The Official SSBLv3 Creation Draft Analysis

This article is a complete analysis to the start of a great league, SSBLv3. This goes in-depth into the draft trades and major picks of teams. There are definitely some draft winners and losers, teams going for it all and teams building for the future.

Draft Trades Analysis:

Trade #1:
Milwaukee Bucks send:
#4 in the 2nd round
1990 First Rounder
1991 First Rounder

Suns send:
#18 in the 1st round

I like this deal for both teams. The Bucks get immediate talent and move up in the draft to the #18 spot without giving up their own 1st. That should help their cause as it looks like they are going to try and win. High risk, high reward for the Bucks. Grade: B+
Depending on how the Bucks draft really does turn out, the Suns could actually walk away winners in this deal. The Suns could still get young talent at the #4 in the 2nd rd and they are setting themselves up to be a top lotto team next year's draft. However, with the other GM's trackrecord, those picks could be not that great. Only time will tell. Grade: B+

Trade #2:

Magic Trade:
25th pick in the 2nd Round
1991 Magic First
1992 Magic First
1993 Magic First

Kings Trade:
22nd pick in the 1st round

With the Magic sitting pretty with Drexler, they decided to go all out and trade to get another 1st rounder. They paid a hefty price, but with that first were able to draft PG Isiah Thomas. Thomas is a legit PG, so it was a good pick for the Magic. However, the Kings really scored big by getting 3 future 1sts and a pick in the 2nd rd. To me, this was a pretty even move since the Kings are trying to build for the future and Magic are in a win-now mode. Grade: A- for both

Trade #3:

Bulls get:
Mavs #23 in 1st rd
Mavs #7 in 4th rd

Mavs get:
Bulls #17 in 2nd rd
Bulls 1990 1st
Bulls 1992 1st

Seeing that the players the Mavs wanted to draft were off the board, they decided to trade down to acquire some 1st rd picks. This will help the Mavs in their building for the future process. For the Bulls, this will not hurt them from the looks of their drafting. They have put together a pretty nice team in the tough East.
Grade for Mavs: B+
Grade for Bulls: A-

Trade #4:

Kings Trade:
2nd Round Creation Draft Pick (#8)

Cavaliers Trade:
2nd Round Creation Draft Pick (#19)
1992 1st Round Pick

Kings keep stockpiling picks. Can't get any better than that for them. The Cavs were able to add another scorer in Hornacek, nice outside compliment to Wlikins.
Grade for both: A-

Trade #5:

Spurs get:
Mavs #7 in 2nd rd

Mavs get:
Spurs 3rd rd pick
Spurs 1991 1st
Spurs 1992 1st

The Mavs continued to acquire future 1sts, this time from the Spurs. This was a solid move for the Spurs because they have been able to put together a nice squad now. Talent continued to drop as the Mavs anticipated.
Grade for Spurs: A
Grade for Mavs: B+

Trade #6:

Kings Trade:
2nd Round Creation Draft Pick

Pistons Trade:
3rd Round Creation Draft Pick
1992 Pistons 1st Round Pick

Recurring theme hear for the Kings. The Pistons however, look damn good now. I really like what they've done in this draft. Kings keep trying to get future 1sts rather than land some talent.
Grade for Pistons: A
Grade for Kings: B+

Trade #7:

Sacramento Kings Get:
Nuggets 4th Round CD pick
Nuggets 1992 1st

Denver Nuggets Get:
Kings 3rd Round CD Pick (#4)

The Kings again! Ahhh! I'm really interested to see how many more future 1sts the Kings will be able to acquire. The Nuggets were able to draft SF Ken Norman, who should be a decent SF. I think they could've gone Dale Ellis since they are trying to win now.
Grade for both: B+

Trade #8:

Pacers get:
Mavs 23rd pick in the 3rd round
Mavs 29th pick in the 3rd round
Mavs 6th Round pick

Mavs get:
Pacers 12th pick in the 3rd round
Pacers 6th round pick

This would look like a weird move but it led to the Mavs making another trade which was really nice for them. The Pacers were able to acquire more CD picks, with both teams not needing to move future 1sts.
Grade for both: A

Trade #9:

Suns get:
#12 pick in 3rd rd
Pacers 6th rd pick

Mavs get:
Chuck Person

The Mavs pulled up a very savvy move with the Suns. Without moving a future 1st, the Mavs were able to acquire SF Chuck Person, who looks like a nice young scorer. The Suns have made some weird moves, and this was another one of them.
Grade for the Mavs: A
Grade for the Suns: B-

Trade #10:

Suns send:
3.18 Phoenix Suns
4.12. Suns
6.12 Suns

Rockets send:
3.19 Houston Rockets
4.11 Rockets
6.11 Rockets

Thanks Travo for the most confusing way to post a trade. ;) This trade had no real benefit, but only for the Rox being able to acquire F Tom Chambers. Chambers will be a nice fit for the Rox as they have a nice scoring team. Suns, well yeah.
Grade for Suns: B
Grade for Rockets: A-

Trade #11:

Grizzlies Trade
5th rd pick
1990 1st rd pick

Suns Trade
3rd pick (#19)

The Grizz were out to get some more talent to their team and landed a decent 3rd rd pick. The Suns got another 1st, but what looks like a mid-late 1st, so whatever for the Suns. The Grizz drafted PG Johnny Dawkins, who looks like he could develop some more.
Grade for Suns: B-
Grade for Grizzlies: A-

Trade #12:

Grizzlies Trade
3th rd pick (#25)

Sonics Trade
4th rd pick (#13)

*The Grizzlies have the rights to swap 1st rd picks with the Sonics in 1991

This was a push-trade. Sonics get their guy at #25 in the 3rd rd, C Robert Parish.
Grade for both: B+

Trade #13:

Haws'
5th rounder (#20)
1991 1st

for Suns'
4th Round pick (#11)

Hawks trying to get more talent on their team, give up a 1991 1st. They have a nice squad so it doesn't look like that move will haunt them. Suns lol, more 1sts to add to their surplus.
Grade for both: B+

Trade #14

Magic Trade:
Paul Pressey
Magic's 1990 first

Grizzlies Trade:
Alvin Robertson

The Magic got their player they were targeting in Robertson. They gave up an OK SG and another 1st, which should not hurt them. Robertson is a solid defender, and will be a nice fit for what the Magic are trying to do.
Grade for Magic: A-
Grade for Grizz: B

Trade #15

Twolves get:
76ers 93 1st

76ers get:
Twolves 5th and 6th round picks.

TWolves get a future and Sixers get CD picks to get some more depth.
Grade for both: B+

Trade #16

BOS Trades:
1990 1st

TOR Trades:
6th round Creation Draft pick

Push move. Grades for both: B+

Trade #17

Rockets trade:
Bullets' right to swap 1sts in 1992
Houston 9th rd pick

Bullets trade:
Washington 7th rd pick (On the clock)

Push move. Grades for both: B+

Teams Draft Analysis:

1. Washington Bullets
With the #1 pick, the Bullets selected SG Michael Jordan. This pick is perfect, although I value C David Robinson more. MJ should be a scoring machine and defensive stopper for years to come. Scary that he's not in his prime just.
2nd pick:
PF Kevin McHale: Aging, but can still provide the Bullets with a few good seasons of defense and scoring.
Meaningful selections:
PG Sleepy Floyd
The Final Grade: B
Getting Jordan was huge. The Bullets were able to add talent around Jordan but its not enough to help them go deep into the playoffs. However, Jordan is still young enough for the Bullets to build around him. Trade McHale and Floyd for younger talent.

2. Miami Heat
The Miami Heat selected the #1 player on my draft list C David Robinson. DRob is the perfect mold for a big man. He is strong, great post defender and shot blocker, excellent rebounder, and great scorer. His age is a factor being only 24. The Heat have a great player to start their franchise.
2nd pick:
GF Nick Anderson: Like his defense already, offense needs work. Has potential to be a good scoring/ defending wing in this league.
Meaningful selections:
SF Sean Elliott
The Final Grade): B+
The Heat went pretty much all young, which is good to surround DRob. I think Anderson will one day be a good scorer and defender in this league. Elliot has some promise at SF. The Heat are headed in the right direction.

3. Golden State Warriors
The Warriors went with the #3 player on my draft list, "The Dream" Hakeem Olajuwon. Olajuwon is just like DRob, but more illusive in the post with his moves. "The Dream" is onlt 26, and not even in his prime yet. He'll be a special player, one that should be competing for MVP honors for year in, year out, and a perennial All-League and All-Defensive Team player.
2nd pick:
PG Muggsy Bogues: Undersized, but plays all heart. Great ball handling, should be tops in assists. Scoring a lost cause with this true PG.
Meaningful selections:
G Derek Harper
The Final Grade: B+
The Warriors have put together an odd team. However, I like their moves overall. No picks were given up which is major. "The Dream" is going to be a stud for many years, and as a true PG, Bogues is a damn good one. I like Harpers versatility. The Warriors still have holes at SF and PF before becoming a big time playoff team.

4. Detroit Pistons
The Pistons went with the next best C in the draft, Patrick Ewing. Ewing is a nice scorer and defender as well. Ewing is older though at 27, which is not that terrible. Ewing is a good franchise starter, as he should give 5-6 good years. Surround him with talent, the Pistons are set.
2nd pick:
Moses Malone: Malone may be old, but I still love his game. Best offensive rebounder can still play.
3rd pick:
Keeping with the Pistons roots, they took G Joe Dumars. Decent scorer, but defense and ball handling need work if he is the starting PG.
Meaningful selections:
The Final Grade: A-
The Pistons have been able to put together a playoff run team. Ewing + Malone + Dumars is a good trio.

5. Orlando Magic
At the #5 pick, the Magic made the first questionable pick, SG Clyde Drexler. Don't get me wrong, Drexler is a nice player, but he went to high in my opinion. There was still players like Wilkins and Malone on the board, and even Pippen. Hopefully the Magic have made up for it by acquiring another 1st rd pick, #22.
2nd pick:
The Magic traded with the Kings to get another 1st rounder and went with PG Isiah Thomas. Thomas is a tough PG. I love his playmaking abilities and the fact that he plays with all heart. He will be a nice compliment to Drexler.
Meaningful selections:
PF Charles Smith
The Final Grade: A-
The Magic have put together a very talented team. One thing that immediately stands out with this team is their defense. I see this team being a top defensive team this season. Thomas + Drexler combo is nice.

6. Portland Trailblazers
The Blazers went safe and selected PF Karl Malone. Malone is special post player, having the ability to hit the 15 foot jumper. Not only that, but Malone with a lot of heart and is extremely strong. With his work ethic, he should play for 10+ years to come.
2nd pick:
GF Drazen Petrovic: Young, but like upside, especially on offensive end. GM will need to focus on his defense.
Meaningful selections:
PG Nate McMillan
The Final Grade: B
The Blazers used their 1st two picks wisely, selecting Malone and Petrovic. However, beyond that, the Blazers are not talented enough to even be a playoff caliber team. Their superstar, Malone, is young enough for them to build around him.

7. Philadelphia 76ers
The Sixers went PF too with Charles Barkley. The "Round-Mound, Rebounding Machine" can score in the paint well due to his strength, but he is obviously known for his elite rebounding. Barkley was born with a knack for the ball. One thing for sure, Barkley is a liability on the defensive end.
2nd pick:
PG Sherman Douglas: Good ball handler and defender, but scoring bothers me because needs a lot of improvement in that department.
Meaningful selections:
GF Willie Anderson
The Final Grade: B
I like the trio of Anderson + Barkley + Douglas. The Sixers have building to do around these players.

8. Los Angeles Lakers
With the #8 pick, the Lakers decided to draft the youngest player of the draft class, PF Shawn Kemp. Kemp is still raw on offense and with rebounding, but it's safe to say he is the player with the highest potential in the draft. I love Kemp's freakish athletic abilities being he is 6'10". The Lakers should keep going young if they can.
2nd pick:
C Armen Gilliam: Decent scorer, needs improvement in defense and rebounding.
Meaningful selections:
PG Pooh Richardson
The Final Grade: B
Kemp will be a special one, with Pooh being a solid PG. The Lakers own all their 1sts, so have good building blocks.

9. Toronto Raptors
One of the newest franchises on the block made the 2nd questionable pick in the draft. With the #9 pick, and still great talent available, the Raptors decided on 21 year old C Vlade Divac. On my list, Divac was a late 1st rounder. Yes, he's 21, but I just don't see him improving that much than what he already is. The Raptors could've easily plucked the 1st PG off the board, someone like Price or even Hardaway. Not a good start to this new franchise.
2nd pick:
PG Mookie Blaylock: Good young PG, great hands for stealing. Outside of defense, raw in many areas.
Meaningful selections:
SF Dale Ellis
The Final Grade: C+
The Raptors made the first shock move with Divac going super early. The Raptors followed with some decent picks, and they were also able to get some future 1sts. They also have major building to do.

10. Boston Celtics
Wow, back-to-back bad picks. At #10, the Celtics went with 32 year old SF Larry Bird. Yeah, a 32 YEAR OLD! At that age, Bird in nothing but on the decline, especially with his back problems. The Celtics could have gone the opposite here and gone for a much younger SF Scottie Pippen. Well, goodluck Celtics fans, its going to be bumpy.
2nd pick:
SG Dell Curry: I like Curry's shooting and defense, but Bird is already a great shooter. A big man or PG would've been a better fit here.
Meaningful selections:
C John Williams
The Final Grade: B+
The Celtics have been getting nothing but hate lately. There's reason for cause, as the Celtics could've moved some of their 1sts for a few more, better CD picks. This team has a lot to prove, it'll be interesting to see how far they really get.

11. Cleveland Cavaliers
Woo, thank goodness. A good pick. The Cavs went with SF Dominique Wilkins. Wilkins is an athletic freak that can flat out score. One thing that has really helped 'Nique has been his improved shooting. If the Cavs can someone snatch another 20+ scorer to team up with Wilkins, they should be a top scoring team. I see Wilkins avg. around 30 pts a game this upcoming season.
2nd pick:
G Jeff Hornacek: Great shooter, nice compliment to Wilkins' Inside scoring.
Meaningful selections:
PF Wayman Tisdale
The Final Grade: B
The Cavs have two nice pieces in Wilkins and Hornacek, but oustide of them, they have an undeveloped Tisdale and other holes. Wilkins is not getting any younger so the Cavs better make some moves fast.

12. Indiana Pacers
The Pacers went with a player that based on my draft board, was long overdue. At #12, the Pacers were able to snag SF Scottie Pippen. Although he is raw on offense, he already is a superior defender and has a great work ethic, to go along side a nice upside. To me, this was the first steal of the draft, because Pippen is top 10 material.
2nd pick:
PF Kevin Willis: Willis is a strong defender and great rebounder.
Meaningful selections:
PG Kenny Smith
SF Rex Chapman
The Final Grade: B
The Pacers had a decent draft. Most important thing, they have some good pieces to build on their team, starting with Pippen.

13. Chicago Bulls
With their first pick the Bulls selected SF Chris Mullin. He already has good offensive ratings and is a solid defender as well. At 26, this was a solid selection for the Bulls. He should be a ncie scorer and leader for them.
2nd pick:
The Bulls made a trade with the Mavs to get another 1st in the draft and selected C Brad Daugherty. I like this pick because it made the Bulls an even more dangerous scoring team.
Meaningful selections:
SG Dennis Hopson
PF Mark West
The Final Grade: A-
The Bulls had a pretty solid draft. Mullin should be a top scorer in this league with Daugherty bring a nice compliment to the inside. They could use a better PG, but the Bulls should be a Playoff team.

14. Denver Nuggets
With their 1st pick, the Nuggets went towards one of the best vets in this draft, PG Magic Johnson. Johnson is 30, but hey, the Nuggets want to compete by all means, and this was solid for them. Johnson should be one of the top PGs in this league, this season especially. The Nuggets are hoping they can get 2-3 solid seasons from him, which is completely possible.
2nd pick:
C Sam Bowie: Has been a bust for his career, but good defender and rebounder.
Meaningful selections:
SF Ken Norman
C Hot Rod Williams
The Final Grade: A
I think the Nuggets had one of the most solid drafts. They put together a very nice team and one that should make a deep run.

15. Minnesota Timberwolves
The TWolves was to build a team for the future, and they made a great selection towards that by selecting PG Kevin Johnson with their 1st pick. Johnson is young and should be a solid PG in this league for many years to come. I just really like the swagger Johnson brings to any team. True floor leader.
2nd pick:
F Cliff Robinson: "Uncle Cliffy" has a lot of work to do iwith rebounding and defense f he wants to play PF.
Meaningful selections:
The Final Grade: C
The TWolves had a poor draft. Only highlights were Robinson and Johnson.

16. New Jersey Nets
The Nets went with probably the best young SG in this draft, Mitch Richmond. Richmond is only 24, and already has solid offensive ratings. If the Nets develop him right, he could be an extremely potent scorer in this league. Hopefully his defense will develop some more.
2nd pick:
F Terry Cummings: Have to love his scoring.
Meaningful selections:
SF Chris Morris
SG Gerald Wilkins
The Final Grade: B
The Nets had a good draft but didn't get a PG. Cummings + Richmond is going to be a great scoring combo.

17. Seattle Supersonics
The Supersonics didn't mess around with their 1st pick and took one of the best PGs in this draft, John Stockton. As a true PG, one could argue that Stockton is the best right now. There's no Malone, but that's OK as Stockton can make any of his teammates better because he's that good.
2nd pick:
SG Xavier McDaniel: Don't see him as a SG but why not. Plays with great energy, love athleticism.
Meaningful selections:
PF Dennis Rodman
C Robert Parish
The Final Grade: A-
The Sonics had a very solid draft. Their starting 5 is pretty well rounded, eash player knowing their role. They could use a better scorer at SF.

18. Phoenix Suns
With their first pick in the 2nd rd, the Suns drafted SG Bernard King. Terrible pick especially since they could've drafted someone like SG Reggie Lewis and build around him.
2nd pick:
SF Chuck Person: TRADED TO MAVERICKS
Young, great scorer. Traded for peanuts.
Meaningful selections:
SF Dan Majerle
The Final Grade: C
The Suns draft was all about future 1sts. I lost count as to how many they were able to acquire. I still don't understand why they took King over Reggie Lewis.

19. Houston Rockets
With ther first pick, the Rox went with a PG and a pretty solid one at that with Terry Porter. Not only do I like Porter's leadership and ball-handling, but I love the fact he's a deadly shooter. That will really help stretch the floor out for the Rox and help out their later pick Chambers score even better. Solid pick for the Rox.
2nd pick:
SF Glen RIce: Should be a nice scorer, but not just yet. Defense really needs work.
Meaningful selections:
F Tom Chambers
PG John Lucas
The Final Grade: A
Along with the Nuggets thus far, the Rox had one of the best drafts. This team on paper looks like an offensive juggernaut. Therefore, defense could be their achilles. Getting Rice for the future was a great move.

20. Atlanta Hawks
With their first pick, the Hawks went with the young gunner SG Reggie Miller. Miller is a developing offensive and defensive player, but I already love this outside game. Not only that, but Miller brings good leadership and has a contagious swagger that any GM loves. Miller is the face of the Hawks franchise for years to come.
2nd pick:
PG Michael Adams: Extremely fast, good defender, great shooter. Needs to limit TOs.
Meaningful selections:
C Mark Eaton
PF Horace Grant
The Final Grade: A-
The Hawks also had a great draft. From top to bottom on their starting 5, nothing but quality. Inside scoring could be their achilles.

21. New York Knicks
For the Knickerbockers, their first pick went to a bigman that was top 5 on my list PF Roy Tarpley. He may not block a lot of shots, but I love the fact he can score and rebound extremely well. Tarpley could easily be top 10 in rebounding this upcoming season.
2nd pick:
C Rik Smits: Great scoring compliment to Tarpley, need work with defense (shot blocking) and rebounding.
Meaningful selections:
The Final Grade: B
The Knicks were disappointed with their draft, and they should be. The best thing they were able to do was form a nice frontcourt with Smits and Tarpley.

22. Sacramento Kings
The Kings did some early trading around for future 1sts, and with their 1st pick in the 2nd rd, they decided to draft G Hersey Hawkins. Hawkins is already a nice shooter, but I prefer him at SG rather than PG. He has potential to be a nice scorer in this league, like a #2 or #3 type.
Meaningful selections:
The FInal Grade: B-
The teams that are building for the future, this might have been the best strategy wise for that goal. Not only getting a bunch of 1sts, they were able to 3-4 pretty solid young pieces.

23. Dallas Mavericks
With their first pick in the draft, the Mavs went with a pretty sturdy PG Mark Jackson. Jackson should be able to avg. 10-15 pts in his career, but most importantly, should have a really fine assist/TO ratio. Their GM is stats heavy, so good pick for the Mavs.
Meaningful selections:
The Final Grade: C
Maybe one of the worst drafts of any team, the Mavs currently have 4 players on their roster. They were able to get future 1sts and two good young pieces to build on, Jackson and Person. Brace yourselves Mavs fans, long season ahead.

24. Charlotte Hornets
The Hornets made one of the biggest blunders of this draft by selecting FC Benoit Benjamin. He's young and all, but has no upside in my opinion. Not only that, he is not a scorer at all, only having good abilities to block shots and rebound. Went too early. It would have been better for the Hornets to trade down and get some future 1sts if anything.
2nd pick:
SF Jerome Kersey: Good defender and rebounder for a SF. Scoring needs work especially Outside.
Meaningful selections:
PF Pervis Ellison
PG Doc Rivers
The Final Grade: D+
Probably the team with the worst draft. Yes, they were able to draft a few nice young players, but they did not acquire and 1sts really at all. Who knows where this franchise is going.

25. Vancouver Grizzlies
The Grizz decided to go with F Larry Nance with their 1st pick. Nance is a mismatch at PF because of his quickness. He's old, but he can still score and play good defense. Though he went a little early though.
2nd pick:
SG Reggie Lewis: Nice young prospect, should be a nice scorer and defender.
Meaningful selections:
PG Johnny Dawkins
The Final Grade: B
The Grizz had an OK draft. I really like their young picks of Lewis and Dawkins.

26. Milwaukee Bucks
With their first pick, the Bucks selected PG Tim Hardaway. Hardaway was high on my list because of his age and upside. Not only is he a good passer, but he's extremely elusive with his moves. Therefore, he can finish well at the basket. His outside is still developing, but Hardaway will be a nice scoring PG in this league. They've given up a lot of firsts, that could hurt them though.
2nd pick:
The Bucks this time went with G Ron Harper. Harper is developing into a nice scorer and defender. Him teaming up with Hardaway is nasty.
Meaningful selections:
PF Cadillac Anderson
PG Gary Grant
The FInal Grade: B-
THe Bucks were able to draft a really nasty future combo of Hardaway and Harper. This team still has some holes and it sucks that they traded some important 1sts, hance a lower grade then they should deserve with the talent they have.

27. Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers tried to trade out of the 1st rd but decided to select a player instead. They went with young F Danny Manning. Manning is still a raw defender and rebounder, but you have to love his offense at this point. With proper development, Manning should be a real solid overall player within years to come.
2nd pick:
PG Rod Strickland: Great pass first PG, will be top in assists for many seasons to come.
Meaningful selections:
G Vernon Maxwell
SF Johnny Newman
The Final Grade: B
This team is built for the future. I really like the picks of Manning, Strickland, Newman, and sleeper, Maxwell.

28. Utah Jazz
The Jazz went with C Rony Seikaly with their 1st pick. Seikaly is young but has sexy ratings already. I don't think he has a huge upside, but he should be a solid big man for years to come. Will be nice to seem him develop better scoring.
2nd pick:
PG Fat Lever: Good scoring PG.
Meaningful selections:
The Final Grade: B
The Jazz's major picks were Lever and Seikaly. They will be a decent team, but don't see them making major noise this season.

29. San Antonio Spurs
With their 1st pick, the Spurs selected PG Mark Price. I love Price's shooting abilities. He is deadly from 3 and even more so from the FT line. He will definitely help the Spurs late in close games. His defense and ball-handling are solid as well.
2nd pick:
F James Worthy: Will play SF for the Spurs. I like his finesse playing style.
3rd pick:
PF Charles Oakley: A brusier and great rebounder, perfect fit for the Spurs.
Meaningful selections:
C Bill Laimbeer
The Final Grade: A
The Spurs also had a very nice draft. They drafted for strenghts at each position which has helped them form a nice team. They should compete with the Rox, Nuggets, Sonics, etc. as one of the top teams out in the West this season.

I thought the Divac pick was way worse then the Bird one.
they are pretty even, Divac is younger so more years to offer.

Who cares about age in that situation? Divac coulda come with a 20 year contract for the minimum and a bunch of biggy titty Slav broads and I'd still call that the worst pick we've had so far, hehe.

Gotta say Bird was a better pick. Bird's still an elite player. I'm not sure if we'll ever be able to say anything close about Divac.

Yea I don't think that the Bird pick was that bad of a pick, I did think he would go a bit lower though. I know he's 32 but he's going to put up some beastly numbers for the next 2 or 3 years.

Yeah, the Bird pick was not bad. He's going to be a great player for another 2-3 years, and hopefully in that time span I can get the Celtics a 'ship.

I wouldn't say the Bird pick was bad or good, but I really didn't like what you did after that Luca. I don't think you've managed to put your team in any type of contention with that supporting cast you've put around Larry. You drafted him to go for the brass ring and didn't draft like that afterwards.

Thanks... I didn't know this was grade the Celtics' draft thread, but it's all good. I'm ready to roll with this squad... Hopefully, they'll be able to do better than y'all think.

Great job, man. You did great analyzing the picks/ trades and actually keeping up with this when many would have given upon tracking it all. Thanks for the good grade too :)
