The only thing I appreciated about halo was sticking those plasma nades to them little buggers and watching them run around screaming for dear life. I don't think I'd really enjoy a halo roleplay... sorry.

This is mostly going to be a PvP roleplay, with some PvE integrated into it. But the plot in mind would start out in one place, then possibly spread out between areas, with one group following a specific NPC, while another group follows a different NPC. That's what I have in mind, atleast.

Personally, I don't feel it. Back where I came from, things like this were outlawed. Mainly because they attracted AOLspeak retards who have no concept of what Role Play actually is and just want to re-inact their favorite game scenes. Now, I don't know if that is what would happen here. Or to doubt the person who put this forward.

But typically if you have a battle driven RP without very strict regulation and punishment for those who don't follow the outline people will run amok. And even then it's a pain in the ass to regulate and boot strapping people for not following the law of the RP gets boring and annoying after a while. I'm not saying it's a good idea, just that it's 10 times more work then a standard story driven or semi-story driven RP.

Now, you could rework it so that your plot was the key point. Leave your races and sub races, scrap the weapons crap and just give the time period in the world and if you cannot find it in your writing soul to scrap them, just describe them and 86 the stats. Granted what your proposing is very exciting, but there is no ground to your plot.

Reading this seems like all that is to be truly presented is an arena battle situation. The plot has a chance to be something really grand, but your cutting it off at the knees to make a game out of it. That's what detracts me, it's less of an RP and more of a game. It could also be likened to a D&D system, but doing battle play over and over again with no end in sight is boring. Balance, this does not seem to have.

I am sorry that it looks that way, and know that I am only telling you what I see. You can take it as a grain of salt if you wish.

I understand where you are coming from, but this is how the PvP going to work: The roleplayers would post up what happens from their point of view, but if it involves another person's character, they would have to follow "standard" ruling, i.e. asking for permission to use, no auto killing characters from opposing force, etc. And since I will have a moderator to co-GM, that would most likely remove the issue of those who break the rules. And I do respect Vani's way of doing things. If a person posts up an event that happens during their post, then others within the vicinity of the poster would include parts of that event, or what results from said event. Do you understand what I'm trying to get to with that?

What I am saying is that this kind of RP is not interesting to me. I gave a critque and it is within your choices to do as you like. It is your collection so you can do whatever you want. I understand what you are trying to say but the plot seems far too weak to keep my interests. It's a video game on the screen in letters.

I agree that it would be better if it were plot-based rather than game-based. Frankly, I've played too much Halo to actually make a game out of it on a computer screen. Doing a story-based rendition of Halo would be my goal if I joined. If it is designed that way, it is basically only a Halo-themed version of any other roleplay we have here, which is why we're here.

I bet if you labeled it as something other than "Halo" a ton of people would jump the gun on it. They all jump all over everything else anywhere close to the same theme. MW2 was similar in theme, just not made into a game before.
