Hello I noticed yesterday that COD4 did a game update, i played it and couldnt see any difference so i had a look around the forums and found that IW have capped the fire rate for pistols and semi automatics so trying to defeat the modded controller gang, after reading that i did play yesterday a few games of of team tac and didnt come across any modded controllers you normally find them on that mode.
Also read that to combat the modded controller Treyach change daily the FPS (frames per second) the game runs at which defeats the updates for modded controllers in world at war and people were saying IW need to do this for COD4 to keep ahead of the modders. Hope something is in place for MW2 when its released to stop this from happening.

providing they sort this for mw2, have no glitches to be exploited and have the server capacity then it'll be great... but they won't have all that i'm guessing

Infinity Ward has long been a company praised for their great decisions in the "Call of Duty" series, or more specifically, the "Modern Warfare" series. However, after their recent patch of Call of Duty 4 for the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3, gamers are outraged. What the patch does is prevent Hackers and Modders from firing their Semi-Automatic weapons at a fully automatic rate-of-fire using modded controllers or hacks. The patch puts a time limit in between each shot. After every shot, their is a .5 second time limit before the gun can shoot again. This isn't too slow, but still slow enough. Call of Duty 4 is filled with Elite gamers who can pull the trigger of their XBOX 360 controller at incredible speeds. However, with the new patch, they can no longer shoot as fast as their finger can pull the trigger. I too, can even pull the trigger faster than this patch. Many gamers have even left the game completely because of the patch. Infinity Ward normally always makes great decisions, but this was a bad one. The time limit should be slightly less like .35-.4 seconds. Will Infinity Ward create a new patch to undo this patch? Or will they just say "forget it" and look toward Modern Warfare 2? That nobody knows.

A simple Google search will find you multiple petitions to get the patch removed. Jump into the feedback if this concerns you as well.
