Here you can recommend a download(s) but it must be freeware and virus free and used by yourself. Also before recommending a download(s) please check that it has not already been posted. Glary Utilities This is the software publisher's description. Offers numerous powerful and easy-to-use system tools and utilities to fix, speed up, maintain and protect your PC. It allows you to clean common system junk files, as well as invalid registry entries and Internet traces. You can manage and delete browser add-ons, analsze disk space usage and find duplicate files. You can also view and manage installed shell extensions, encrypt your files from unauthorized access and use, split large files into smaller manageable files and then rejoin them. Furthermore, Glary Utilities includes the options to optimize memory, find, fix, or remove broken Windows shortcuts, manage the programs that start at Windows startup and uninstall software. Other features include secure file deletion, an Empty Folder finder and more. All Glary Utilities tools can be accessed through an eye-pleasing and totally simplistic interface. You can download it here Another download will be announced next week Also if anyone has a download that they would like recommend, then PM me the link and I may add it and give you credit for recommending it. This weeks download is Absolute Uninstaller. Not only will this program delete unwanted programs, it will also target and delete any leftover items and registry entries that window uninstaller ignores. Absolute Uninstaller also has a handy batch-removal option that lets you uninstall multiple programs in one go. You can download the program HERE Please note, if you are using Glary Utilities, then this program is included in that program. |

First up I've decide that I won't be recommending a download every week, but will recommend one as and when I come across one. FileHippo.com Update Checker is a small program (149kb) and will scan your PC and display any updates (including any Beta programs) in your web browser for you to download. You can download it here Also if anyone wants to recommend a download(s) then that's OK but please check that it has not already been posted here already. Edited by Gee, May 12 2008, 11:12 PM.

Only just heard about this and thought it would be good for some of you. http://www.torproject.org From what i've heard is that this is a little program that will allow you to access any blocked website. For example you work in an office that has blocked youtube on all comps or maybe you live in China and actually want to use the internet. From what i've heard you can run it straight from a flash drive (without installing) and has its own browser, so is really ideal for those among us who want to browse the forums at work but can't like i said i have only just heard of this and so know practically fuck all about how it works but if interested give it a look. |

not sure if this has been posted about before but i know gee turned me onto it a while ago and i used it then forgot about it for a while. tversity is now one of my must have apps and whilst not strictly free (it works on an honour system that if you use the pro version you'll pay for it) there is an equally good free version what it does is stream media content stored on your p.c to any sort of media device on your network, in my case 3 xboxes. with the latest update (as of april) you can now also stream the bbc iplayer from the net straight to your xbox which is pretty fucking handy. also handy for me is the fact you browse files just like in windows so if you have untagged or messily named files then you can still find them by the folder tree/file path. anyhoo back to the point.... here's a link to the tversity homepage, i highly recommend people having a look at this fantasic software. tversity home page |

I stopped using for a bit but have gone back to it due to the fact that my 360 (for no reason) couldn't find my PC but can find it with tversity installed. I've also tried Orb which is basically the same thing but couldn't get on with that. |
