Elita looked at Lornayth shocked. She nodded slowly and gave him a confused look. "Well, okay.." She stood and walked into deeper water, but still shallow enough to stand in. "Now, stand here and then lay in the water." She did this action her self. "Then put your knees on the ground and stroke your arms in big circles. Over and over." She also imitated this action and smiled. She then pushed out a little bit. Her feet no longer touched the ground and she began to kick. "Then kick up and down, and keep your head above the water. If you need me to I'll hold your hands while you kick." Elita smiled gently and floated vertically in the water. |

Lornayth lay in the wet sand and moved his arms in circular patterns for a few minutes, familiarizing himself with the procedure. It seemed simple enough. Following Elita's example, he pushed himself a little deeper and began kicking with his legs. He sank underneath the water, leaving only a trail of bubbles in his wake. Five seconds later, he rose above the water with a frown and coughed up a mouthful of water. "I'll try again.." he said patiently. As he walked back toward the shore - toward Fleuria, he kept his eyes firmly locked on the water ahead of him. Don't look her in the eyes.. It'll be the end of you, Lor. |

Fleuria grinned watching Lor come back to shore. "Come, come now!" she called out him, "You can do better than that, can't you Lornayth?" she chuckled lightly. She plopped down into the sand, removing her boots. She watched the waves come to playfully tickle her feet and then retreat from her. She smiled. This will be a nice evening. Ignoring Fleuria's comments, Lor placed himself on his stomach in the sand again. His arms made the same motions. He even practiced kicking, as strange as it must've looked to the princess from ashore. He pulled himself forward. Focus on staying afloat.. Just stay above the surface.. The water deepened. Be like the ice.. His feet kicked steadily up and down, just barely keeping his nose out of the water. He swam for about ten feet before he descended into the water yet again. Almost angrily, he forced himself back out. His legs kicked rapidly beneath his body and bobbed him up and down with the waves. "Okay, that's not so bad.." he said with a grin. Then a wave came and toppled him over into the water. |

Elita rushed to Lornayth. She held him out of the water and smiled. "That is good enough Lornayth." She kissed him softly. She walked him out of the water onto the shore. It occurred then to Elita that it was a problem sitting in wet clothes. She quickly decided it would be better to wrap her self in her blanket she had brought and hide her self in that. "I'll be back.." She said as she stood up and pulled the blanket and walked into the woods. She made sure she was out of view and changed. she wrapped the thin blanket around her self almost like a towel. It dragged down on the ground. Elita grabbed the access fabric in her hand and walked with her wet clothes in the other. She sat back down on the beach, as if in a dress. She sat sit with her legs folded at her side. |

Lornayth sat beside Elita with an arm wrapped around her waist. He considered taking off his pants and prancing around in his boxers, but for some reason, that idea made the back of his head ache. "Thanks," he told her in simple terms. While Presence had taught him basic things such as how to read and write, how to hold a staff, and how to run errands for guild members more important than himself, Lor felt a significance in learning something from Elita. Unlike the science of purchasing fruit from a market stand, knowing how to swim might just save his life someday. Neve circled around Lor once and jumped into his lap. The kitten purred as she rubbed her head against his hand. While he had been out half-drowning for the sake of progress, his familiar was relaxing in the rays of the setting sun. She was now entirely dry. "I could use you as a towel.." he muttered under his breath. |

Fleuria glanced over at Elita and Lornayth. She smiled lightly. They were happy- despite Lor's seemingly sudden disdain for his kitten. She sighed contently falling back into the sand and rolling onto her side. She mindlessly picked up the sand and let it pour back to the ground again. She closed her eyes, taking in the sound of the waves washing over her feet. Fleuria's serenity waves disrupted by a gurgle from her stomach. She was hungry- when was the last time they'd eatten? Sitting up, Fleuria looked over to Elita and Lornayth, again. "Are perhaps any of you profoundly skilled in fishing?" Edited by Fleuria, Aug 14 2009, 10:27 PM.

Elita Stood and looked to her bow and arrows. She smiled and picked them up. "It should only take me about thirty minutes. I'll be back with something to eat, alright?" Elita turned to Tynne. "You too, go looking for something I can cook up, hm?" She smiled and walked into the woods. After sitting in the woods for about fifteen minutes she heard something moving. A small fawn walked in the forest, alone. Poor thing, your Mother isn't around? Well, you won't survive without her. I'll help you out. Elita aimed and fired shooting the fawn in the leg. It whined and Elita sighed. Holding The fabric of her make-shift dress again, she walked over to the fawn. She aimed and shot it in the side of the head. She stroked the animal as it died. It was a quick death but sad non the less. A doe stepped from the shade. Oh my.. Elita frowned and picked the fawn up by the neck. She held up the blanket once more and brought the fawn back to their camp. She smiled when she saw Tynne carrying a large fish in his mouth. "My, my. You can fish? It seems you are more useful and less stupid than I suspected!" Elita sat in the sand and then pulled an arrow head from an arrow. She began cutting the skin from the fawn and throwing the fatty pieces into the sand. After another ten or more minutes, Elita had skinned the fawn and had pulled it into sections. She gutted it and pulled the meatiest parts onto the furless side of the fawns skin. "A fire now." looked for Xar, but it seemed he had fallen behind. "Ah, no big deal. I can do it." She smiled at Lor. "Care to find me some fire wood?" |

Lornayth nodded in agreement and wandered off into the forest. Neve accompanied him, naturally. As the sun set behind the forest canopy, the woods became exceedingly dark. He slowed his pace to account for the descending hand of night. Every now and then, Neve turned to look at him. Her glowing eyes reminded him that he wasn't quite lost, but at the same time, he could hardly tell the difference between broken twigs and suitable firewood in the poor lighting. Neve stopped in front of a small log, pawing at it. "Well done," Lor said with a smile. He reached down and picked the log up. Judging by its size, they would need a couple more.. He followed Neve through the dense forest until they gathered enough and then used her as his guiding light on the way back to the beach. As he neared it, the sounds of the ocean drew him in.. It was infinitely more relaxing than the chirping cicadas hiding in the trees. "Sorry I took so long," he said while placing the firewood in front of Elita. |

"Thank you." Elita said happily. She pulled a two thick sticks from the beach and piled the logs into a triangle shape, with a few laying in the center. She found all the little twigs she could and then thew them in with that. She took the two sticks that she had picked out earlier and began to rub them together in the pile of wood. Smoke emerged from the wood and Elita smiled as sparks flew. She continued until a decent fire started. She backed up and then stuck meat onto a few arrows and held them above the fire. Once she was finished with the first two she handed on to both Fleuria and Lornayth. She smiled and then began to cook one for her self. Once she had eaten she cooked the fish too. Flipping it over and over. She decided that some of the fish and meat would go to the familiars and laid it out in the sand for them all the choose. She then pulled some fish for Lornayth, Fleuria and herself. She ate and cooked the other meat too, to make sure it wouldn't spoil. "This should last two or three days. So, we should be set. The fur, we can also sell." She smiled and then sat close to Lornayth. |
