred for the Empire, which she blames for letting her down in the middle of her career. Character class: Soldier Skils: Pilot, Blaster Combat, Knowledge - Tactics Specialties: Fighter Pilot: Alana is extremely good at piloting a fighter. She can get the most out of any small combat craft she pilots, and then some. Former Imperial Officer: She knows all the procedures, and could pass herself of as an Imperial officer or soldier if she needed to. She also knows all the standard tactics employed by the Empire inside out. Quote: Fighting against the Empire? Sure I would, but with a ragtag outfit like this... I don't know.
Krash - Trandoshan Fighter Krash has worked the mines on Grr'kar most of his adolescent and adult life. He hated working for the Vandorians, but he channeled his anger into prizefights the Trandoshan miners set up in their spare time as a diversion from their harsh lot in life. He lived that way until a mine shaft caved in and half his family was killed in that accident. It could have been avoided, if only the Vandorians and Imperials had spent a few more credits on safety. From that day on he tried to raise trouble for the Vandorians and managed to enlist a few of his fellow fistfighters to his course. But after a few raids on the mining supervisors things got too hot for Krash and he stowed away on a freighter, hoping to return home one day to continue the fight. Character class: Soldier / Noble (the latter to represent some leadership skills he acquired) Skils: Unarmed Combat, Mechanic, one other (Survival could work, but also Treat Injury or Persuasion) Specialties: Resilience: Krash can take even more punishment than most Trandoshans, and can shake of hits that would knock out most people. One other that relates either to his career as a prizefighter, or his role as a rabble-rousing rebel. Quote: My people deserve better than being slaves. *growls*
