"1989 SSBLv3 PR's #3" The season is coming to and end, and Playoff teams will be looking to make some last minute deals as the trade deadline is fast approaching. Since the last PR's, the Hawks have slipped a little, and there is a new #1, the Orlando Magic. Teams like the Celtics and Spurs have been able to get their act together and look to make solid Playoffs runs. Let's take a look at each teams performance: 1. Orlando Magic The Magic are finally healthy and look really good going into the Playoffs. Smith has proven to be a very important piece to their puzzle. However, let me get you in on a little secret...if you want to beat the Magic, make them shoot 3's. 2. New York Knicks The Knicks have surpassed the Hawks and sit right behind the Magic. What has kept the Knicks on top? Their defense. Kerr keeps on surprising me. 3. Atlanta Hawks "Hotlanta" hasn't been so hot lately. Their defense has been giving them some problems the past month or so. If they expect to oust the Magic or Knicks, they better get their act together on defense. 4. Golden State Warriors Hakeem has not only kept this team together, but has kept this team dreaming of the promised land. I'm not saying he is no Moses, but he will need a bag of miracles to get past the East. Regardless, I give kudos to their franchise. 5. Los Angeles Lakers The Lakers have really done a good job keeping their composure together. I understand the West is weak, but Kemp and Co. have done a good job as of late as they are only 1.5 games back from the top spot in the West. 6. Cleveland Cavaliers The Cavs continue to fight, even though they are without their starting PF Wayman Tisdale, who is going to be out for the regular season and 1st rd of the Playoffs. The Cavs will need to pull off some kind of move if they stand any chance at surviving in the Playoffs. 7. San Antonio Spurs The Spurs were finally able to make the move that would help them get closer and closer to the top spot in the West and a deep run in the Playoffs. Getting Mahorn has really helped their defense. Their GM still wants to upgrade their SG position, especially on defense. 8. Boston Celtics GM Luca was previously cited on the beautiful Leonard P. Zakim-Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge in Boston as the Celtics fell into the shitter. However, a brave and bold Larry Bird came up to Luca and simply stated, we want to shoot from the Outside more. Hell, it has saved Luca and the Celtics. 9. Washington Bullets It's simply amazing how much one player like MJ can do to any team in this league. He continues to carry the Bullets and they now sit #6 in the uber-competitive East. 10. Detroit Pistons The Pistons have been inconsistent as of late, and they are trying to hold on to their #8 spot in the East. The team really needs to rebound and defend better. 11. New Jersey Nets The Nets have stayed competitive in the East this season, but look to make some big deals come the trade deadline. Their GM understands that the East is really competitive and that they need to reload somehow. 12. Vancouver Grizzlies The Grizz are really happy to have Nance back in their lineup. Losing him really hurt and it shows, as they have dropped down to the #4 spot in the West. Better defense would really help this team. 13. Denver Nuggets The Nuggets have simply not been able to get over the hump this season. They could've used one big trade, probably for a SG. Magic is continuing his great season. 14. Portland Trailblazers The Blazers have been duds lately, but Malone has been fabulous. He finally qualified for PPG. The Blazers should plan for the offseason already, no offense. 15. Utah Jazz I know their GM has not enjoyed their rollercoaster type of season. Seikaly continues to make strides and shows promise. 16. Seattle Supersonics The Sonics have surprisingly jumped back into the Playoffs without their floor general. Anything can happen in the Wild Wild West though. McDaniel has been the team MVP. 17. Charlotte Hornets The Hornets are scrambling to make the #8 spot, with only being two games back. There newly acquired player Ellis really needs to step it up for them. He should help their offense out. 18. Miami Heat The Heat were able to make a solid move in their effort in trying to build around DRob. They are finally over .500 and are only 4 games out of the Playoffs. They have some easy games up ahead in their schedule, so anything's possible. 19. Chicago Bulls The Bulls haven't been able to get over the hump this season, although Mullin has been awesome this season. Their main task should be to focus on Daugherty and get a better PG. 20. Milwaukee Bucks The Bucks are coming off of their worst games of the season. Who knows where the Bucks will get help this offseason. 21. Sacramento Kings The Kings had a rough schedule as of late, and dropped out of the Playoffs. Only 2 games back, who knows what's their fate. 22. Houston Rockets I'm done questioning their players, where the hell has their GM been? 23. Phoenix Suns Can the Suns finally deal King? They really need to as he doesn't have a future for these building Suns. 24. Philadelphia 76ers The Sixers are looking to make some moves because they are disappointed about their season. Yeah, even Barkley is available. 25. Minnesota Timberwolves The Pups have been howling for help and have gotten none. Will the draft get them that help? 26. Toronto Raptors The Raptors traded their main gem Ellis and it was a good move, because he shouldn't be in their building plans. The Raptors are hoping the draft scores them Zo. 27. Los Angeles Clippers Manning Manning Manning. That's been the story of the Clippers season. They could use a wing but the draft is heavy with bigs. 28. Dallas Mavericks The Mavericks traded Chuck Person and MJax and have gotten mixed results from the peanut gallery. Their GM knows what he's doing and he's not stopping making moves. Look for a completely revamped 1990 Mavs. 29. Indiana Pacers The Pacers need help around Pippen, so they are setting themselves up nicely with the possible #1. if this is based off of winning percentage, and winning percentage alone, then the Spurs should be 7th and the Cavs should be 6th - just sayin'. EDIT: not that it matters, though, lol.
