Next week's downloadable content for Harmonix's Rock Band will be what the developer refers to as the MTV2 three-pack, plus an additional track from post-punk revival rockers Maximo Park.

The MTV2 pack includes "Moving to Seattle" by the Material, "A Clean Shot" by the Myriad, and "Bullets and Guns" by Them Terribles. The sole Maximo Park track up on offer is "Girls Who Play Guitars," which is not included in the MTV2 pack. All four of the songs are master recordings.

All four tracks will be sold individually for 80 Microsoft Points ($.99) a piece, while the MTV2 three-pack is offered at the non-discounted price of 240 Microsoft Points ($2.99).

As always, the tracks will be available for download on the Xbox 360 edition of Rock Band on June 10, followed by a PlayStation 3 release on Thursday, June 12.

well what track will it be , i cant be doing with the fuckers voice the twat with the bowler hat ;) - but hey its not 70s - on a side not what is "post-punk revival rockers" and are Maximo Park meant to be revivers of punk LOL!!! reminds me of a rick from young ones quote ..

Quote:

New York, NY, June 27th, 2008 – To celebrate Crüefest, one of this summer’s hottest concert packages, MTV Games and Harmonix announced today that a special collection of tracks from some of the tour’s heaviest hitters has been added to the Rock Band™ catalog of downloadable content. Songs from mega-platinum legends Mötley Crüe (“Down At The Whisky”), Grammy nominees Papa Roach (“Time Is Running Out”) and hard rockers Trapt (“Who’s Going Home With You Tonight”) will be available for a limited time at a special price of 99¢ per track or 80 Microsoft Points from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The tracks will be available July 1st, coinciding with the same day launch of the Crüefest in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Rock Band is also teaming up with Crüefest for the length of the tour, with Rock Band competitions taking place in every market. Fans and players can hit the Rock Band Second Stage Experience and compete for the chance to play the game onstage as opening acts of the headliners, win backstage passes to the Rock Band VIP area, score a meet and greet with all the artists on the tour and play Rock Band backstage with Crüefest artists.

Also available for download is “Promised Land” from fictitious hair metal band Vesuvius, featured in the upcoming Fox comedy The Rocker, featuring Rainn Wilson. In the film, Wilson plays Robert "Fish" Fishman, the drummer for ‘80s hair band Vesuvius. He lives the rock n' roll dream...until he gets kicked out of the group. Twenty years later, the desperate rocker joins his nephew's band, "A.D.D.," finally reclaiming the rock-god throne he's always thought he deserved—while taking his much younger bandmates along for the ride of their lives.

Each of the Crüefest tracks will be available for 99¢ per track (80 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) or $2.99 (240 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for the entire collection of tracks. “Promised Land” will be available for free.

August 19th DLC is ready to be announced! This week we're hopping into the wayback machine and setting the dial for the early '80s. We've got a pair of tracks each from two of new wave's most influential and altogether awesome bands in Duran Duran and Devo! And as a special aside, the Devo tracks are new recordings from the band, made special for Rock Band! Each track goes for 160 MSP ($1.99).

Also this week we present a track from the Janitors, "Get Your Rock On," which is featured on the American Mall soundtrack. That song will go for 80 MSP ($0.99).

You'll be able to snag all of these tracks on Xbox Live Marketplace on Tuesday, and the PlayStation Network Store on Thursday.

TRACKS:

Devo - "Girl U Want" (new original recording) - 160 MSP - $1.99

Devo - "Through Being Cool" (new original recording) - 160 MSP - $1.99

Duran Duran - "Girls on Film" - 160 MSP - $1.99

Duran Duran - "Rio" - 160 MSP - $1.99

The Janitors - "Get Your Rock On" - 80 MSP - $0.99

All tracks are masters.

looks like there will be a small licence fee to expand our original rock band songs and dlc onto rock band 2, around $5 is the figure i've seen being touted. once the fee is paid you get a code that enables you to rip the songs from the original disc onto your hard drive for use in the new game.
absolutley nothing stopping somebody borrowing/renting the 1st game and paying the 5 bucks for all the content (final)

provisional uk street date 19th september, but none of the game shopping sites have it listed.

Oh Man i used to have this album ON VINYL in my headbanging childhood days.
Some damn good songs too but Rush are an aquired taste. You either love em or hate em.
Tell you what though, they will be challenging as fuck because Rush were always very technical with there approach to music. All 3 of them were very talented so there should be some good rock banding to be had. :grin

Today, Harmonix officially announced that the Rock Band disc export, the update that allows most all Rock Band songs to be available in Rock Band 2, is now available for download off the XBLM. Though, it doesn't really do anything until Rock Band 2 releases. The disc export update will set you back 400 Microsoft points ($5) and will import 55 of the Rock Band songs into the game sequel. 55 songs seem a little light? Well, you're correct. Sadly, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica, "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath, "Run to the Hills" by Iron Maiden and the European exclusive "Monsoon" by Tokio Hotel will not be a part of the transfer. We can only speculate to why a re-license agreement couldn't be made.
