by phillip pullman.

the mrs bought it me for crimbo and i have to say, upto now, brilliant read.
some may already know, these 3 books (northern lights-the amber spyglass-the subtle knife) or rather the first in the trilogy(northern lights) is what 'the golden compass' was based upon.
i havnt seen the film yet but after reading the first book, if its true to the storyline, it's gotta be pretty impressive.

i'd reccomend it to anybody who reads books, brilliant.

i'll let you know what i think of the second one when ive read it.

Yeah they are very good books. I first read them about 3yrs ago and have re-read at least 4 times since.

One thing i've been meaning to do since reading them is read Milton's 'Paradise lost' considering that it is the main influence.

I have a compulsion to read any book that are subject to church book burnings.
