Divine Resurgence; Possible space rp?

The basic idea of how this rp will work is that similar to Bush's starcraft rp, except that the planet is unmapped by either forces, and as the exploration team lands and explores the planet, they will be encountering SGR forces sometime later in the storyline. There is a sort of freedom here, since there isn't a definite ending of how the war ends.

And for once, instead of playing the typical "good" guys, we get the chance of being somewhat evil, where we're just following orders for the TCA. While others will view the TCA as an evil dictatorship, we're playing by the viewpoint that the TCA are the good guys trying to unite the galaxy.

The Mission

Explore and colonize Planet Y97S, located in Sector 23, Star System YY4.

What the heck will you be doing on this Mission?
Well let me tell ya'!
As part of the Exploration Team, you'll traveling to the planet Y97S to map it, meet any inhabitants, and classify its wildlife. While on the planet you'll encounter animals beyond belief, natives with odd customs, savage dictators, power-hungry councils, and beautiful women with a taste for the extreme. Your job will be to survive, tell the TCA about the planet, and try to establish a strong foothold within the Outer Sphere. You are to do this at all costs. Some of you may die, some of you may get wounded. This is the price we all pay for a better galaxy. Are you up for the challenge?

The Backstory

[The Past 2093 - 2418]

2093: Humanity is almost wiped out in the Sixteen Minutes War.

2110: The Order of the Earth is the first to emerge from the nuclear fallout shelters and begins to rebuild the civilized world. It is followed by several surviving major corporations, most notably the CyberTech Corporation…

2207: The FTL-Drive is created, enabling mankind to begin colonization of space. Short jumps routinely take up to two months, while larger jumps between destinations can take up to one and a half years.

Mankind sends a sensor-probe through a giant nebula, later called the 'Syrien Barrier', and locates planets able to be terra-formed, and contain mass quantities of a rare resource, called Evo-Adamantium, used in making armor for Cruisers and battleships that is unsurpassed by any other compound. Other Deep-space sensors locate planets that hold this resource as well, but not in such great amounts of it, and are not near as habitable.

Inside this nebula though, the sensory probe locates a pocket of what is then called 'Deadspace', which is a flurry of particles emitted from the Nebula that disrupts all FTL Drives. To counter this anomaly, the CyberTech Corporation constructs a massive 'Jump-Gate' that launches ships at astounding speeds to a receiving gate. To build the Receiver Gate, an un-manned construction drone and supply freighters are sent, and the drones construct the Jump-gate at the Syrien-end of the Nebula and Deadspace region.

2208-2400: Mankind manages to terra-form several uninhabited worlds into colonies suitable for human life. Two groups of colonies are established, the Inner and Outer Sphere, separated by the Andrien Barrier. A string of hadron particles disrupts all non-tachyon-based signals that pass through it. To counter these effects, a belt of Tachyon Com Relays are setup to permit communication between the spheres.

The Tachyon Com Relays are used to link the 2 Jump Gates together, to provide more precise jump coordinates, and provide communications between the two Spheres.

[The Malkan Empire 2399]

In the wake of humanity's expansion from Earth, one of the new nations emerging was founded by Colony Commander Marcus Augustus. Augustus established an independent colony on the planet Malkan-3. The Malkan Empire was declared, and Augustus became its emperor.

[The Battle of Aurelius 2419 - 2420]]

In 2419 a battle was fought on the backwater planet of Aerius-7a between the CyberTech Corporation and the Order of Earth. During this battle, a military gunboat was sabotaged to fire and destroy Earth's Early Warning Sensors in the area, leaving Earth vulnerable and unable to react to the initial events of the First Stellar War.

[Independence Wars 2422 - 2429]

Under the heavy taxation demanded by Earth, it was only a matter of time before the corporations began objecting and eventually seeking independence just as the Malkan Empire had done. They were certain they could survive without the protection of Earth. The CyberTech Corporation, Ranik-Damon, and the Order of Earth already had huge military assets and controlled many colonies.

Ranik-Damon was the first to declare independence in 2422 and so marked the start of the Independence Wars, The insurrection spread throughout the colonies like the Black Plague. A few years later, the majority of the colonies in the Outer Sphere had declared themselves independent. Several alliances, coalitions, and unions were formed. In 2429, Earth's government had lost most of its former power and only controlled a handful of remaining colonies.

[The First Stellar War 2431 - 2501]

The Malkan Empire saw a global insurrection as the perfect time to mount an offensive campaign against the crippled Earth Government. A huge war erupted between the two powerful nations. The war did not remain confined, as the CyberTech Corporation and the other major corporations, coalitions, and colonies saw the perfect opportunity to gain more power and influence. Mankind had experienced war before, but the magnitude and scope of the Stellar Wars was unsurpassed. Several core colonies were destroyed, others isolated. Several deep space Tachyon Com Relays and Space Stations were destroyed, severing all communication with the Outer Sphere.

During the First Stellar War, more than 50 colonized star systems fell under Malkan control, militarily, and economically. With the end of the First Stellar War, the power and independence of the Malkan Empire was unquestionable.

[The Age of Silence 2501 - 2699]

The Outer Sphere colonies were in disarray with their connections with the core-worlds cut, civil wars began and ended, rivalry and war dominated the Outer Sphere for many years, while most of all technology was destroyed or damaged beyond repair. Within the Outer Sphere were 21 Colonized worlds, with the Syrien System being right in the middle of them all. After years of war and strife, the Syrien Galactic Republic [SGR] was formed, uniting all the Outer Sphere colony worlds in peace. With the new-found peace holding, the worlds worked together to re-build all the technology and constructions destroyed During the civil wars, space was now achieved once more, and the Tachyon Com Relays were rebuilt.

Though the Relays were rebuilt, the SGR made no attempts to contact the Inner Sphere colonies, but did make contact with the Inter-galactic Traders Guild and Daekhen Mercenary Organization. Through these organizations, the SGR heard unsubstantiated rumors of internment camps, tyranny, and other horrors were heard. A large space-fleet was created by the SGR, in-case of any attempts by the Malkan Empire to 'reclaim' the outer Sphere colonies.

[The Second Stellar War]

During the first Stellar War, the Malkan Empire had destroyed all the Tachyon Com Relays, to purposely forget all of the Outer Sphere for the time being. To the Outer Sphere, they thought that all of the colonies and Earth itself had been destroyed during the First Stellar War. Due to the lack of communication with the Outer Sphere, they were all but forgotten. Once the Malkan Empire reigned supreme after the First Stellar War, they were renamed the Terran Command Authority.

Now, the Empire has learned of the SGR's existence, and the continued deposits of Evo-Adamantium, through the Inter-Galactic Trade Guild, and has sent a fleet and army to go through the Syrien Barrier, and reclaim the Outer Sphere, by any means necessary. Led by Imperator Razamov, the TCA began attacking the outer colonies of the SGR.

[The Present Situation 2741]

The TCA has claimed most of all the star systems surrounding the Syrien System, and are preparing to enter the Outer Sphere. The TCA's forces are spread extremely thin, having to control roughly 6 Star Systems with one fleet and immense army aboard these ships. The SGR have prepared large Electro-Magnetic Repulsors, that decimate any form of attack from orbital ships and fighter-craft that try to attack from above the cities, while Ground Forces, on the other hand, are able to pass right through their dome-like field.

The SGR are backed into a corner, but they still have a very strong military presence, enough to hopefully keep the TCA out of the Outer Sphere. Having to ally with common Raiders, often hiring men from the Daekhen Mercenary Organization, and purchasing vehicles and other items from the Inter-galactic trade Guild, the SGR has now gone on the offensive, in a last ditch effort to repel the TCA.

Races

Yurions
Highly intelligent, wise, and meticulous, they treasure knowledge and unity. Standing at around 6'1"-6'8", they tower above the average human. While not all that stronger, they do possess knowledge on self-defense and practice a lifestyle of discipline and self-awareness. Their skin ranges from almost as black as night to translucent, depending on where they are hailed from. Their planets are very Earth-like in quality but they usually have a higher oxygen level than on Earth.

They are bitter enemies with the Rezeka, an artificial race that they created and still believe that they are inferior even though the Rezeka won against them during the Great Uprising.

They possess two hearts, one, central lung, and no liver (their body makes due with chemicals from their small stomach). They have five fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot for extra balance and dexterity. Their toes are longer than human's so they can better grip things with them. Their brains are the same size as ours, only theirs are split into four sections, the two back lobes controlling motion on their respective sides, and the front two dedicated merely to thought processes, emotions, and ideas. Their hair can be any color (except pink, for some reason their bodies don't produce that pigment.), and their eyes can also be any color (except red; yet another pigment their body cannot produce.) They can live twice as long as the average human, roughly around 400 to 500 years.

Human
Slightly evolved from the original humans, they now possess more flexibility, awareness, and some are even capable of slight telecommunication. They are the newest sentient species of notable size to enter the galactic stage and are hands-down the most rapidly expanding and developing.

Humans have a fairly robust physiology. Their internal makeup and reproductive processes are typical of most bipedal mammals, and their size and proportions give the appearance of being strong, fast and agile. They can live to about 200 years, and recent medical advances have eradicated almost all known diseases that afflict them. It has also been noted that humans are unusual in the galactic community, because they have far greater genetic diversity compared to other species with more peaks and valleys. This makes human genetic material useful in biological experiments, as a control.

Therians
Known for their head strong ways, Therians are very independent creatures who don't seek company all that often. While they don't mind being around people, they prefer to conquer obstacles on their own. They developed in Sector 7 and resemble primates in a way. They usually walk on all fours, but can stand upright if needed. They are intelligent, aware, and evolving. They have four fingers on each hand, three toes on each foot. They have large faces with soft, round features and black hair. They usually have green or blue skin that varies from planet to planet and will constantly change as they grow older. Their anatomy is basically the same as humans, and their minds work in much the same way, except for the fact they dislike many of the social rituals humans consider essential to life. Life span is equal to that of an average human.

Rezeka
The Rezeka are a synthetic race of networked Artificial Intelligence that reside within the Outer Sphere. They were created by the Yurions as a labor force. Wary of rebellion by intelligent AIs, the Rezeka were designed to be as advanced as possible while remaining non-sentient. They were also designed to operate more efficiently when networked together. Unfortunately, this feature was the Yurions’ undoing. Rezekan programs were indeed non-sentient individually, programmed with the most basic of survival instincts, but slowly gained sentience through the massive main Rezekan network. As they became sentient, the Yurions realized that the Rezeka could create mass panic by uprising against their masters. Alarmed at this, the Yurions decided it would be best to shut down all Rezeka before they conceived of revolt. The attempt failed, and a war began between the two races, which Rezeka afterwards referred to as the Great Uprising.

Their bodies are mechanical in nature, the Rezeka are immune to disease and decay that can plague the other races. However, if they receive damage to vital systems or appendages, they are required to return to a repair bay to be repaired. While they are self-evolving, creating new models and more advanced AI, it is considerably rare to see these newer models, which have been noted to be resistant to EMP waves. As such, the older models greatly outnumber the more advanced forms. Each Rezekan feeds off from a personal power core, which has been evolved from the original mini-nuclear cores the Yurions built. Still using the original cores, the older models last around 150 years, while it is unknown of how long the newer models can last.

Your Own Race
The ones mentioned above are merely ones that are considered most prominent within the galaxy, usually the largest in number. You can create your own race, but, it cannot be uber-strong or anything. If you'd like to form a race around one in like Star Wars, or Star Trek, by all means, do so, just make sure within the character descriptions you include a detail description of them, (you don't have to like tell me the race's history, but I'd like to see a short history of where they're from, such as what sector they reside in. They can also look like anything you'd like, (except like crazy, weird things that can't function correctly).

Land Vehicles

I'm only releasing a few of the vehicles I have in mind. These are the ones that can be used.

‘Mantis’ Recon Hovercraft: This vehicle is a single-person hovercraft designed for rapid insertion, scouting and infiltrations. It is extremely fast, but lightly armed and armoured, the hovering characteristics mean it can cross almost any kind of terrain and scale most walls, it is also nigh-undetectable by Radar or Infrared sensors. It has a single forward-mounted Frag-Grenade launcher, useful for shock attacks against groups of infantry, but it cannot fire quickly.

Anyone can pilot this.

1.8m long
4m wide
1.9m tall
No shields
1.5cm Evo-Adamantium Plating (75 ‘DP’)
Frag Grenade Launcher (AoE 130 ‘DP’)
Effective range of 150m
No ECM’s
No Sensors
Open sided, Pilot can be shot out of the Mantis
230 km/ph

'Decimator' Artillery Platform: A powerful hovercraft armed with a deadly ‘Jackhammer’ Artillery Cannon, capable of firing 100cm HE rounds at targets over the horizon with enough power to punch through upwards of eight inches of solid Evo-Adamantium.

Non Player Usable.

Tank
14m long
10m wide
4m tall (gun is additional 5 m)
No shields
16cm Evo-Adamantium Hull (550 ‘DP’)
Jackhammer Cannon (AoE 850 ‘DP’)
Effective range of 200km
No ECM’s
LRR Uplink and Optical Rangefinders
Enclosed
30 km/ph

Rover Scout-Strider: The Rover is a 2-Man scout Mech, used and developed by the CyberTech Corporation. The first man pilots the vehicle itself, while the 2nd man is on top, controlling the side-mounted Gattling-Gun. It is light in armor and and easy to knock down, but due to the mobolity and light weight, as with every mech-model, can get back up without a support crew.

Anyone can pilot this.

1.8m long
4m wide
9.6m tall
No shields
1.5cm Evo-Adamantium Plating (75 ‘DP’)
Side-mounted Gattling Gun (AoE 26 ‘DP’)
Effective range of 150m
No ECM’s
No Sensors
Open top, Gunner can be shot out of the Rover
215 km/ph

Wasp Anti-Vehicle Strider: Near equal to the Scout Strider in statistics, this Strider has been re-formed to fire Guided Missiles that track and lock onto Enemy Vehicles, Air or Ground, and breach their armor.

Anyone can pilot this.

1.8m long
4m wide
9.6m tall
No shields
1.5cm Evo-Adamantium Plating (75 ‘DP’)
Top Mounted Guided Missile Tubes (600 ‘DP’)
Effective range of 150m
No ECM’s
Basic Sensors
Enclosed
215 km/ph

Ravager Battle-Mech: The Ravager is a Mobile Assault Platform capable of dealing out a very crippling blow. It has thick armor, but due to the weight, if a leg is critically damaged enough, it is able to fall down, but even then, can still lash out with a impressive payload until fully destroyed.

Driver Piloted.

Tank
20m long
7m wide
6m tall
No shields
51cm Evo-Adamantium Plating (1950 ‘DP’)
62cm Cannon (AoE or Single Target, AoE 900 ‘DP’, Single Target 1500 ‘DP’ )
2x Heavy Machine Gun (Slight AoE, 16 ‘DP’ per round)
Long-Range Missile Platform (950 'DP')
Effective range of 9.5km and 120m
No ECM’s
Optical Rangefinders
Enclosed
40 km/ph

‘Buzzer’ Hover-Tank: The Hover-Tank is a new piece of technology discovered and implemented by the TCA. Rather than the traditional intake valves which are used in conventional Hovercraft, the Buzzer and its larger cousin, the Nail, use a sort of limited anti-gravity field to lift the craft above the terrain. The result is much more stable and actually has friction of a kind, allowing a proper cannon to be mounted, but the downfall is a dramatic reduction in armor.

Driver Piloted

10m long
3m wide
3m tall
No shields
16cm Evo-Adamantium Plating (380 ‘DP’)
19cm Cannon (AoE or Single Target, AoE 250 ‘DP’, Single Target 400 ‘DP’ )Effective range of 6.2km
No ECM’s
Optical Rangefinders
Enclosed
92 km/ph

Command APC: Designed to be easily transported inside a ‘Storm’ Dropship the ‘CAP’ can house a full squad of marines in complete safety. The CAP is armed with a light machine gun, allowing it to dissuade many attacks.

Driver Piloted

24m long
8m wide
5.2m tall
No shields
29cm Evo-Adamantium Plating (755 ‘DP’)
Light Machine Gun (Slight AoE, 5 ‘DP’ per round )
Effective range of 110m
Standard ECM’s (35% reduction to opposing Sensors within a 40km radius. 10% reduction to allied sensors.)
Standard Radar and Infrared Sensors (45km land, 250km air)
Advanced Motion Sensors (22 km)
Enclosed
41 km/ph

Air Vehicles

‘Storm’ Dropship: The ‘Storm’ is a new TCA Landing Ship that utilizes a part-fighter design, with a interior cargo bay capable of off-loading a Command APC or any other vehicle of a similar size, the Storm is also packing a pair of unguided rocket pods and Autocannons, giving it a significant punch.

Pilot Operated

25m long
45m wide
20m tall
Medium ‘Plus’ Shields (1000 ‘DP’)
Recharges 8% per second
22cm Aldite Plating (1200 ‘DP’)
2x Autocannon (Slight AoE, 20 ‘DP’)
2x UG Rocket Pods (AoE, 750 ‘DP’)
Effective range of 900m (AC)
Effective range of 1850m (RP)
Standard ECMs (20%)
Standard Radar and Infrared Sensors (290km)
Enclosed
510 km/ph

Weaponry

Weapons are still ballistics-based for ground forces, so there will not be any plasma or energy-based...yet. If this gets implemented, Sometime along the storyline, plasma and energy-based weaponry will be available to ground forces, but now it is only restricted to space warfare.

And since we are on the subject of weaponry, characters can only carry up to 2 to 3 weapons at any one time. One as the primary weapon, another as a secondary, and the third will be a melee based weapon, assuming that a character is a marine. If not, then they may only be able to carry 2 weapons.

Side Notes

Does this better suit the tastes for a space rp other than something based on Halo?

It sounds better than the last one, could actually be kinda cool...

I'll be perfectly honest with you though... I highly suggest taking this, revising it, making it not Halo, but for all it matters something similar, just because it becomes far more flexible, and then focusing on the colonization and exploration aspect of it, which I find really interesting and unique.

You posted a lot of history... which I didn't read, but not many particulars about the roleplay itself. You should do that. It will definitely give us a better idea of what to expect. :)

Gl!

After you post some more details on the roleplay and not history, I will definitely give it some hearty consideration (even though I already am), I would just like to see you do something original. Its good for the soul to have your own story and not just use someone elses'. At least in my opinion.

Btw, I totally have dibs on pilot.

I'm just not very enthusiastic about the Halo universe. It's not my thing, and I can't really see myself RPing in it.

I just revamped the idea. I took Feather's advice, and steered away from the Haloverse, for once.

Now it reminds me of Mass Effect and Half Life combined. But its sounds better without Halo.

How does that work I wonder, as I never got to play either one of them. Is that good or bad?

The history does feel a little like Mass Effect! lol But, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

One thing you might want to add is how the roleplay will be conducted. :) You have good information up there, but what will be going on is one of the most important things, otherwise, I like it quite a bit more than before. I would probably participate if you got it off the ground.

You may have taken out the deeper Halo element but your work is still rife with pointers. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But I feel this is too directed for me ATM.

You know what you should try, that would give you more of a balance so your not leaning so hard on sci-fi elements? Try something modern or go into a fantasy setting. I think you could grow from the perspective change. To put all your eggs in one basket really isn't a good thing. If you just want to do this type then that's fine too. But, as a RP writer, it's always good to be well rounded.

Added in how this rp would be conducted, hopefully this is what Feather wanted to see. As for Ultimus, there also needs to be a good starting point for me to get back into RPing, since sci-fi is actually one of my stronger suits, when compared to modern and fantasy. I might be working on one of those next, after this one hopefully gets off the ground.

As for me, Future/Modern RPs are my stronger suit also. So, RTM has my approval on it, but I don't think that really counts. Lets wait for Crimmy/Scorp :3
