| Welcome to Rise of the Rebellion. We hope you enjoy your visit.
Rise Of The Rebellion is a roleplaying/collaborative-writing setting based on the Star Wars universe about ten years before the destruction of the first Death Star. The Empire is spreading its influence throughout the galaxy, persecution of non-humans is on the rise, and the Senate - once the center of galactic politics and power - is degenerating into a a hollow shell of its former self. But not everyone is ready to roll over and stand by while the Empire takes over control of the galaxy...
For a more detailed description click here. But before you explore any further, please be aware that there will be mention of sex, drugs, and violence. The Empire is not the nicest government of all times, and those who follow the Emperor sometimes commit amoral deeds.

Rise of the Rebellion is a roleplaying/collaborative-writing setting based on the Star Wars universe, ste a few years after the end of the Clone Wars. The Empire is on the rise, Star Destroyers are turning up in more and more systems, and TIE fighters come off the production lines in frightening numbers. Non-humans are no longer feeling welcome even in once cosmopolitan places like Coruscant (which is more and more talked about as the "Imperial Center"). The Senat still exists and holds regular sessions, but it is a toothless beast that mostly follows were the Emperor leads.
The main focus of Rise is the Vandor sector, colonized hundreds of generations ago, but then isolated from galactic politics as the Sith wars cut off the only known hyperspace route into the sector. 400 years ago Vandor has joined the Republic, as a new hyperspace route into the sector was discovered, but Vandor has remained fairly neutral in galactic politics until the end of the Clone Wars, when the rulers of the sector readily threw in their lot with the emerging Empire.
Characters in this game can be explorers, soldiers, diplomats, even the last remianing few Jedi - whatever you like. While the Vandor sector is part of the Empire, not everyone welcomes the Imperial presence, and not every world in the sector is completely controlled by the Empire or the Vandorian nobility. There is more than enough room for freebooters, smugglers, and those who just want to make a living in this sector of the galaxy. But whoever your character is, he or she should not have too great a love for the Empire. The title of this forum should be enough to indicate were this story is headed, and characters who strongly sympathize with the Empire may not be a good choice for a player character.
edit
Note please, that Rise of the Rebellion is not an online version of a traditional pen-and-paper game with dice-rolling, full-blown character sheets, or game mechanics set in stone. The character profiles draw some inspiration from aspects of published Star Wars games, but only to help you define your character in a few concrete terms. A secondary objective of using a few roleplaying terms in the character profiles is to put every new character on an equal footing.
Please also note that this is not a canonical Star Wars setting. If something happens here that does not fit the canon established by Star Wars movies, novels, or anything else that is just that. Rise of the Rebellion uses a lot of material from the SW canon, but does not strictly adhere to it.
To begin play here, please read the Forum Rules. Next create your character by filling out a Character Form - but make sure to read everything in that topic carefully before you start filling out your form.
When you sign up you have three options for your character's affiliation: Empire, Rebellion, or Neutral. These are not set in stone, and can change over time, but a character loyal to the Empire might not be a good choice. That option largely exists for non-player characters.
