Hello readers, I've been asked to run a blog so I'll be updating this when ever I can. Expect to my views on recent events, talking about my team, SSBL in general and stuff about my free time. Hope you enjoy.

Fantastic Start, 14 Game Winning Streak
The team is playing great right now and we are playing even better than we expected as a team at the start of the season so its great to be sitting where we are now come the All Star break. After the success of last season which surprised a few we thought that we could build on that and we are really clicking as a team right now. I feel we have the right mix of experience and youth in the side and we know what job we gotta do out there. Mark is there to rebound and block shots, Horace this there to do a bit of everything in the paint, Rod is there for defence and offence while Michael knows how to score and set the rest of the team up. I've been asked a few times about our current 14 game winning streak at the All Star break and really we haven't really thought about it that much we just take one game at a time and try our best to win that. We know we are in a tough Division and a tough conference. With teams like Hornets, Pistons, Pacers, Cavs in our division we know nothing is going to be easy but like I said we are really clicking at the moment and we feel like we can beat anyone. Its great that I am averaging 29PPG and its helping the team with a great record which is the biggest thing for me, I wouldn't want to be averaging big numbers and not be in the playoff race. At the same time I'm also trying to improve my game most notable my defence.

All Star Weekend
The All Star weekend was really fun to be apart of, it’s also nice to just have fun and interacting with the fans and putting on the show. I was a bit disappointed not to be in the All Star game itself but it was great to see my boy Adams representing the Hawks out there. I took part in the Slam Dunk contest which I was a little surprised to be invited to but it was fun. I ended up winning the first round which I surprised my self haha, I'd been practising my dunks with Michael Adams in training leading up to the weekend and I guess it paid off. Jordan really stepping it up though in the second round, man he is such a great player and it was an honour to do this against him. I also took part in the 3 point contest along with Adams which turned out to be a straight battle between us which was really fun, either of us wanted to lose and hear the other brag about it for the rest of the year. Michael started on fire and won the first two round but when it came down to me and him in the final round I really stepped it up and got a total of 21 which was the highest of the night. I'll sure to get a photo of me with the trophy and stick it around the training centre haha.

Michael Adams
What can I say about Michael, he really is having a fantastic season and we have formed a great partnership in the back court and we are also really good friends off the court which is a big reason why we are playing so well together. He's averaging 24.5PPG, 9.8APG and 2SPG while leading the league in 3 point percentage shooting the 2nd most 3's per game which are amazing numbers. He's a big reason why we are playing so well and it was great to see him got the recognition to be called up for the All Star game. He had a great game just before the all star weekend against the Rockets where he got his first triple double which is pretty impressive for a 5'11 guy. It was a great stat line, 10 boards, 10 dimes and 44 points going up against a top point guard in Terry Porter.

Free Time
Off the court there are times were you get quite a bit of free time. On the road staying in hotels and at home when you go a few days without a game. I live in Atlanta during the off-season so when we go a few days without a game I spend time just relaxing with my family and close friends weather it would be in front of the TV watching a DVD or whatever its just nice to spend time with your family. At away games I'm normally paired in a room with Horace Grant who's a lot of fun. He's always joking around playing pranks and what not which is good for the morale of the team. He also likes to play video games so I sometimes give him a game on Madden and NBA Live he normally wins but it’s a good way to pass the time.

MVP Race
The MVP race will be very interesting this year, guys out there are playing real well. For starters, Hakeem Olajuwon, the dream is just playing amazing right now averaging 34.5PPG, 13.5RPG and 4.4BPG whic is just insane. Then you got Michael Jordan of course averaging near on 34PPG, 8.3RPG, 5.7APG and 2.6SPG which is amazing in its own right. Then you have got guys like Karl Malone, Dominique Wilkins, David Robinson, Magic Johnson who are having great seasons aswell so for sure it is going to be an interesting race.

This is a personal weblog. The views expressed here are those of Reggie Miller and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the SSBL, the Atlanta Hawks, and its partners.

the biggest basketball game out back then was none other than "Jordan vs. Bird: One on One."

I sucked so bad at that game, lol.

EDIT: lmao, it's by EA, so I guess that is the first ever version of Live... so you were right, will. : P

Now, I actually remember playing a game on the original Nintendo starring Magic Johnson.

Yeah, Magic's fast break, or something... it was made after Jordan vs. Bird, but yeah, I'm sure you played it.

1991 was the year of the "Bulls VS. Lakers" game. Live wasn't around until '95.

The video game market back then sucked. The only worthwhile game out there was Lakers VS Celtics, but it was on the computer only.

lol, I just got done saying Jordan vs. Bird was the top basketball game back then. Lakers vs. Bulls was alright, but like you said it was only on the computer, and most of my friend's had the NES. So, Jordan vs. Bird was the biggest freakin' game of it's time.
