Sengoku Basara Anime OST(Red Disc) - Butterfly Dream

Hikaru spent most of her remaining free time sitting at the long coffee table, with a large piece of paper spread on the surface in front of her. She had a black marker pen hanging thoughtfully from her hand, next to her head, supported by the elbow on the table. On the paper, there was a thick rectangular outline, and some thinner ones or squares inside its boundary. Every now and then, Hikaru would mutter something under her breath, unscrew the pen’s cap and scribble some words over it. Sometimes, she would also reach out for the white liquid on the edge of the table to her far right, use it to erase selected black lines, and redraw over it until she was satisfied with the result.

She had a lot to thank for David. When she read her first description of Servants, it left her the impression that they were merely very powerful familiars, within a thin veil of the hero’s personality and mindlessly subservient to their Master. An incarnation of the past hero’s desire. For the past months, Hikaru had tormented herself in how to control a Servant. What if she made the wrong choice, or the wrong order by mistake, or if they interpret it literally? Would there be any misunderstandings? She was certain, she would be so horrible that she would use up all her Command Seals in one day. However, what she read and what was real, turned out to be two completely different things.

Templar(or by his and Hikaru’s own preference, David) was the opposite of what Hikaru imagined a Servant would be. Sure, he does take her, his Master, as the first and foremost priority, but he wasn’t the blind servant she imagined. Because of that, it lifted her burden of being the sole driver. Still, she could not totally rely on him to steer their course of action. That would be unfair. Before meeting David, she thought she had run into a wall, that her sentence to death was as certain as the sun rising in the east. Now, she has a chance to breathe.

While she preoccupied herself with the plan of the underground basement, David had the door slide open, giving Hikaru the full view of the remaining rays of the day. Hikaru left him to his solitude as he deserved. He had done beyond what she expected, perhaps even more than the boundary of duty and loyalty. The way he treated her was unlike any she ever received. The thought of it always left her cheeks flushed and slightly breathless. And every time it came up, another thought would also arise and coldly douse its flames.

He would only be here for fourteen days. At most.

“Hikaru? You’d better come out here… Seems like we’re being summoned.”

Sengoku Basara Anime OST(Blue Disc) - The Beginning of the Sengoku Era

Her pen stopped midair. Hikaru raised her head at David, whose image was a silhouette by the twilight scenery behind him. There was an envelope in his outstretched hand. She uncrossed her legs and climbed from her seat to retrieve it. It was light in her palm, but it felt as if there was an invisible weight tied to it. On the envelope, she could see the outline of a familiar seal. There was a brief moment of hesitation before Hikaru removed it.

“So it’s here.” She remarked casually as she had been expecting it, and pushed her nose on the envelop. “Right from Father Marrone’s study too. Let’s see what it says.”

She unfolded the letter and read the inked letter. While the tone was distinct enough for Hikaru to know that the Father had penned this himself, it was not as friendly as the words made out to be. Between the lines, there’s an authority which anyone who received the very same letter cannot got against. And it would not be as simple as a tea party. Hikaru could see the large figure of Ser Thom hovering over Father Marrone’s shoulder when he wrote this. .. ..anyone who does not manage to attend the announcements will be severely penalized. Penalized. She shuddered at the foreboding sentence and stopped before her imagination went wild. She folded the letter with care, tucked it back into the envelope as it originally came and tossed it on the table. The curtains had been drawn, and they would have to play their roles as dictated.

“Shall we get going while its early?” She asked and scanned her Servant from top to toe. “When you’re more presentable, that is.”

[Towering Cloud in Summer - Umineko no Naku Koro ni OST]

Hikaru spent the majority of her free time adjusting the order of her plushies. The doors of the living room were slide open, with the back of her Servant to her. She stepped back for the eighth time, pondering the exchange the locations of the yellow duck and the new blue penguin, when David's deep voice called out to her. “Hikaru? You’d better come out here… Seems like we’re being summoned.” "Um, okay." She merely said in acknowledge, but her face was grimacing as he hand the letter to her. She braced herself for the inked contents. Even after David being summoned, and spent much of her time with him, the events at school and changing locations, it did not quite hammer the notion of War into Hikaru's stubborn head. However, she knew after reading Father Marrone's writing, it would be the final blow to her denial. She handed the letter back to David when she was done. "Shall we get moving then? I doubt it's a good idea to leave one us behind. Besides, this should be a good opportunity for you to get a look at those we haven't seen."

"What? I'm not 'presentable' now?" David stretched, allowing every muscle in his body to shift, then relax, something he'd only have done in the comfort of home due to the obvious requirements of etiquette. "Still, I suppose it is a bit too chilly to run around as is... Discomfort aside, it is good for one's health. Suppose I'll go get dressed then." He rose from his seat lightly, taking a few seconds to glance upward at the quickly darkening sky, and inhale the afternoon air, finally turning to Hikaru, as his expression changed from a somewhat neutral-friendly to one far more serious. "I probably dont have to tell you, but we will be in the presence of most, if not all, Masters and Servants back there. It is highly likely that some will not obey the rules of neutrality, or obey them only until the doors of the church." David's right hand lifted Hikaru's chin up slightly, as his eyebrows furrowed, as he attempted to impress the gravity of the situation on his Master: "Do you understand? It is likely that as soon as we walk out, we will be attacked, possibly by more than one Servant, depending on if they had formed alliances yet. This is life and death; the church isn’t a neutral ground, it's No Man's Land, a killzone."

To be killed at anytime, at any moment. Hikaru suppressed herself from shivering as a distant memory rose from the back of her mind. She gathered her courage and said, “I know,” she held a steady gaze to the Templar’s emerald eyes, “but it’s not like we can turn back. It’s too late for that now.” Her lips tried to etch an encouraging smile and failed. While David’s presence had been a light, it was still too dim to make it out of the tunnel.

Noticing that his words had a bit of a wrong impact, the boy bit his lip, expression changing once more to one that had been unreadable: an entire veritable storm of emotions passed by it before he finally opened his mouth: "You're right. This letter is essentially an official notice of declaration of war. However, the war had long since begun, ever since I first stepped into this world. Do you feel any different?" He turned from her, folding his arms across his chest, and turned his eyes towards the setting sun on the horizon: "There is no change. No cataclysmic event will occur. The beginning of the end comes at a crawl, not a run. Not with a scream, but with a whisper. Life will go on. Striving for survival and victory... That is all that we are, after all, no matter how much we are reduced to, or how old we grow. Hesitation will result in death. If ever there is a time one must be prepared to kill, it is now. But you know... No matter how much of a baser instinct we possess, we still remain human." He had turned back, a warm smile on his face, his arms back at his sides: "I've given speeches in front of armies all my life - no, my existence." - he corrected himself - "But now, it is different. I, after all, am that army this time, your support, your sword and your shield. So long as I live, no harm will come to you, be it mental, physical, direct or indirect."

He took another step toward the girl, as his figure began to shimmer with silver, smooth armor of an age long past rippling into existence and surrounding him, overlaying the boy and turning a simple high-schooler, David Lagana into the Hero of the Age of Gods, King David of Israel. An array of grayish stones and one pure white one, all inscribed with a single rune, had surrounded him, floating behind him in a circle like a halo, with the white one just above his head. "My foes are your foes, my interests are your interests, your orders are my wishes, your honor is my honor, and your life is my life. So long as I exist, you are safe, and no harm will come to you. This I swear by my Divine Right as King, my Name as given to me by my Father, my Title as High Priest of the Lord, and my Duty as the Servant of Miyamoto Hikaru. I will not fail you." As the rocks disappeared, the ceremonial tone had went away, and there remained simply the boy, David, smiling a bit mockingly at the girl who stood there. "You have nothing to worry about. It's bad for your skin, after all, and I wouldn’t want it damaged."

There was silence after David's speech. Then, Hikaru couldn't hold it any longer. She laughed despite the severity of the situation, despite her Servant's supposedly rousing speech. It had been awhile since she laghed from the bottom of her heart.

The servant only smiled wider, dismissing the armor: "Well, it seems I've at least managed to cheer you up. Here is where I'd normally say something about the importance of morale but... I think just being happy is important too. You have a very melodic laugh; you really should let it free more often." His smile widened when he looked at Hikaru: "Life is to short to not laugh."

"Okay, okay, go and get dressed now." Hikaru pushed him into the house, her voice now several times brighter than the last time she spoke. "I've to some stuff to prepare here. Won’t take very long."

"Fine..." David allowed himself to be herded into the house, somewhat relaxed now that his plan had succeeded. Getting dressed did not take long at all: he could get be done before a single match burned out, as was required in some of his previous summonings. The Burial Cloth had been tightly wound around his torso, the shirt masking its presence, but just to completely hide it, he wore a sweater and a jacket. Putting his shoes on, he walked back out onto the veranda: everything had already seemed to be prepared, and nobody had been anywhere near them.

Hikaru changed her blouses and jeans for clothing that would allow more mobility. Her last addition to her attire was a long black jacket, without any discernible markings to it, that she used from time to time in place of her other coat, that would have marked her as Church affiliated. The black key handles had been prepared several days ago. All Hikaru needed to do was to put it over herself. Finally, after checking that she was wearing Saint's Ashes as a pendant, and Sacred Heart in one of her jacket's pockets, she returned to the veranda where David, who only needed to wear his clothes, was waiting.

"What are we doing about the Artifact? It will not activate if conditions are not met, and risking its unveiling... Well, would be problematic if we wish to keep the element of surprise." David opened his eyes, taking a good look at the girl who walked out of the house; Hikaru had been completely transformed with a simple change of clothes. A smirk began to form on his lips as he opened his mouth to compliment her, but then closed just as quickly: this was not what he'd been here for. The last thing she needed was thinking about just what his comment may have meant, and get distracted in a crucial moment of battle. Had it been any other time... He shook his head, as if removing the thoughts, and once more inquiring: "I assume you are prepared?"

“Yes, good to go." Hikaru said as she tugged her jacket. It looked smooth and close fitted to her figure, and did not betray its contents. She frowned when David raised the issue. "I'll...think of something." While she said as if she was neglecting it, her mind was running through several solutions. They could pick up several people while going through Shinto, but Hikaru was uneasy in involving ordinary people in this. She took lead and walked out the gate. There was no sign of a single soul at this moment, the smell of cooked food indicated it was dinner time for the majority.

[Sincerement - Shakugan no Shana II OST 2]

David followed Hikaru out onto the street, without paying the surroundings much attention: Even while inside the house, he'd continuously scanned the area they had been in, and found threats to be a bit too far to be of any serious issue. Looking around suspiciously would only draw attention; after all, who knew just how good the enemy's vision was. A lazy glance around wouldn’t hurt, however, which he'd done while yawning, attempting to quickly locate high points of the terrain, but not locating anything of significance. Shinto seemed to be the only real location with such things, and that was across the river. Offering Hikaru his elbow, he stood, patiently waiting.

Hikaru grinned at Templar as she wrapped her offered wrist, closing the space between them. She was drawn to him like metal to magnet. Was the Servant's natural charm, or something else? Better move on to more important issues. As she was wearing her long coat. Rather than the image of an assassin, her clinginess gave the impression that she was trying to be grown-up, or a cosplay. "Anyone in the area, David?" she asked the tall boy.

"Well, I got four threat signals in the area." David turned to Hikaru with a light smirk on his face as if to reply to her grin. "Two with unknown identities, and then we have Rider and Makiri Haruka. Both are a considerable distance away from us, and each other, however, and I would not expect then to be able to so much as see us. This meeting should be highly beneficial to us; we'll be able to understand who we're dealing with without revealing too many cards. Perhaps, playing those cards right, we may even be able to strike an alliance." David, who had preferred warmer climates, had felt an instinctual feeling of comfort when Hikaru had clasped his elbow; an instinctual response, perhaps, but that didn’t make it any less pleasant. It was reassurance, of sorts, that he had not been headed off into a battle without someone he could trust to watch his back - a sentiment that slightly surprised him as it sounded in his mind. Being slow to trust was a valid survival tactic, but it was also detrimental to a lot of things, and removed from the enjoyment of life. Shutting his eyes for a second, he had reminded himself that enjoyment of life had not been why he had been summoned into this era. Had it been that, then... Things would have been different. There was no point wasting time on lamentations, after all; ahead loomed the first real encounter, and he would have to keep his focus to ensure that the girl by his side would keep her smile. That was all he could do, for now.

"Makiri and Rider, and two others." Hikaru repeated slowly. "Would be nice things go accordingly as we want them to, but it's not going to as easy as 'Hi, want to ally with me?'. After all, magi are the suspicious type."

"That... doesn’t actually sound like a bad idea. I mean, weren’t we going for wide-eyed naive girl with pushy arrogant boyfriend appearance? Though, it is up to you, such a role might be a tad unpleasant. Acted as worse things, myself, but we're not running a comparison here." David clicked his tongue in slight annoyance: "I’m not too certain WHAT way will actually get their attention. Dealing with people who have severe cases of paranoia isn’t easy... But a front assault like that just could work."

CrimsonSilk89 (9:31:09 PM):"I hear they say the best solution to a conflict is to just ask." Hikaru sniggered at the prospect. "It just be the thing to put them off guard. After all, I doubt anyone would go for that approach. The next question would be who, which we'll find out once we get there and have a better look."

“Off-hand? I'd recommend the Makiri girl. They seem to be like the kind of pair that are easy enough to reason with - granted, her Servant is about as subtle as a bull in a china shop, but that might play to our advantage. My assessment of him..." The boy paused for a moment, considering what he'd seen: "...He's not someone I'd like to face this early on. Better to get him on our side. He also seems friendly enough, that's important. His Master... Getting mixed signals but I think she's decent. The fact that you're both in the same class play to our advantage, as well."

“Yeah, better join them than fight them. Makiri is an old magi family, so who knows what Haruka has up her sleeves."

“Apart from that, we'll just have to wait and see. There really isn’t much point plotting based on assumptions, and what we have, we already discussed, its solid." David nodded in approval, considering the scene at the school: "That scene at the school, too... Its advantageous for us since there is at least one Master she'd never team up with, and we were there in plain sight, so it couldn’t have been us. Now then... I suppose that about sums up our problems for the moment."

"And I didn't poison her drink." Hikaru added. "Not that I would do it, it's as blatant as daylight. Then again, that was what whoever was underground did. I wonder if the ambusher would show? They practically made themselves a mole for this event." She cringed of all the sudden. "That reminds me, I hope we won’t run into that Vice-President, she gives me the creeps."

"Basing it on her behavior in school... We just might be seeing her." David's face twisted into a lop-sided grimace he knew looked awful and was highly unrefined but reflected his opinion of the big-busted Master well enough. "Still, prepare yourself nonetheless. I'll do what I can to keep her away; it fits my mask's personality fairly well, after all. As for the poison, yes, it was blatant, but it might have been a simple beverage.. Its hard to say, but my bet's on some slow acting poison. That reminds me - careful of what you eat and drink at the party. I wouldn’t dare think that Father Marrone would do such a thing but the other guests could perform the service for him. Additionally.. Something non-harmful might be there, if only to monitor, perhaps? Too early to guess." With those words, the Servant shrugged slightly, and with the simple words 'Shall we?', began to walk, after an agreeing nod from his companion. It was a long trek to the Church.

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Matsuri - Ansoku no Jikan

After a few mere feet out of the house, a chorus of voices disturbed the silent neghbourhood. As Hikaru and David traveled out of the web of walls, it became clearer that they were heading in their direction, and they were squabbling.

“Shizuka-san, are reading you the map upside down again?” an irritated male voice asked, with a heavy emphasis on the ‘again’. Hikaru immediately identified as Kyouya, her former roommate, who was also the person she got David’s uniform from.

“Of course I wasn’t!” Shizuka’s voice incredulously rose from the suburb roofs. “We are going the right way! I’m not making any mistakes this time. If Your-Correctness wants to verify it, here you go.”

“Um….we better hurry….” A third voice joined in. “The dinner’s getting cold, and…. Frankly, I’m hungry. My stomach’s been growling since the first time we got lost.”

“Just wait for a bit, Mikan,” replied Shizuka with a tinge of impatience, “we’ll be there in no time. God, why did Hikaru move to such a mazey place?”

After turning into the corner, Hikaru could see three people walking under the street lamps, their voices practically ringing in her ears. She took a deep breath, allowing her inner volume control to turn down before she picked up her pace to join them, waving as she went. “Hey! You guys were making a racket, I could hear you a mile away.”

There a collectively sigh of relief, when the trio saw the person were to visit, appear right before them. If they noticed Hikaru wasn’t in her normal clothes, they didn’t say a word. Shizuka spoke first, with her hand scratching the back of her head in embarassment. “We got lost along the way. I had Mrs. Akiyama’s map upside down at first.” Then she switched to an accusing glance. “Then again, why did you move into a maze hive?”

Hikaru put up an innocent face and jabbed her thumb behind at the blond boy moving towards them. "Ask that guy. He picked the place. I just went along."

"Hmph. Please, that apartment was hardly defensible." David shrugged, clearly unimpressed: "As far as mazes go, well... Some just have more of a sense of direction then others, I guess." He turned to the other girl, shaking his head in a mocking manner that did not come across as insulting: "But next time you come by for a visit, i suggest you guide them instead of her." The Servant pointedly ignored Kyouya.

“Oh, I haven’t introduced you guys yet. This is David Lagana, just call him David. The tall girl with red hair is Asano Shizuka, the carrot head is Haruma Mikan and the dumb-looking spectacle guy is Sasaki Kyouya.” Hikaru pointed out the trio.

“Carrot-head?”
“Dumb-looking?”

A union of protests erupted from Mikan and Kyouya respectively. “Is that how you introduce your friends to your boyfriend?” Mikan asked with a betrayed look.

“B-b-boyfriend?” Hikaru blanched.

“Puh-leeze, there’s no need to hide it. It’s all over the school. I heard it from Hariyano-san. You were all tomato face, weren’t you?” She continued as if it were facts.

Hikaru silently cursed at her big mouthed neighbour. That gossip machine. Her reaction this morning was simply nervousness, that was all. She put the blame on the presence of the other Servants.

“At least he has the decency to wear clothing now.” Kyouya remarked plainly. He adjusted his glasses while examining David with approval.

“HE WASN’T WEARING CLOTHES?” Mikan gasped, her eyes fluttered with excitement. She stared at David speculatively at the rippled clothes underneath. Hikaru felt something bad dropping in her stomach. Since when had the young cheerful girl grow up to be a pervert?
"Yes. Someone came in and took my spare uniforms this morning.” Kyouya gave Hikaru an unamused look, although he didn’t add ‘even the underwear’ as it was something too private for him to say.

David's smile grew larger at the overreactions of everyone to everything - clearly he would not need to liven up the atmosphere at all, but perhaps... "Ahh, so that's where that sauce-stained garment came from." He jabbed his thumb over his shoulder. "I was going to return it, since I'd really rather not borrow my wardrobe, and they were really ... not my style." He grimaced visibly, before making a denying gesture, cutting the air with his hand: "Besides, after that downpour we got caught under, I had to buy new clothes anyways. As far as decency goes, I think it would be -far- more decent to walk around without those... rags I was given, but alas, that seemed to give Princess here a fever, and I'm supposed to look after her."

“Aw, who knew that our resident genius kid would be the first among us to get her prince charming!” said Shizuka with a mischievous glint in her eyes. She sighed. “Some people just get everything.”

“If she still denies that he is her boyfriend, I’m taking him home with me!” Mikan chimed in.

“Can you not call me ‘Princess’ in front of them?” Hikaru whispered to David, and at Mikan. “What! No way!”

“Then he is your boyfriend!”
“Not!”

“So is! It’s all over your face!”
“I’m not blushing! And you can’t see in this light!”

“You’re making excuses!”
“Am not!”

“I don’t see what’s the charm with him.” Kyouya muttered audibly.

“You’re just jealous that you’re not as good looking as him, Kyouya.” Shizuka retorted.

The banter went on for a couple more minutes. Hikaru had been taking note how long time had passed, and she didn’t want to be late for the meeting. Personally, Hikaru doesn’t like being late. The idea of entering a room with people staring at you like lemurs in silence was an experience she want to avoid. Tonight, it becomes more imprerative, as it means she would face Ser Thom’s wrath. She didn’t know if he would do anything if the other Masters pulled off the same thing, but she was certain he wouldn’t be merciful on her, especially because she’s the member of the Sacred Church. And she would prefer to have her arms and limbs intact before engaging in battle.

With her palms together, she finally raised her voice to change the topic of conversation. “Aaaaanyway, what brings you guys here tonight?”

Her three friends stopped their arguments, and turned their attention to her.

“Oh, we wanted to pay you a visit. We brought dinner too!” Shizuka pointed at the big container Mikan had been carrying. “Except now it’s cold, since we have a detour.”
“A big detour.”
“Shut up, Kyouya.” Shizuka snapped.

“I wouldn’t be here if Mrs. Akiyama didn't insist that you guys need bodyguarding.” Kyoya shifted under his long jacket. He gave Hikaru a glance that told her he too, had come with his gear. Hikaru returned a slight nod in acknowledgment.

“Nevermind him.” The elder girl waved him off. “Why are you walking around this time.”

Hikaru move her feet uncomfortably. “On my way to see Father Marrone. There’s a meeting at the Church….not the normal Church meetings.”

“I was hoping we could see your new house. I heard it’s big.” Mikan looked down at the cold dinner, disappointed. “But it’s okay, this means I get to use the new kitchen!”

“Um, wait, so you guys are coming?” Hikaru blinked.

“Yeah, why not?” Shizuka agreed. “Is it only for those type of people?”

“Um…” she turned to David for an answer.

David's grin only grew larger, as he tented his fingers, tapping them against each other in a gleeful manner when Hikaru turned to him. "Well, why not? Your friends are involved with the Sacred Church anyway, this means they arent bound by the 'no witness' law of magi. And as far as I remember, that invitation letter didnt have any restrictions on who could attend, just whose attendance was mandatory. And the Father did promise a party... I'm afraid with the guest list restricted to only mandatory attendees, it will get rather dry very quickly." He paused, speaking seriously for a moment: "It also helps due to... other things."

“So we are going!” Mikan declared, not caring if the residents around the area heard her. She loped her arm around Hikaru’s neck, somehow not spilling the contents of the dinner basket, and dragged the brunette girl to their usual route leading to Fuyuki Bridge, and then over to the church on the hill.

“Hey, hey! Ow, Mikan! My neck!” Hikaru gasped.

“Careful with the basket!” Shizuka called from behind.

Hikaru turned around with a helpless look at David, in hopes that since he was new, maybe he wouldn't be so apthetic of Mikan's treatment on her like Shizuka and Kyouya.

All she received, however was a 'what?' glance and a raised eyebrow, as the boy clearly didnt seem to judge Mikan's grip to be a life-threatening case. Making a slight 'hmph' sound, he'd followed after the pair. "Touching to see such comradery between friends, but you stick to Princess like that and you might end up catching the same bug she did. Still denies it, and every one of my attempts to cure her. Mind-boggling, really." He quickened his pace, ending up walking on Hikaru's other side.

“ ‘Attempts to cure you’. Did he mean something close and mushy, like a kiiiissssssssssss!” She punctuated by tightening her arm around Hikaru’s neck.

“Mi- kan-, you’re- kill-“

“I’M SO JEALOOOUUUUUS! WHY DID SOMEONE LIKE YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND BEFORE MEEEEEE??!!! WHY?!” Mikan seemed to have lost into her own world, flapping Hikaru like a rag doll, and still unusually -- not spilling the dinner basket.

“The Church again?” Kyouya moaned. “I just came back from there.”

“Well, you can go back now.” Shizuka turned around and said in a both polite and annoyed manner. “Since we have David here, we don’t need another guy around.”

"All right, now that looks life-threatening enough for me to intervene." David shook Mikan's arm off of Hikaru's neck. "If she dies, you cant make fun of her anymore, kind of detrimental. Maybe you should give the basket to that one back there -" He motioned with his head towards Kyouya. "Doesnt look like he's got anything to do anyway." He turned to Hikaru, slightly smiling at the scene that unfolded moments earlier: "We would do well to hurry. We were requested to be there at 7:00 pm sharp and while the Father might overlook lateness, I dont think that other... unpleasant man will."

"The other unpleasant man? I hope you're not referring to Ser Thom.” Kyouya said strenly then. “ Of!" he felt a weight in his hands as Mikan happily dumped the basket on him.

"That guy that came with Father Marrone? I don't like him either, he's quite scary. He ran through our personnel details today without going through Father, and then harassed the cleaners to see if they're spies. I don't like the way he does things." said Shizuka.

"These measures are needed to taken for a time like this." Kyouya gave Hikaru a side glance. "It's good to see someone being serious for once."

"I am not disputing his measures, I am simply saying he is unpleasant to associate with due to extreme paranoia, and a lack of manners. That being said, I knew plenty like him who were excellent people, but that doesn't make me like him any more. he is unrefined and insulting - but this is the front line. Mistaking your ally for your enemy however, could be fatal." David's expression darkened for a moment, a cloud passing by, then his usual smile back on his face: "However, I doubt he will stay long as such people do not appreciate good company."

"If Gorrilla-man is around for long, I'm going to stop attending Sunday mass!" Mikan exclaimed, which is more taking Gorrilla-man as her excuse than actually out of spite.

"Mikan, watch your mouth. Don't call him that when he get there." Kyouya reprimanded her.

"Besides, you hardly ever attend Sunday mass." Hikaru pointed out, with her neck back in place. She turned and twisted it to make sure it was functioning in the right angles.

"Well. I think, at least for today, there will be someone else, far more deserving of the undoubtedly prestigious title of 'Gorilla Man'." Chuckled David, recalling the scene at the school as he watched the friendly bickering of friends. "All joints still aligned right, Hikaru?"

“Yeah, somehow.” She grumbled, not amused by the younger girl’s rough antics. It was impossible for the girl to actually injure Hikaru, but the Executor didn’t particularly feel like being a toy. “Mikan, how was the Elvis concert?” A sinister smile spread across her face.

Mikan had not noticed the change, instead her face flushed as red as Shizuka’s hair, and she squeezed her eyes tightly to the point they wondered if she could open them again. “ELVIS IS THE KIIIIIIIIING!”

Hikaru slapped her palm on her face, leaving an embarrassed eye on David as her friend repeated the slogan she heard for countless of times. “So what did he do, kiss you?”

“NO, BETTER!” The girl turned around pulled out something white from her tiny backpack, barely half the size of a soccer ball. “HE GAVE ME HIS SHIRT! THAT HE WORE!” Mikan buried her face into the fabric. “Ooooh, Elvis-sama!”

“You’re lying. You must have snuck in the backstage and stole it.” Kyouya snarked, as the event seemed impossible to believe. Hikaru couldn’t see the point of this and stated the obvious.

“It’s just a shirt.” The air stilled with a screeching silence. A cold chill ran down her spine. Maybe that was the wrong thing to say? Hikaru grinned stiffly as a cold sweat ran down the side of her cheek.

“NO IT’S NOT! AND IT HAPPENED!” And at the signal of her voice, a rain of pencils, pens, craft knives, T-squares, any stationary that has a sharp end, and even staples rained down upon the two Executors. Hikaru couldn’t fathom how she could fit anything into that small bag.

“Ow, ow, ow! Where did that come from?” “Fine, Elvis gave it to you! Now! Stop!” “Okay it’s a special shirt!”

“ELVIS SAID I’M HIS BEST FAN!” Came a scream from behind, followed by a bigger torrent of falling stationary.

“Hikaru, why did you have to bring up Elvis of all things?” Kyouya snapped at her as the two raced forward to escape the little girl’s non-stop attacks.

“Why did you say she stole it?” Was all she could counter. By now, they were speeding along Fuyuki Bridge’s walk path in record breaking seconds.

“It sounds impossible! Ow!” An eraser bumped on his forehead. “And you had to go an say ‘It’s a shirt!’”

“But it is! Ack!” Another eraser fell on Hikaru’s head. “Thought I could get back at her. Didn’t work.”

“You idiot!”

“Same to you! Eeep!” Hikaru shrieked as her foot narrowly missed a scissor. "Are we going to run like this the whole waaaay?"

"How about do us a favour and tell her to stop?" Kyouya growled. He sounded like an exhausted donkey, and his glasses had been clouded by his perspiration.

However, instead of stopping to negotiate with Mikan, Hikaru sped forward to the hill where the Church was situated on top, leaving Kyouya behind to deal with the enraged girl's mercy.

"DAAAAAAAAAAMN YOOOOU, HIKARUUUUUUU!!"

"'King'... ahh, that swirly-hair one with the fashion style of a drunken ferryman." The Servant paused for a moment, considering, and folding his hands as he always did when he had something to think about: "Didn't know he sang... What's it sound like?" He ignored the yelps issuing from Kyouya and his Master, and simply continued walking calmly, letting them run ahead.
