It has now been confirmed that Codemasters have now aquired the official F1 licence that was exclusivly held by Sony. Sony was rumoured to have ditched the official licence after a dispute with the sport's governing body over a "hefty increase" in costs for the deal. And with Codemasters snapping up the licence, this is good news for non-playstation owners because Codemasters have confirmed that they will release an F1 game across multiple platforms.
Codies didn't hint at when its first F1 title will hit, but don't expect to see anything until next year and is expected to be based on next season's roster. The game is being developed with the developer's own EGO engine, the same one being used in GRID. Edited by Gee, May 9 2008, 06:18 PM.
