Lor approached his desk without bothering to reply and retrieved a box of matches from inside it. The answer would become clear, he hoped, as soon as he reclaimed his room from the clutches of the darkness. As he struck the match, light filled the small room. His bedsheets had been cast aside, his desk raided, and all in all, his belongings stolen. His eyes narrowed. "What kind of sick joke is this?" he grumbled. "Everything's gone.." He snatched a candle from his desk and gently touched the end of the match to it. Ice climbed up the wooden match and extinguished the flame. He carelessly flicked it out the window. They might've gotten my stuff, but that doesn't mean they've moved it.. It may still be in the building. |

Elita gasped. The room was in terrible condition and once Lor spoke, she understood very well. All his belongings were gone. The guards must have attacked the guild hall while the mages were being killed. Atleast, Elita had to assume they were killed. She walked to the bed and lifted the sheets from the floor she set them up on the bed and picked up shards of broken glass and different objects that were on the floor. She understood what it felt like to be ransaked. "When Kure was taken from my home, they ran in and ripped everything apart. They wanted healthy men. Since my father was missing a leg, they took Kure instead. Our whole house was in shambles. The curtins were torn, my father's tools stolen, along with armor and my mother's jewelry." Elita looked to Lor and gave him a small smile. "Atleast, it seems like you don't mind. Not all that much. It seems to me like you would rather it be your room than something else." Elita was always quick to make assumptions. She looked away. She hoped this would not make Lor angry. He seemed to be mastering his new magical skills quickly. |

"Something else?" Lornayth chuckled. "Like what?" He hardly expected a reasonable answer. The thought left his mind as he walked out the door into the hallway, candle in hand, and began his search. He quickly examined the rest of the rooms on his floor and found much the same scene in each; the room had been thoroughly searched, anything even remotely magical stolen, and a disaster zone left in its wake. Grumbling, he crept down the stairs to the first floor and pressed his body against the thin wall separating him from the lobby. The guards in the room were silent for a few moments.. and then he heard the front doors open. "Ah, Captain Jeremy," a voice said with pleasant intonations. "How fares the search?" Lornayth's head perked up. A search? So they're looking for something after all.. "While we have yet to locate evidence of Presence's spying, it is only a matter of time, sir." A second voice - deeper and quite a bit less cocky than the first. "Be sure to search the Zambar files extensively.." the first voice responded. "They were the guild's backbone, after all. I would not be surprised to learn that they were the cause of all of this." Files.. What kind of information are they looking for? Hm.. Lor adjusted himself, raising a hand to his ear to funnel in their voices. "Well, sir, now that we've moved all of the guild's documents to the storage facility, we need only to read through the material to determine the circumstances surrounding their discoveries. We have most certainly already seized the evidence His Majesty requires." "Splendid," the man replied with a confident laugh. "I expect to hear good news from you soon. You are dismissed." The guard's armor clanked as he saluted in the other room. He filed out of the room without a word, and the doors closed. Lornayth turned to Elita with his eyebrows raised. He motioned for her to follow him back up the stairs and ran his hand silently through his hair. It's obvious where I need to go, then.. Maybe having this girl will be to my benefit after all. |

"Cover your eye, well.." Elita whispered to Lor and walked down the steps standing tall. She walked straight into the light and took a quick bow. "Elita Eleos, on call. Princess Fleuria is safe in Edeuo. The Queen and King have told me to search this facility with a royal Mage. His name is unknown to the common guards, to keep him safe. We are making sure our plans proceed quickly. This Royal mage was once part of Presence, so he does bear the mark. Once he heard of our plan he wished to share in the power." Elita walked forward to the center of the room she could feel her self breaking. The act had to last just a bit longer. She couldn't believe was she was going to say. "The mage and myself are going to an undisclosed location, to search for areas to create tunnles and create more of our precious pets. The Princess will be incharge of the Presence Guild hall experiments. Now, we shall proceed." Elita walked tall and through to the next room. She knew with the power of being the Princess' gaurd, a great honor, she could get through the rooms. Even pass off Lor as a royal mage. She walked into darkness and sighed. She waited for Lor to catch up with his candle, so that they could continue. |

Lor fought his inner frustration with Elita as she introduced them both to the guards in the lobby. It was fine by him so long as they avoided arrest, but he didn't enjoy the idea of the guards learning of his "former" guild affiliation. He gave a stern, silent nod to the man sitting behind the guild desk as they passed him by. "Carry on," the man said with a smile. "What were you thinking..?" he grumbled to Elita once they left the room; they were on their way to the basement thanks to her quick thinking, and for that matter, most likely en route to his stolen belongings. The files, by the sound of the guards' conversation, had already been taken elsewhere. "Whatever.. Thanks." |

Elita was shocked as Lor scolded her. She looked at him, her eyes almost shaking with her body. "I-I got us in right..? And, I coverd your eye too..i-if they-they had seen it.." Elita trailed off after realizing she was in no real troubble, just dealing with an angry mage. He seemed to always be that way though. The candle in Lors hand lit the room they were in. It was a small stair well, leading quite far down into was seemed to be a basement. |

"You're the one who told them I was a former member," Lor sighed. He quickened his pace somewhat, gaining a lead of a few seconds on Elita just to avoid a direct confrontation, and paused only when he reached the basement door at the end of the stairwell. With the candle held close to the doorknob, he gently pushed his way in. Beyond the wooden door, a cramped room full of weaponry, cloaks, books, and various other magic-related items awaited them. Lornayth smirked. Because of his previous failure as a mage, he frequently left his staff at the guild hall when he and Randith - admittedly, most of the glory was Rand's, but they were still traveling companions - departed on missions; his previous trip was no exception. He carefully sorted through the other members' belongings until he located his black, finely carved staff. It was a weapon he had made himself over the course of two years from a block of cursewood. To lose it to the kingdom's faithful dogs would've been quite the shame. The staff's carvings featured several intertwining arrows and, at the tip, a dragon with its wings spread. The tail wound around the staff, turning into a large arrow near the middle. He admired it briefly in the candlelight before turning back to the elf. "Elita," he said in a quiet voice. "Don't expect me to say this again, but.. It means a lot to me that you've helped me get this back. Thanks." Lor held it at his side as he retrieved a small book from a pile nearby: Ice and Magic. Since there didn't seem to be any documents gathered in the room; his suspicions were confirmed. I don't know where this storage facility they mentioned is.. It shouldn't be too hard to find if they're moving things there from all over the magic district, though. He made his way back to the door, glancing briefly back at Elita.. and saying nothing further. |

Elita looked away and did not respond. She got the feeling Lor didn't enjoy her company, and even though he has said thank you, he just wanted to get her off his back. She didn't respond, but instead followed him up the stairs. She had to look tough, so that the other guards did not suspect anything. While walking up the stairs she whispered to Lor. "Bow once we leave. If you don't show respect they will get suspicious." Elita tried to not sound like she was giving orders, but more of sugestion. Once they stepped into the light she walked to the front door. She gave the guards a bow. "We may return soon, or if the Princess decides we have enough information we will return to the castle. Please, ensure the King and Queen know of our plans. Tell them that there is no reason to fear, we shall guard their dughter with our lives." She opend the door and watched Lor from the cornner of her eye. |

As Lornayth headed for the front door of the guild hall, he made no move to conceal the staff or book he'd snatched from the basement. He simply bowed to the guards and then followed after Elita. Behind him, the man sitting at the front desk shot one of the guards a curious glance. The guard nodded. Lor could practically feel their eyes on his back. On his way out the door, he frowned at Elita. The door closed, separating them from the potential enemies within, and he placed a hand on her shoulder. "I have a selfish request.. We should head back to the inn for tonight, but I'd like to locate the storage facility the guard mentioned tomorrow. Would you accompany me?" His hair slid away from his eye, revealing a piercing gaze; he slowly smiled. |

Elita saw the look in his eyes. She Nodded and turned back to the street. "You don't have to hide the mark anymore. Im sure word of you will spread. There are, so I've heard many of Presence guild members who have joind the royal army. I'm sure you can recall some of those people?" Elita didn't think it was good to bring up to Lor, but now had to cover it. "I mean, power just, takes over people sometimes, right?" Elita continued to walk in the silence. She wasn't sure if Lor wanted to talk to her, but that is the kind of person Elita was. Talk till you mess something up, make a cover and fix it, then shut up. "I'm sure the Princess would help too. I mean, if she was with us, we could do anything." |
