Lornayth and Neve strolled through the woods silently, aside from the occasional snapping twig on the forest floor. Walking through the ancient forest reminded Lor of their escape from Cathalysis; he glanced suspiciously at just about every boulder they passed as though expecting to find the secret passage they used four days previously.

It feels like it's been much longer than four days..

A soft breeze blew through the forest, scattering loose leaves and blowing his robe back against his body. He could hear the sounds of the beach up ahead - seagulls crying into the air, the waves lapping against the coastline..

"Looks like we're almost there," he announced. Neve ran ahead of the group in excitement.

Elita watched Lor from his side. She studied him and his never changing expression. He seemed so focused and calm. Had it only been four days? Had she really already fallen so badly for a guy she had just met? Maybe it was just that. Because they had just met, it was still odd not to show emotion. Over time Elita was sure it would slowly become less of an issue to talk about.

Her eyes still did not lift from his face. Once she realized she had been staring for a while, she turned to Fleuria, who also seemed so calm.

How can they act like nothing happened? Those monsters are scary. They really give me the creeps. And my home..what will they think then?

While Elita was focusing on other things, a tree soon made her snap out of it. She walked straight into a pine tree, a large one at that. She stopped and rubbed her face. She hopped no one had seen her collide with the tree.

Though he didn't intend to draw attention to Elita's clumsiness, Lor couldn't help noticing her collision. He stopped, turned his head, and frowned sympathetically at the elf.

"What's on your mind?" He extended his hand; once Elita accepted it, he would continue walking alongside her.

Neve reached the beach first and rolled in the sand to celebrate it. She walked swiftly to the line separating dry sand from wet. A small, cool wave washed over her feet, and Neve meowed. Her blue eyes were reflected in the water as she gazed out at what might have been an infinite expanse.

Elita took his hand and began walking again. She gathered her thoughts and then looked at Lornayth. When she looked away she started speaking.

"Just those monsters. And, it has only been four days since this has started, and we already have agreed to fight til the end. It just feels fast. It feels like..like someone should have found us by now, and jailed us. Like this shouldn't have progressed so fast. How Fleuria and I should still be honored and praised when we walk into a room. And home.." She stopped there.

Her eyes fixed on Neve, who was now on the beach. Tynne, flustered decided to run past her. The fox stood in the water and looked at Neve. His tail brushed through the air swiftly and he barked twice. Elita smiled and held Lor's hand tight.

"They are cute. Stupid, but cute." Her heart began to beat fast as she thought about what could happen. What Lornayth could do when he found out about her home, and what had happened there five years ago.

Neve crouched low in the damp sand, wiggling her tail in the air. She fully intended to pounce Tynne in retaliation for passing her up, but a wave rolled in and filled her tiny mouth with salt water. She spat it out with a shrill cry of disgust.

Lor nodded in Elita's direction.

"I feel the same way," he said. "It feels like it's been ages since I met you and Fleuria.. Maybe that's just because I spent so many days in the dungeon beforehand. Either way, you're headed for home now.. I suppose that means I'll meet your parents while we're there, doesn't it?"

Elita laughed. "Yes, it does. I'm sure they will love you." She smiled and looked to the ground. Once they stepped onto pure beach, Elita took off her boots. She stepped into the sand and stuck her arms out. The breeze hit her and she sighed. It was almost as if it were taking some of the weight off of her shoulders.

She stepped into the water and took a deep breath.

Fleuria stepped onto the sands of the beach, walking a little more slowly as to keep her footing in the shaky terrain. As the breeze blew and lifted her hair from her shoulders she felt a new sensation, watching the waters pull in and out from the shore. She felt relaxed and calm. Something about the scene made her feel as if everything would be alright in the end. Her parents would come to pose no threat, and everything will be right n the kingdom.

As Fleuria basked in the feel of the beach, Volair circled over her, something held in his claws. The falcon dropped its cargo before Fleuria, a gift from the familiar to her? Fleuria dropped her eyes down to see a dead field mouse. Volair landed on the sand, looking up at Fleuria with bright eyes.

She blinked, terribly unsure of how to respond to her familiar's strange gift. "Well, Volair..." she began, "That's very nice, but I think Neve and Tynne would appreciate it even more. How about you go give it to them?" Fleuria crouched down, stroking the bird's feathers. Volair cawed happily, hopping over to grasp the mouse in his claws once more. He flapped his wings and flew over to Tynne and Neve. He dropped the mouse before the kitten's paws and landed across from her, looking for a positive reaction.

Fleuria laughed quietly watching the collection of animals. She turned to Elita and Lornayth. "I really don't want to leave here just yet. Does anyone else like the idea of spending a night here at this beach before we disembark for Yesmuth?"

Lornayth took a seat on the beach near the others and folded his arms over his knees.

"I agree.. I've never been able to kick back and enjoy the beach. Rand and I only went a few times, and only for missions.. So we didn't stay long. A night at the beach sounds great." He let himself fall onto his back and stared up at the orange sky. The sun was setting along the edge of the coastline to the west, sending multicolored rays into the clouds overhead.

Neve clasped her paws on the dead mouse, fumbling it toward Tynne. She stared at it in awe.

Elita sat behind Lornayth and lifted his head into her lap. She stroked his long black hair pulling her fingers through until the end. She stared off into the horizon and then decided to pull her front bands out of a braid and shook her head until all her hair was down. The front bangs, after being unbraided fell down to her chest.

Elita shook her head again and then looked at Fleuria. "I'm sorry about earlier. Both of you. I acted harshly. I didn't mean to hit you Fleuria. I just don't want you to get the wrong idea about me and Lornayth. We do have feelings for each other. Don't think this is just something that we will act as if it never happened." Elita smiled and held Lor's right hand. Once she had said what she had wanted to, she began to stroke Lornayth's hair again.

Tynne bit the mouse's head from it's body and a crunch was heard. It then bit the stomach and nudged the rest of it back to Neve. Tynne laid in the sand and stretched out.

Volair flapped his wings watching Never and Tynne. He lifted into the air circling over them, cawing into the air. Fleuria looked over to them, smiling to see Volair in a more relaxed setting.

Fleuria put her attention to Elita. She shook her head at her, kneeling down to the ground. She picked up a pile of sand in her hands and slowly letting the sand pour back to the ground. "It's alright. In one way or another, we all behaved poorly. We can put it behind us, and know something of that nature won't pose a problem again." She turned her head from the sand and smiled at Elita.
