The boy in striped pyjamas.

Set during WW2, basicly a nazi officers son befriends a jewish boy, an inmate in a nazi death camp, which ends in terrible tragedy

Outlander

The story is about a spaceship that crash lands on Earth - but in Earth's Iron age (Norway) only one survivor but he has brought a monster with him who likes to eat people, our guy is captured by the locals but they must now work together in order to be rid of the monster.

The film flows along nicely and the story is well delivered and nothing seems to be missing and everything is explained to how the monster there and he understands the language.

As can be guessed the film is an action film with enough good action and blood for it to fall into it's 15 category with out being stupidly gory.

This film is probably best watched in HD/Blu-ray if you can to get the most out of the visual effects. If you like movies that are easy to watch then I can definitely recommend this and you'll find it highly entertaining

I watched this and was kind of annoyed that the monster didn't fucking hurry up and eat everyone.

Having a film day today:

Observe & Report - nothing special - 5/10
Ghost of Girlfriends Past - chick flick - 3/10
Stripe - an 80's classic - 9/10
Year One - terribley terrible - 1/10

Got Antichrist, not sure when I will watch it, but the 'non-simulate gential mutilation' intrigues me.

SPOILER ALERT

Knowledge - pissed me off a treat - fucking aliens, could have gone for a cool finish, but had to have silvery aliens re-populating the earth with 'chosen' kids and white rabbits!!

meatyfiend is brilliant!
just watched Dead Snow
I enjoyed it, but i very much doubt it's to everyones taste.
black comedy, over the top gore, nazi zombies.
quite good, no where near as good as Shaun of the dead. (in had a similar kind of montage in it).

if you like that kind of film, watch it!
7/10

Bought Dead Snow on DVD a couple of weeks ago and it is hilarious.
If you haven't seen it yet, then go watch it. The gore is plentiful but done in a comic way a la Evil Dead and even though it's a foriegn film it's still got some good humour in it.

Highly recommended. 8/10

Bronson - the movie about Charlie Bronsons life as Britains most violent Prisoner ............ sigh!

Well this movie was clearly not meant to be an accurate description of his life (as much of it never actually happened) - it IS however a very artistic way of showing the guys mental state throughout ...

As a movie about a bloke in Jail , its not much cop , but as a movie about the inside of a man tortured by , well we arn't really sure ...... its very good .

For a mentalist , you do warm to Bronson , which is usually essential in these types of films ---

Oh the guy who acts the part of Bronson ,Tom Hardy does a brilliant job and capture insanity quite well LOL

hard to give this a score - but being harsh 4/10
mostly because its not factually accurate , now had this been deliberately fictional then help i dont know what to score it either .....

there is a great scene when he beats a Gypsie in a bare knuckle fight while on parole (all fiction) but when he is down he pisses on him ...
he turns to the guy watching him to see if he can use him as a fighter ,
the guy just says "You just pissed on a Gypsie !"

class!!!

Taken

Just watched this on Sky the other night.
Liam Neeson stars as an ex CIA operative whose daughter is kidnapped by Albanians in France. Story is the usual fair but this is a cracking film.
Lots of action and some great fight scenes. Very enjoyable.

8/10 :grin

Don't you mean a neck cracking film.

Seriously when i saw this at the pictures i lost count of how many necks he breaks.

i totally agree that is a quality film but that was one thing that really stood out to me.

Love honour and Obey - a british gangster movie made about 10yrs ago , with Jude Law , Ray Winstone and Sean Pertwee as the main characters .
this is a movie with a good dozen character stories orbiting the main plot of gang war between north n south london mobs .

Stand out moment is Denis Van Outen deep throating a cucumber for no real reason on the dining room table ,
defo recommend this , as its totally barmy
9/10

The men who stare at goats - 7/10

Saw this a couple of weeks ago. I was originally planning on seeing something else but missed the start and the next showing of anything i want to see was at least an hour wait. So i went to see this film without knowing anything about it.

I was completely suprised when i saw the opening credits saying that it had Ewen McGregor, George Clooney, Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey. I was thinking why i had never heard of this film considering such a high profile cast.

Plot wise its about this reporter who follows this retired super soldier through Iraq. Throughout the film there are flashbacks as Clooney describes how he was a member of a special army unit run by a hippy who's role is to develop super soldiers with psychic powers.

Full of laughs and a general good watch.

Twilight Saga: New Moon - 1/10

Let me start by saying that with the first film i was pleasently suprised with it. Before seeing it i had heard that its was a brilliant must see movie, that statement coupled with the fact that it was a chick flick based on a book written by a morman. I was expecting it to be really shit (I only went and saw it for a similar reason as the one above) and was very suprised that it was barerably alright (i think i gave it a 5) and i even decided to give the books a quick go over. I downloaded them and got through them in a week and was glad i didn't buy them.

With the first one i thought the film was better than the book considering that they managed to cut out alot of the dribble. Out of the books i think New moon was my favourite for one really good reason: The Gay emo (not even cool emo but the twat kind) wussy sparkle in sunlight vampires are hardly in it. Instead the focus is more towards the wolf pack (a bunch of native american werewolve) who are defenately much better than the gay blood-suckers.

I was hoping that that with the film that they would do what they did with the 1st and cut out the dribble and also hoping that they would do the wolf pack justice.
THEY DID NO SUCH THING.

This was the first time ever that i was so not into a film that at times i attempted to read the cinema mag in the dark.

Note; sorry about any bad spelling and such but my spell check has stopped working and i can't be bothered to go over everything i just wrote.

Maybe because you never watched any TV, they advertised it in almost every ad break leading up to it's general release.
