Welcome to the SoulRed Productions (SRP) Community. If this is your first time here, and you're actually reading the rules, great! More communities could use people like you. Anyways, here are some ways to stay out of trouble. 1. Use common sense If it seems ridiculous, pointless, or offensive to you, don't post it. That's all I'm going to say on the matter. Things like pornography, racism, etc. are too obviously inappropriate to warrant their own separate rules. Trolling might seem fun, until one of our hungry mods eats you for breakfast. And don't worry, if you're not a troll, they might sniff you a bit but eventually they'll leave you alone. 2. Read the pinned threads There aren't many, but when you see them, please take a little time to look them over. I've been to a lot of forums where every other post by a mod is "Please read the pinned topic." I'm hoping that doesn't have to happen here. 3. Have a good time We aren't a ruthless administration here; we won't devour you for every little mistake (bar deliberate trolling...). Sure, we don't want you to go spamming our forums, quadruple posting, etc. but otherwise we're pretty relaxed, even if we do have a set of rules as seen here. We need the rules so we can enforce them if we need to, but we'll try to cut you some slack if your intentions are good. 4. Offensive stuff may be removed at any time It's up to our staff. If you have a problem with a decision, please feel free to take it up with an admin (but please don't post on the forums about how you hate moderator X because he locked your topic and deleted your posts etc.). Sometimes we can restore something previously deleted (but not always, so please don't specifically ask). Sending an angry PM to a mod also won't help. It's like referees in a basketball game; you can argue, but it won't change their decision and it'll just make them dislike you so you'll have a harder time with them in the future. Be nice to them and you'll get to know each other and they won't be so scary any more. 5. Offtopicness So many forums don't have specific guidelines for what is acceptably off-topic. In this forum, I've decided to make it easy and spell it out. Here it is: Offtopic-ness is fine in small doses. In larger doses it may cause fun but side effects include confusion, disorganization, swamp-ish-ness, heartburn, nausea, and sometimes death. Okay, maybe not the death part. That means it's okay to stray offtopic for a few posts, but please reconnect to the topic fairly quickly. Staff reserves the right to judge for themselves whether something is acceptably offtopic or not. Every moderator is different, however, so there's no guarantee whether they'll care or not. But what about the Party Room forum? Can we go offtopic there? The party room is for offtopic chat; but by offtopic, we mean "anything that doesn't fit into another forum." It may be offtopic, but it's still a forum. Please respect it by keeping discussions in their topic. Rule #5 above still applies (that is, there can be some offtopicness in each thread, but please get back on-topic soon). If you have something you really want to discuss that doesn't fit into something already there, simply create a new thread. Thanks! And that's it, my friend.
