Thought i'd create a thread for discusion about films based on video games. First of here's a quick list of the ones i liked: * Super Mario Bros (yeah i know its crap but it's a good crap film). * Resisdent Evil 1+2 ( i still have to see the 3rd) * Silent Hill (good but deviated to much) * Final Fantasy: spirits within * Hitman I want bother with a list of bad ones as there are so many, however i would like to mention a special director called Uwe Boll. Uwe Boll is a director with a passion for Game films. The only problem is that his passion is like the retard bloke in "of Mice an Men" and his love for rabbits. He has made the largest number of game films (outside of japan) and everyone has been box office flops (e.g. Bloodrayne cost $25mil to make and made $2.2mil). All have featured in Rotton Tomatoes top (or is that bottom) 100 worst films list at least once and some have earn permanant placements. Despite this he still churns them out and makes lots of money (only due to a weird German Tax Law), also despite the opinion of every professional film critic in the world he still believes he is a good director. I could go on and on about this bloke but can't be arsed, however i will include some funny qoutes. Hideo Kojima's response to rumurs that Boll was being considered for MGS: "Absolutely not! I don't know why Uwe Boll is even talking about this kind of thing. We've never talked to him. It's impossible that we'd ever do a movie with him." Blizzard Entertainment refused Boll's request to make a World of Warcraft adaptation; Boll said, "I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard, and he said, 'We will not sell the movie rights, not to you... especially not to you.'" |

I would have to agree with your list but remove Mario and replace it with Street Fighter (The animated version and not that other shit one)

Lols, I cant believe Hideo kojima sed that about Uwe Boll, thats jokes. Uwe Boll is infamous for making bad game to film translations. He's making the shadow of the collosus film, I wonder which game he'll piss on next. I agree with gee about street fighter, live action = terrible, anime = classic. I've seen haloid and dead fantasy, Monty Oum is genius |

the Chronicles of Riddick was a game released on the X box with a released version on the 360, the first game was very challenging with out being too tough and the films are great |

I can't think of any good film based on games, only bad one's!. Although technically GI Joe will be based on a game, in name at least, and it looks pretty good! |

Riddock the game was based on the film so doesn't count. GI Joe is based on the cartoon which was based on the action figure. Saw the latest Resident Evil anime movie a while ago and it wasn't half bad. |

Alien vs Predator was the game first? My memory has had it but I recall the film was ok or is my memory worse than I think. |
