i've toyed with getting a blu ray player a few times but tbh i don't think they're quite worth the cash just yet, not so much the players but the discs. i certainly wouldn't splash out £300 sheets for another console just to use it as a player when we all know the xbox is a better games machine.
i might get a blu ray drive for my p.c or laptop if/when the price of blank discs comes down a bit.

if you really do want one then pc shopper mag has a lab on them this month, and recommends sony BDPS350(£163) and samsung BD-P1500(£150).

ahhhh Bluray i love new things and ive been toying with the bluray idea for a while , not sure why im holding off - maybe its coz i dont see the upgrade from DVD being anything special ,

the move from VHS to DVD gave a new way to watch movies , make special features , commentry and extra stuff possible . But BR is for the most part just for the eye candy ---

The do give a great picture , but unless its action or sci fi the enhancements arnt a biggie n for me those genres of movie dont fizzle me shizzle .

Ill probably wait till they are £100 , plus im about to hook up my other Lappy to the telly in anticipation of playing HiDef movies via itunes

DVD still have years left in them, i think once HDTVs and HD-TV (i.e. skyHD) becomes more widespread thats when their days are numbered.

I think its still true that the PS3 is the best blu-ray player option out there, i know i would get one if i had the money, the space and a HDTV.
