connect Vista basic to x box; new lappy wont do it

Posts: 314 Group: Clan Member Member #17 Joined: Dec 29, 2007	Hey all, I can't get my lappy to media share with my xbox, the sites i've looked up say you need premium? the lappy has media player 11 which i have on my old laptop and it works fine, any suggestions. Cheers

Posts: 0 Group: Member Member #146 Joined: Jan 5, 2009	hi have you turned on media sharing in WMP 11? some info here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01473450&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3724770 also, do you have a firewall that could be blocking it? this is for the media center extender part. is the laptop connected via wireless? as i dont think you can use the xbox as an extender if so, (media center) but you should still be able to use the stream option on the xbox.
