With thirty four games under his belt, we caught up with the rookie point guard of the Toronto Raptors. Thus far into the season Mookie has established career highs of twenty two points, eleven rebounds, twelve assists, six steals and three blocks. He is shooting forty six percent from the field, eighty one percent from the charity stripe and an abysmal sixteen percent from the three pointer. However not to be discouraged, Mookie feels that he is right where he thought he would be at this stage of the season.

When talking to former Oklahoma coach, here is the statement he had to say about Mookie.

A superb floor maestro who could dominate a game defensively with his quick hands and great speed, Blaylock was the engine that made that team go.
"If you want to find Mookie, you've got to find a golf course," "He's a quiet man who likes to spend time with his family. But when he has time for himself, he'll be out there all day and even into the night." The Sooners retired Blaylock's No. 10 jersey. "It's hard to get Mookie to do anything," "I just know Mookie loves to play golf." "Mookie doesn't have a whole lot to say," Tubbs said. "He doesn't talk a lot. Mookie was good at Oklahoma because he was good at taking care of his business."

For those that know Mookie this seems odd, however for the rest of America and more importantly Canada, he comes off as an odd guy. However most of the close people around him say, they wouldn't want him any other way. Blaylock's humility is what propels him on court, knowing he can't take any plays off because it could damage the team. He does what needs to be down, every possession. So far in the season Mookie has done the best he can, but with youth and a lack of talent on the team it is hard for him to really shine.

Being picked in the second round, there comes expectations. We all know that Mookie is just a rookie however he takes thing a bit too personal when it comes to being a floor general. With this team Mookie has established a close relationship with fellow rookie, Vlade Divac. They both know that they will be building for a long time together. When they got here, they knew they wanted to bring a championship to Toronto. In order for that to happen they need to work on their games and live up to the potential in which got them drafted.

So with the all star weekend fast approaching we all know where to find Mookie. He will be dropping dimes in the rookie-soph game, but then after that look for him on the golf course.

I have no complaints with the price, but I was never a fan of pictures making an article better. To me that is more filler than just making text bigger.

I've never given a shit about pictures in articles either. I am however a firm believer of getting less and less cash for articles when you write one every 15 minutes ;)
