Lightening could be an aspect of specialization within wind...

Anywho...I'll try to get a writeup for the Mazie Party tommorrow.

Huh. Why does it have to be Air, Fire, Water and Earth? Fire and Water I can see as obvious, but Air and especially Earth seem kind of cliché in a bad way for "elements", considering that earth and rock and all that jazz aren't even one single homogenous entity (and the same thing for air, to a lesser extent).

Sorry, all that ranting basically just to say, Lightning doesn't have to be a "product of Wind" or anything like that. To me, electricity seems like a much purer element than "Earth", so why not use it for a character as their primary element if you feel like it? Doesn't look like anyone will mind either way.

I put them down just because its what I felt like putting. I dont care what people use as their elements. I went with generalized elements. Earth being all that earth encompasses, water for all that it contains, air for anything it might be connected to, and fire for w/e the hell you might go with.

Idk. Seems kinda reasonable to me.

So, in the end, we agree that it's no big deal and that he's free to make a char based off a lightning element. Yay!

Okay, onwards to what I was actually meaning to post.

For the family, the basic idea is that several brothers and one or two sisters, all without parents, and one of whom (one of the sisters) is married with children, are somewhat separated. At first, two of the brothers try to join the Akatsuki. This causes trouble in a small village where another clan had a particular claim. Shit happens, but they do manage to become vassals to the Clan and start learning from them and stuff, and maybe even do a bit of fighting against some

Throughout all that, their name gets discovered and leaked out, which in turn causes trouble for all their brothers and sisters (who conveniently all happen to be living in territories claimed by other clans, but nearby enough to flee to the Akatsuki once things heat up). The married sister in particular is extremely unhappy about this, and makes a fuss, but in the end can only rely on the protection of the Akatsuki clan for the sake of her children.

Oddly enough, the whole episode makes most of the brothers finally think that getting in a relationship might not be so bad after all -- they were all somewhat scarred by how devastated their father was when their mother was killed by the local lord for a ridiculously petty reason and eventually killed himself over it -- and then stuff starts happening and the family begins to expand.

Will post again once I've organized my ideas about abilities and stuff.

Idk if Im tired or not, or if that was so vaguely explained, but it totally made little sense. xD

So, basically, they are just a bunch of people causing unrest between various clans because they tried to join Akatsuki?

Sounds fine to me. Lol I don't really know much about the whole world yet, or what other clans or factions might be, but it makes sense. xD

Also... An amendment I suppose that I should add.

I would like everyone to make a family of Banshou for at least one clan to start with, then you can do w/e the hell you want, so that way at least everyone has something on the same level, if you get what I mean.

No, they're not causing unrest between various clans, they just basically get one clan angry at a village for whatever reason (like for helping the two brothers despite them being Akatsuki members or something). Events happen relating to that village, and eventually those two do end up solving the problem without the villagers dying (well, without too many of them dying, at any rate).

For the Banshou thing, you mean we should each create a family basically like the Shirokita that heads a clan all of their own? I find that a little bit too much =\ Still, I guess it's fine. Hell, I could probably use the same family and scenario, but with the two brothers creating a clan of their own instead, with very few changes and trouble. Except the mother wasn't executed by a local lord, but rather assassinated on that local lord's orders, and the father committed Seppuku because of the shame and dishonor of not being able to protect her from a threat as petty as that, or something. And boom, there you go, I have a Banshou family ^^

No, you should create a family that is part of one of the factions. Not leading a faction, but part of them, before deciding to create anything else to fill up the world.

Ok so we make up a samurai faction thing, and then do stuff with it. I take it we are making whole factions from scratch and controlling everyone in it ourselves? Sounds like a daunting task, but not one I am opposed to. I'll give it a try.
