Ten is a classic album that sits proudly in my CD collection and a masterpiece of rock.
Meaty you need to pull your head out of your speakers for 5 minutes and stop listening to bands that can't play so make up for it by just making a really loud noise and get your lugs round this classic album.

And Journey will be getting downloaded by me next week just for the cheese factor. :grin

Locations: Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360

The tracks will be downloadable from 9 June for the Xbox 360 and Wii, 11 June for the PS3. This coincides with the release of Flight 666 on DVD and Blue Ray, a documentary of Iron Maiden's first leg in the Somewhere Back In Time World Tour.

Live recordings of “Aces High,” “Hallowed Be Thy Name,” “Fear of the Dark” and “Iron Maiden,” which feature on Flight 666, are among the 12 tracks available for download, the other tracks also featured on the tour.

“Fans have been asking us to do something with Rock Band for some time, and this seemed to be a perfect opportunity,” said Maiden manager Rod Smallwood. “Our recent Somewhere Back in Time tour was perhaps the most enjoyable one we have ever undertaken and certainly the most successful with almost 2 million people catching the shows around the world. So it just seemed a good idea to make some of the songs we played available now so fans can play along with the band on the tour. Then we shall see if they can keep up with the band!!”

The full list of tracks is as follows:

“Aces High (live)” Flight 666 (2009)
“2 Minutes to Midnight” Powerslave (1984)
“The Trooper” Piece of Mind (1983)
“Wasted Years” Somewhere in Time (1986)
“The Number of the Beast” The Number of the Beast (1982)
“Run to the Hills” The Number of the Beast (1982)
“Can I Play With Madness” Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (1988)
“The Clairvoyant” Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (1988)
“Powerslave” Powerslave (1984)
“Hallowed Be Thy Name (live)” Flight 666 (2009)
“Fear of the Dark (live)” Flight 666 (2009)
“Iron Maiden (live)” Flight 666 (2009)

Players can purchase these tracks individually for all three platforms mentioned above, or as part of the Iron Maiden Pack for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The price is $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) for the Xbox 360 per track, $19.99 (1600 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for “Iron Maiden Pack”, or $2.00 (200 Wii Points) per track.

Any hope Rock Band owners had about playing some of Michael Jackson's greatest hits will have to put on hold for the time being.

Newly appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager of MTV Games Scott Guthrie told IGN in an interview this morning the company hasn't thought about releasing a DLC track pack in light of the artist's recent death.

"There's nothing in the works right now on that," said Guthrie.

Key words being "right now," of course.

can't be hooped starting a new thread for the upcoming lego rockband but it fit's quite nicely in here too, huzzah!

Quote:

A highly placed Harmonix source told Wired's Game Life blog that the set list for the upcoming LEGO Rock Band title can be exported to your hard drive, allowing you to play all the songs under your currently owned Rock Band title.

This of course, as it did last time, will cost a small fee (possibly $5 like previously) but it's a small price to pay for convenience.

The Harmonix source also told Game Life that Queen, The White Stripes and The Raconteurs are all heading to Rock Band as DLC in the near future.

Whilst the article doesn't date or name most of the Queen tracks, just expect Under Pressure and 9 other songs to drop this coming October.

The Raconteurs will also see their three pack, including Steady As She Goes, come in October, with The White Stripes' three pack following in November. The White Stripes three pack will consist of “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground,” “Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine” and “Icky Thump.”

LEGO Rock Band is currently scheduled for a holiday release.

Crazy Kiwi due Flight of the Conchords missed out on an Emmy for their now cancelled TV series yesterday, but did take time out on the red carpet to reveal that a 3 track pack from Brett & Jermaine will be headed to Rock Band at some point in the future.

When asked the guys did not know which songs would be included, but as their new album 'I Told You I Was Freaky' is due at the end of October it'd be a safe bet that at least one of those tracks will make it into the pack

Harmonix has released a significant patch for Rock Band 2, which adds and fixes a swathe of features. It's out now on Xbox 360 and is apparently in certification for PlayStation 3.

Chief among them is a new Audition mode for the Rock Band Network, where users can upload songs from their PCs to try them out using the game's tools.

The Network is currently in closed beta, but opens up in the coming weeks according lead designer Dan Teasdale on the Rock Band website (spotted by Joystiq).

Background downloads and the ability to stack multiple songs will soon be reality, and the patch also enables Xbox 360 wireless microphone support.

Hammer-on and pull-offs are being improved, too, and the Ion Drum Kits will soon be velocity-sensitive. Finally, there's a Sort By Stars option coming to the Quick Play mode, so you can see which songs you have played and mastered at a glance.
