selflessly i'll start it off...

best i have found so far..,

i used to have a small dean markley practice amp. you could get some amazing tones on it. the laney looks like of the better of the two for me, range of e.q customization and compressor plus you can use it as a big stereo when needed with the phono inputs.

no idea about the drum monitors tho, i can ask one of my drummer pals but not i'm not sure when i'll see them next.

Although i've yet to buy a guitar, amp etc and basically know nothing about amps. I'd like to mention the Roland Micro Cube.

I was shown this when i was looking in a music shop and was very impressed with it considering that it is battery powered and is only 2W (All the people were shocked when told it was only 2 W cos ity could be loud).

http://www.firebox.com/product/1893/Roland-Micro-Cube?src_t=wnw

Like i said i really don't know anything about amps but when i finally get a guitar i'm also going to get one of these.

that looks pretty desent, some good effects and nice and compact. a good amp to start out on.

i need a new amp on the subject of that but nothing with effects built in as i've got an effect peddle. amps that do effects are good apart from when you want to change mid-way through a song, thats why i use one of these:

cheers guys , i was leaning to the Laney , (or Orange Krush box for something even cheaper) but as the Laney has a compressor its makes sense to me ,

Im gonna have to have a good scurry around as to what will work best for the drums , ive plugged Sr-16s ,and 101s into home speaker set ups before and they sound fine , but this kit may require something that has to handle Bass much more and worry less about hi-freq' - im not sure ,
I have an old squire practice amp 15w , ill see what snare hihats n cymbals sound like thru that before i decide ..

in a step to combat poor connection on my beloved xbox i've ditched the wireless adaptor and went for a set of these bad boys

d-link dhp 301 powerline/ethernet adaptors

set-up couldn't be more easy just plug them in and they work. 200mbs transfer speeds so it's all about my actual dsl line speed now.
proof will be in the pudding now when i actually get time to sit down and play a game or ten. certainly no complaints so far.

edit: forgot to mention these things have had a bit of a price drop recently

lol well of course brain farting aside I was wondering about how you connect your xbox to it... but its two ethernet cables. I think i might go for the netgear ones as they sell the plug adaptors independantly...

i dont understand what they are for , i only know of 2 ways to conect to XBL
1 via wireless dongle in the back of xbox to a wireless router
2 direct from xbox to router via ethernet cable
oh and
3 Internet shared connection - which was shite when i had it a few years back

they are the same as option 2 you listed above. they just turn your powerlines into an ethernet cable. so instead of having a wireless adaptor i now pug my xbox into one of these babies, plug that into a socket then i plug the other one into a socket next to my router then plug my router into that. hey presto an instant network.

daz, well at the risk of brainfarting in final's general direkshunn, this is a bit of kit that transmits your broadband signal through your electrical wiring to all your wall sockets. you plug the main bit into the router via ethernet cable, then plug that main bit into the wall, then in another room, take the other bit and plug that into the wall socket with another ethernet cable attached to your xbox and you get xboxlive.

its all very fangled.

does anybody use any kind of video sender gizmo on their telly's? i want to wirelessly send whats on my sky+box upstairs to t.v's in the kids bedrooms, which are also upstairs. i've only had expierience of one type of gizmo and quite frankly it was fucking terrible.

i currently have one co-axial cable running from my room into one of the boys rooms but it's just not feasible to run another.

we had one of those wireless video sender wossits - so that the kids could watch sky upstairs .... you can only watch the programme the sky box is showing tho ----- it worked very well --- distance as the crow flies was about 35-40 ft thru floors n walls ....

we got it from Toys r US about 3 years ago ,£50 back then , i would like to think there is a technical improvement on this shizzle me fizzle

before i left woolies they only just started to look at the state of the stockrooms and the amount of old stock and shit that wouldn't sell that was left. there is a few million quids worth of stock lying in them stores that is absolute shit, they can't shift it, but they won't just get rid.

woolies never put decent sales on entertainment item, even staff only get 10% off games/cd's/dvd's in there.

it looks like there are a few online retailers throwin a few prices down, tryin to bring back some customers that started to go to the supermarkets for the good deals. long may the pissing war continue and they reduce a bit more

If you know anyone who works at Blockbusters, they get 20% off on the redeamable codes!

I currently work for Morrisons (well for another 2 weeks at least) and I get 10% off the codes. Could try there but not sure about online deals....

Also, while I remember, Morrisons have slashed the prices of some of the left over stock from EUK going bust that they were left with. Gears of War 2 is only £15 atm, there are some others, but the main stuff they have dropped in price is a shit load of Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS games. Too many to list but they are only £6.99 atm while stocks last.

Might be worth a look if anyones interested....

that's not a bad price. saw X-box elite in Argos with fifa10 and ODST for £194.97 which with my maths practically makes the console for free if you bought the whole thing separately

if fifa 10 is 25 earth pounds and odst is 30, then my maths make that 55 squids. so far from costing "for free" it will cost 140 large. still not a bad price as that will be with the 120gb hdd.

i dunno if anybody needs to renew their xbox live subscription, but i've just got 12 months+1 for only £31.99, on play.com, code gets e-mailed to you fairly damn quick as well

thats 13 month of xbox live for 32 quid, thats about £2.60 a month as opposed to £4.99!!!

with a 120gb costing £120 lets make that £20 for a console then.

I would have used the RRP because the game prices vary from retailer to retailer

FIFA 10 -£49.99
ODST - £39.99

Total - 89.99
