Name: Miyamoto Hikaru Alias/Nicknames/Monikers: Hika-chan(she hates this one), Church dog Gender: Female Age: 17 Faction: The Holy Church -- Assembly of the 8th Sacrament Alignment: True Neutral Location/Appearance of Magic Crest: N/A Elemental Affinity: N/A Origin: Accept/Reject Laugh: Eeehahahaha Theme Music: [Doctor Who Series 5 - Every Star Every Planet - Murray Gold] Equipment: Apocryphas //Saint's Ashes// A Conceptual Weapon representing “Self”. In its' default form, Saint's Ashes were simply a pile of ash, but it changes it's form under different users. There were reports of it becoming gum, sand, rocks or even oil. How this correlates to its' user remains to be seen. In Hikaru's possession, the ash becomes metal dust. Hikaru remotely controls every single particle of the Apocrypha, creating a dust storm that is capable of cutting through the hardest natural metal on the planet. Saint's Ashes has a secondary use. As it reflects its owner, it also capable of taking their form. Hence it is somewhat like a portable doll. It could carry out its' wielders day-to-day activities with no difference, but when presented with unnatural circumstances, it will not deviate from its' normal program unless ordered beforehand, or controlled manually via connection to its wielder. When this form is destroyed, the Apocrypha returns to its' natural state and returns to the user. //Sacred Heart// An Apocrypha that was once used by Hikaru's friend, Makina. It represents “Will”. The power and magnitude of the Apocrypha depends on the willpower of the user. It comes in the form of a pair of red and black biker gloves. When activated, it covers the user in a glowing bluish-white flame, the more determine the user is the height and rage of the flame increases. It unleashes a line of fire of the same colour that spreads to the side at the near end. From a bird's eye view, the attack looks like a flaming cross. It has protective properties from external mental interferences. Burial Cloth //Oran's Burial Cloth// A burial cloth capable of camouflaging something odd one out of a group by suppressing the wearer's out of the ordinary presence, and blends them with the beings around them. There more populated the area with the same being is, the better the camouflage works, and less there are, the disguise will falter. Mystic Code //Quantum Pen// An Mystic made from Hikaru's Origin: Accept and Reject, in the unlikely form of a fountain pen with a laser light. In Accept mode, the pen flashes a blue light. Where ever Hikaru points, she could insert an additional concept to some other object, such as “Hole” in a wall, or change the state of a concept, such as “Unlock” on locked doors. In Reject mode, the pen's laser light changes to red. The effect changes to creating a black hole that sucks in the target concept, and banishes it from space-time continuum. The 'inkwell'(not exactly a real pen) contains Hikaru's blood. Black Keys Holy Water Bibles Heat Sensor Night Vision Goggles Pistols/Heavy Duty Guns Grenades Flash Bombs Silver Ammunition Gas Mask Sleeping Gas Poison Gas Specific Spells/Proficiencies: Psychic Ability: Electricity Hikaru is born with psychic ability to control static electricity. It was underdeveloped as a child, the only thing it really do was giving her enhanced senses through her nerves, which partially contributed to her anti-social behaviour. It was only after joining the Church when she finally learned how to control it. On most occasions, Hikaru acts as a conduct by touching her target and thereby electrocuting them. She could also store energy inside her body and increase her physical potential, or slow her bodily functions. Apart from those inside her, Hikaru is able to manipulate external electricity, and change their charges to create a magnetic field. She has been known to channel electricity through her Apocrypha, Saint's Ashes. Reinforcement Like all Executor's, Hikaru body is reinforced, exceeding her capabilities far more that of a normal human. And like her peers, Hikaru is well-verse in hand to hand combat. Divine Intervention Purification Incantations A simple ritual that exorcises Devils and Wraiths from the physical plane. Capable of overwhelming other known spiritual bodies as well, unless they are Servants. Purify Purifies any poison or infection, whether by thaumaturgy or mundane origin. Banish Banishes ghosts or spirits from possessing a body. White Hand A standard healing spell used by most members of the Church. A white light glows on the palm of the caster when it's used, hence the name. Heals wounds and injuries, even internal bleeding and broken bones. Protective Spirit Usually applied before battle. Protective Spirits gives the caster temporary immunity towards thaumaturgy and physical attacks, but expires after several successions of attacks. Regenerative Spirit Often used in conjunction to Protective Spirit. After the former effect wears off, Regenerative Spirit heals the caster's wounds while in the midst of battle. Like PS, it has a limited duration. Reflective Barrier Reflects thaumaturgy attacks back towards the opponent. Cremation Sacrement A spell sigil engraved in Black Keys, so that they burn the target which they pierce. Prayer A basic ritual done by all who belong to the Church. Its effects vary from person to person and the wish in question. In Hikaru's case, for as long as she held a silent prayer everyday, her life had been spared several times over the course of her career as Executor. In-game, this works in conjunction with Fate point usage, in the aspect of making her survived state fare better. Only works once per day. Number of Magic Circuits: 25 Physical Appearance: Hikaru looks a little young for her age. Often mistaken for a middle-schooler instead of a high school student. It didn't help that she likes to wear bright coloured hair clips on her blue-black hair, mismatched with a pair of thick black rimmed glasses over her equally black eyes. Her height amplified the effect, being only 154cm tall. When not in uniform, Hikaru wears frilly, pastel blouses and skirts with high stockings. This is a contrast to her Executor uniform, a solid black suit with a silver lined, dark grey trenchcoat. Mental Traits: God has dictated that anyone with superior intelligence must have an eccentric and annoying-to-others personality. Like every recorded genius, Hikaru has her quirks which her fellow acquaintances feel that they would like to shove her out of the window at some point. She has the energy of a Jack Russell Terrier, never seem to be able to sit still for periods longer than a couple of minutes, and talking at a rate as if her lips could not catch up with her brain. Hikaru has little regards towards social graces, which is offensive towards most of the Japanese society. Her ignorance over social and cultural boundaries have been seen to be a fluke, as Hikaru had followed them when situation calls for it, such as not hopping around in church and when meeting superiors. It even extends to her ordinary high school student persona, being a quiet, dorky and meek girl, which astounded most her acquaintances who knew her from both school and Church. In the past, Hikaru used to have a more stoic characteristic, which surfaces every now and then when things get stressful. Emotions never come easy for the young Executor, whether when acting as an extrovert or introvert. At times, emotions run in the background, while logic takes the driving seat. While it is an asset for her progress as an agent of the Church, Hikaru doesn't like to be seen as an emotionally distant person. Backstory: Ten years ago, before the birth of Hikaru; her father, Miyamoto Akira was a youth freshly graduated from high school, and started his first year as medical student of the prestigious Todai University in Tokyo. It was not surprising for someone of his background. His family runs a private of hospital in his hometown, Fuyuki City, and as the eldest son and presumed heir to the hospital, it was for certain that Akira would have followed his fathers footsteps. During his studies, he met a young woman named Lina Chang, who was language student. They fell in love. Akira's parents were vehemently against the union, as a foreign woman without any influential background would be unfit as the marital partner of their family's heir. It came to a surprise when their quiet son rebelled his parents' wishes, by moving to Tokyo and married his love. Needless to say, he was disowned by his father. Many years later, the couple had thrived in the big city even without the support of Akira's wealthy family. Both had jobs to help them get by, and eventually bought a house through mortgage. Several years after, they had their first and only child, Hikaru. Hikaru was strange as a child. She showed signs of intelligence that surpasses any child of her age, such as learning to speak and read at a faster rate, able to grasp concepts considered to be complicated for young children, such as math, easily. This blessing came with a curse. Hikaru did not behave like her peers. Rather than play, she'd stay in a corner with a blank look on her face; throw tantrums through violent means without warning, even hitting other children at kindergarten. A notable incident happened one day, when the teacher found the class rabbits dead in the field, with their innards laid neatly next to their bodies with wide gap wounds in the middle. The teachers soon determined Hikaru as the culprit. When questioned the reason for killing the rabbits, the child replied in an as-matter-a-fact tone, that she wanted to see what was inside the rabbits, as she had seen in her father's books. They summoned her parents, reprimanded them for being careless and neglecting in teaching their child ethics. They forbade her from ever returning to the kindergarten. After much discussion between her parents, Hikaru's mother quited her job to home school her. Her parents have always known her to be an odd child, but the incident came to them a surprise. They acknowledged that if left without help, Hikaru could grow to be an even more dangerous social misfit. Perhaps removing her from mainstream education, and teach the child with her own terms, would be something better. Because of this, Hikaru grew to bond strongly with her mother, which led to her being able to slowly grasp the feeling of others. Tragedy struck the small family when Akira died in an accident. Lina held out with their remaining savings for several months, but it soon became apparent that she was unable to take care of herself and raise her child(who was five years old then) at the same time. On one sunny morning, Hikaru's mother took her on board a train to Fuyuki City. Hikaru had never been out of Tokyo before. While Fuyuki was much smaller than Tokyo, Hikaru was nonetheless fascinated by the place, especially with the old Japanese and Western house at Miyamachou district. She was surprised when their taxi stopped at one of the latter type. It was the first time Hikaru ever met the paternal side of her family. And it was the last time she had seen her mother. While the Miyamotos did give Hikaru the best education as they had promised. However, most the family would rather if the child had not existed. Some feelings just never go away even with time. Hikaru tend to stay out of everyone's way, accepting herself as a stranger in the house and spent most of her time hiding in the library, where no would find her and make her life miserable. The only people that were welcoming towards her was her aunt Mai, wife of her father's second youngest brother, and their son, her cousin Toshiro. Mai was the first to reach out to Hikaru, despite her husband's disapproval. Hikaru and Toshiro's start was lukewarm at the beginning, partially because of Hikaru's reluctance to get involve with anyone. After a brief fight over meatballs and the prize ended up in the house dog's stomach, they became grudging friends, and were often seen playing(they'd rather the word competing) with each other. Toshiro had even came to Hikaru's defense, when their other cousins picked on her. Three years later, during one winter season, the family went off on a holiday in the snowy mountains. Hikaru and Toshiro went exploring in the bare forests nearby the cottage the Miyamotos owned, when all of the sudden, the clear sunny day took a abrupt change into a blizzard. Caught in the middle of the storm, the children were blinded and unable to find their way home. They were left to freeze to death. Hope was lost until Hikaru saw light coming through the darkness, and a voice speaking to her, calling out for her. It spoke of a contract: In exchange for their lives, she must serve the voice until her debt has been repaid. Hikaru wanted neither herself nor Toshiro to die, and without any alternative, she accepted it without hesitation. She woke to the white lights of a hospital, and a cast on her left leg. Her room was empty for a long time, save for a couple of nurses checking her every now and then. It wasn't a surprise to Hikaru at all that no one would visit her, but every time someone knocked on the door, she hope that Toshiro would pop in, and her Aunt Mai bringing her cooking. She waited and waited. Until eventually, Aunt Mai appeared with eyes red from crying too much. It took her a long time to answer Hikaru, when finally she announced that Toshiro had passed away due to hypothermia. It was then Hikaru realized, the contract meant only saving her life, but not her cousins. Since Toshiro's funeral, weird things started to happen in the Miyamoto mansion. Lights go out when they shouldn't, and when they come back, they sometimes blow up; electrical appliances short circuit on their own; false alarms go off so often that they drive people mad. It lasted for months until one of the other children pinpointed Hikaru as the source. The adults deemed her as a witch and called the priest from the church on the hill. Whether her fate was burning on a stake, or drown in a river, it wasn't their problem, so as long as she was gone. Aunt Mai didn't speak a word of defense for her. She didn't look at Hikaru, even when the child begged on her knees beside her chair. It exacerbated the situation to point the house was feeling like it was about to explode, if not for the timely arrival of Father Marrone. The priest calmed Hikaru down and declared that her powers weren't of thaumatury origin, so there would be no persecution upon her. More than that, he offered her a sanctuary, a place for her to feel safe and learn to control her gift. Since she was considered a freak among her relatives, Hikaru gladly went along. Time passed and it has been nine years since Father Marrone recruited Hikaru. During those eight years, she became the pupil of Evangeline Thompson, an Executor. Apart from learning holy spells and combat, Hikaru was exposed to scientific research belonging to the Church, via Thompson's husband who worked at the research facility. She also made several friends: Sasaki Kyouya, a boy who comes from a long line of holy warriors, considered to be the most talented among their generation until Hikaru came along, regarded her as his rival ever since; Haruma Mikan, a bubbly girl who loves pop culture and stars; Asano Shizuka, a senpai who is the cool head in the gang; and finally Akiyama Makina, an outgoing girl who managed to click with Hikaru, and drew her eccentric personality out. Life as an Executor had not been easy. Even before Hikaru had taken her vows, she had been told that once she was one, she could never go back to a normal life. An Executor is a soldier of God, and death comes easy to soldiers. Over the years, Hikaru had seen many faces who died in line of battle. She held no illusions that it wouldn't happen to her. Little was she aware that she would be chosen as one of the seven Masters, to fight in the deadliest war ever, for an artifact the Church had long sought...
