xar called fex to to his side as he raised his hand to greet Fleuria as he saw her conjure up her staf. he hadn't thought she would think of being attacked so fast after seeing Fex. "don't attack. it's me. i kinda got a bit injured and lost some speed when trying to catch up with you." slowly he got closer to her so she could see it was just him and not someone pretending to be him. |

Neve reawakened before Lornayth and Elita to the sound of shifting sand. Her head rose from the scaly fish in response to it. The sound intensified, and without warning, a sinkhole appeared in the beach beneath the pair. Neve cried out in fear, leaping into the circle of sinking sand. Lornayth opened his eyes slowly; to him, the funneling sand sounded only slightly different from the waves tumbling against the shore, so until he witnessed the beach rising above him, he thought nothing of it. His eyes widened. "What's going on?!" he shouted. The sand sank rapidly. In mere moments, Lor, Elita, and Neve tumbled into a dark, muddy cavern. His hands and feet squished in the mud as he landed. "Erm.. Am I dreaming?" |

Elita hit the ground and shrieked. She stood and felt her toes sink into mud. "W-what happened?" Elita almost started crying. She stood still and closed her eyes. "L-Lorn-ayth?" She waved her arms around frantically but couldn't find him anywhere. "He-he-help" She whispered while tears started forming in her eyes. |

Lor reached out and grabbed her by the wrist. He made sure to turn his head away before letting pity fill his expression. "We fell, I guess.." he said, stating the obvious. "No idea what this place is supposed to be, though." He cupped one hand next to his mouth and shouted straight up the sand pit they'd fallen through. "HELLO?!" His voice echoed as it traveled up the walls of the sandy hole. By the sound of it, he wasn't sure if anyone would be able to hear unless they leaned in close to the pit.. And he couldn't decide with any certainty if that meant bringing another member of the Spades down with them. "Well, as strange as this is, there must be a way out.. This is probably some kind of trade tunnel.." Then again.. Why would anyone build a trade tunnel on the coastline? Lornayth started walking toward the edge of the faint moonlight flooding in from above. He stretched his arm out into the darkness. As though responding to their presence, something inside the cavern growled. "Um.." |

Elita stepped behind Lornayth. She shivered and clung to him. The growling sound frightened her and she didn't want to encounter anymore monsters. She screamed up into the air. "Tynne! Tynne!" Soon, without command the fox jumped into the hole and growled too. "Lornayth, What do we do if that is another monster..?" Elita pressed hard against his skin and sniffled. |

"Cross our fingers and hope we can handle it alone, I guess." Lornayth took a step back and spread his arms wide, prepared to defend Elita in case something leaped out at them. After all, she didn't have her bow or quiver.. For that matter, she was still only wearing his shirt. The growl filled the room a second time. He listened to what sounded like clawed toes sloshing through the mud. Neve slipped into the darkness, circling around the edges of the room. Unlike her master, she could see throughout the muddy cavern with ease. It was a roughly circular room with a small passageway leading upward on one end. In the opposite corner lay a pile of bones. Though she didn't understand the situation, she acknowledged the presence of the grubby creature stepping toward Lor and Elita. It resembled a mole with the snout and teeth of a wolf. It growled again, moving into the circle of light at the center of the room. Lor immediately formed a set of ice knives in each of his hands and threw them at it. The knives slashed across its furry snout, and it growled louder in rage. "Get back!" Lor shouted. *85/120 MP* |

Elita still kept her hands tight around Lornayth's stomach and cried softly. If it was a monster, she didn't know what she could do. Tynne saw Elita's shaking body and ran towards the monster. He jumped on top of it and bit it right behind the skull. He growled louder and attempted to drag the beast around. Elita backed up slightly letting go of Lor. She felt a large rock under her feet and lifted it from the mud. She held it tight and then tried to make out the shapes in the dark. She could see Tynne's white frame and threw the rock where nothing could be seen. |

The rock cracked against the beast's head, and it howled to the distant, unseen moon in anguish. It burrowed into the mud beneath its feet with Tynne still attached. Lornayth called forth a wall of ice to protect himself from the mud splattering out of the hole. "What is this thing supposed to be..?" he muttered. Neve turned her head, revealing her glowing, blue eyes. She stood near the exit as their guiding light. Lor knew they couldn't simply abandon Tynne, however. He readied another set of six ice knives and closed his eyes to listen for the mole creature's burrowing. It emerged behind them and lunged at Elita with its jaws wide open. Lornayth flung the knives at its open mouth three at a time. They split open its tongue and jabbed the roof of its mouth, inspiring further screams of horror. He wasted no time in charging at the creature as it lurched back and forth on the edge of the starlight. He placed one hand on top of and one below the animal's fur-covered snout. Ice streamed from his hands, effectively freezing it shut. "You stupid animal.." he grumbled darkly. He took a step back and let it terrify itself by clawing at the ice over its snout. Tynne sat beside Elita, guarding her. The coast was clear for Lor to torture their attacker.. He summoned three more ice knives and took one into his free hand. "Don't screw with me.." he warned - though perhaps it was too late for the creature to spare its own life. He chucked the dagger at the wolf-mole's chest. As blood surged out of the fresh wound, it whimpered. The next dagger struck a little lower. That's right.. Beg for your life. He brought his arm back to throw the last dagger. Instead, though, he tossed it at the beast's feet. "You just might survive.. Don't try your luck with us again." He turned, brushing mud off his bare chest with ice crystals. He took Elita's hand and led her after Neve, who guided them into the passageway ahead. It was a steep climb to the surface, and they could hardly see except for the glow in the cat familiar's eyes, but they eventually emerged from a tiny hole on the forest's edge. Lor rolled out of the burrow and onto his back. "That definitely belongs in the list of my ten strangest experiences.." *45/120 MP* |

"Oh, it's you," said Fleuria after turning around to see Xar. She shot a glare towards Volair. Was it truly necessary to react in such a manner to just another falcon? Surely you could have figured out it held no threat. Fleuria shook her head and shifted her weight to be supported on her staff. She wouldn't dismiss the weapon back to its portal just yet- she still had reason to be wary of this Xar character. There was always the chance his decision to support her was just a ruse. Fleuria would have had to keep her guard up a while longer. "So..." she began, still in a fairly downward mood- she hadn't fully sorted her mind with all her melancholy thoughts of her parents. "Is there anything I can do for you, Xar?" |

"i don't really know. i got a bit behind and kinda slightly hurt my foot so that's why i'm a bit late. Few already told me you and the others weren't together so i kinda chose to come to you since i swore to serve you. so guess i'm the one that should ask what i can do for you?" he really meant he wanted to serve her since it took his mind of the past and kept him from building up any rage. as long as he had a clear short term goal he didn't had to worry about getting enraged. |
