Character Name: Phyche Armory Link: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Thaurissan&n=Phyche Stat consideration: I take a couple of key stats into consideration when looking for gear as a retribution paladin. The first stat I take into consideration is hit rating. A Ret Pally's hit cap is 263 hit rating which I am over by a big margin at the moment, seeing as no other gear has dropped for me to take that doesn't have hit rating on it. The next stat I take into consideration is Strength. Ret Paladins love strength! Especially when SoV is triple dipping into it. I then look for expertise. The expertise cap is 26 but thanks to the freaking awesome racials that humans have, mine is only 23, which makes it much easier to cap. This is important as it removes dodges from the table. Gems/Enchants: I chose these gems for a particular reason. I am currently using Inscribed Ametrine because with 2pc t9 it is a DPS gain to socket these if the socket bonus is +4 strengh or higher. Other than that, I gemmed a Nightmare Tear in a blue socket with the best socket bonus available to me to activate my meta gem. Other than that, I gem purely strength. All my enchants are up to scratch, I am exalted with Sons of Hodir and exalted with Knights of the Ebon Blade for shoulder/helm enchants. Class: Paladin Character Spec: Main spec: Retribution (11/5/55): I chose this spec for a few reasons. I went 11 points down the Holy tree because of Seals of the Pure, seeing as Seal of Vengeance is my primary DPS seal. I chose Aura Mastery because it's another raid utility seeing as Divine Sacrifice is more than useless now. Divine Strength explains itself, seeing as strength is our main stat. Righteous Vengeance (Warrior stealing is awesome) is also a great talent. With my current 2pc, it allows it to crit which makes a 2% DPS increase boost. Win? Major Glyph Choice [Retribution]: Glyph of Judgement, Glyph of Seal of Vengeance and Glyph of Consecration. I chose these glyphs because they are the main DPS glyphs for Retribution paladins. Glyph of Judgement gives a 10% damage increase to all judgements I do, and seeing as Judgement is my main DPS ability I would say it's pretty beneficial. Glyph of Seal of Vengeance is another great glyph, it allows me to reach expertise cap with ease. However, I usually carry around spare Glyph of Exorcism for occasions when I am way over expertise cap. Glyph of Consecration is great for my clash resolution and mana return. Minor Glyph Choice [Retribution]: Glyph of Sense Undead, Glyph of Blessing of Might and Glyph of the Wise. I chose these glyphs because... They were the only good ones there for DPS essentially. Glyph of Sense Undead allows me to increase my damage against Undead by 1% and seeing as ICC is full of things that are Undead I would say this glyph is pretty insane. I chose Glyph of Blessing of Might because it's nice to be able to solo without wasting reagents. Finally, I chose Glyph of the Wise so I can switch seals and get mana back if I am in a pickle. Rotation: My current rotation is: Judgement -> Hammer of Wrath -> Crusader Strike -> Divine Storm -> Consecrate -> Exorcism -> Holy Wrath. Once I have my 2pc 10, my rotation will chance to Judgement -> Divine Storm -> Hammer of Wrath -> Crusader Strike -> Consecrate > Exorcism > Holy Wrath. Real Life Age (16+): 17 Raids 8.30pm -11.30ST **Raids can go past scheduled times. Usually, invites will start at 8-15pm ST and pulling by 8.30ST. -Are you able to make these raid times (Server time: PST) Yes or No? I sure can! -What is your 25man raiding experience: Vanilla: I played in Vanilla, but I never reached level 60. ![]() TBC: Gruuls, Mag, TK (3/4), SSC (5/6), MH (4/5) and BT (8/9). WotLK: Naxx (15/15), Maly, OS +1, +2 and +3. Ulduar (13/14), ToTC (5/5). -Are you familiar with the content we will be raiding? I have raided most things on 10man such as ICC and ToTGC. But I am pretty confident in most 25 progression. -Do you have Ventrillo and a Mic? Yeah. -Why do you want to join Smashed Smashed has a great reputation among the alliance side and I wish to be in a 25man raiding guild that will see content. -Do you have a good grasp of your class? Have you read forums and done the research to ensure you play at the highest level? Could you give a brief explanation of you class role in a 25 man raiding environment? Hit things with my big sword till the green bar goes to 0%. -Do you use addons to help maximize your healing / dps? If so, which ones? Just Recount. -What are your past guilds and why did you leave? (please note if you are in ANY current guild) Perennial. I was an officer and we had trouble getting people online for 25 mans and were consistently running 10 mans. Our best wanted to be able to progress in 25 mans. -Do you have any relevant healing / dps meters you can link us to (screenshots of recount or w are acceptable) I linked it to Etiq. Ask him for more information. -Will you be able to maintain a MINIMUM of 80% raid attendance? Yep! -Will you come prepared to raids with appropiate consumables (food, flask etc)? I always come to a raid with 3 Flasks of Endless Rage and some Fish Feasts. I usually carry a Potion of Speed or two as well. -Do you ever have latency issues, or do you suffer from disconnects regularly? Not generally. -Do you ever suffer from unstable framerates that cause you to freeze or run in place? Nope. -Are you applying for any other guilds? Not at this moment in time. It's kind of rude to apply to more than one guild at once. -Who do you know in Smashed? Etiq Xeraha Rofladin Have you read: Smashed's Guild Charter Yep! The IMPORTANT QUESTIONS: Choose wisely. Pie or Cake? Pie imo. Are you a dramallama? Nah. |

Character Name: Uglykal Armory Link: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Thaurissan&n=Uglykal Currently playing on horde side although should I be accepted I will be transferring ASAP. You may notice that I have apparently not made my mind up with my gemming choices. My gems are based around my anticipated Needle Encrusted Scorpion trinket that I am still farming. I understand that in my gear armor penetration will add more DPS point for point than strength and plan to be soft capped as soon as I get my NES, if the gods of RNG ever let me have one! Class: Warrior Character Spec: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Thaurissan&cn=Uglykal&gn=Vitality 18/53/0 Fury. Fairly 'cookie-cutter' spec, I took all the obvious max DPS fury talents with the obligatory deep wounds and 2h weapon spec from arms. 'Optional' talent choices: -Heroic Fury: for greater mobility in fights such as Northrend Beasts and the add phase on Lady Deathwhisper. I also just love the charge mechanic, its the reason i rolled warrior in the first place. -Improved cleave: for AoE fights such as Anub'Arak, and pulling 8k DPS in heroics xD. -Booming voice/Commanding Presence: I am generally the one who maintains commanding shout in my guild raids and these talents are extremely useful for this purpose, and who can argue with more hp! I also have a well geared (mainly ilvl 245) prot offspec that I am happy to use occasionally when needed, however what I am really interested in is joining as a DPS, I just find it much more enjoyable. Real Life Age (16+):22 Raids 8.30pm -11.30ST **Raids can go past scheduled times. Usually, invites will start at 8-15pm ST and pulling by 8.30ST. -Are you able to make these raid times (Server time: PST) Yes or No? I am, and promise to make 100% of raids (bar emergencies and special occasions) with the exception of Sunday: For as long as I can remember my family has had a tradition of meeting every Sunday night at around 7pm for dinner. I am usually back between between 8pm and 9pm although occasionally I will get back rather late. In these cases I will know on the day and can advise an officer I will be unable to attend beforehand. What is your raiding experience: Vanilla: Completed everything but old Naxx at level 70 and 80, didn't play in vanilla unfortunately. Burning Crusade: Everything up to 7/9 BT and 4/5 Hyjal pre 3.0 nerfs. WoTLK: All the easy stuff, two achievements of my Rusted Proto Drake, uld10 clear, 12/14 25uld with FL+4 and Heartbreaker, 4/5 ToGC10 (sadly no 25 progression although I've experienced plenty of Beasts and Jaraxxus attempts) 5 bosses down in 10man ICC and 3 down in 25man, with plenty of experience on 25 Saurfang and 10man Rotface. Just to address my lack of hardmode experience: I am a very loyal, patient and friendly guild member and have a 'bad habit' of joining guilds and not wanting to leave them after making some friends. As fate would have it the guilds I joined were very easy to get along with but not very good =/. As a result I've experienced Ulduar and ToC/GC wipes (and some Icecrown) to the point where I know every fight mechanic inside and out. -Are you familiar with the content we will be raiding? Yes, and I always research new content as soon as I can, even if it is several bosses ahead of our current progression. -Do you have Ventrillo and a Mic? Sure do, and I don't hesitate to speak up when necessary. -Why do you want to join Smashed I wish to raid in a high calibre guild and contribute to the progression of Icecrown hard modes. Sadly I do not feel my previous guild is capable of downing Arthas, which I desperately want to do. -Do you have a good grasp of your class? Have you read forums and done the research to ensure you play at the highest level? Could you give a brief explanation of you class role in a 25 man raiding environment? I love the warrior class and am very experienced in all three specs, having spent a large portion of wrath as a Prot warrior main tanking Naxx, Ulduar and ToC and having a great time with the 'kill it before it kills you' play-style of arms PVP. The two roles of a fury warrior as I see it are: -Buffer/debuffer (depending on the make up of the raid), and of course -DPS Should there be a lack of a prot warrior in the raid, a fury warrior's most important job is to maintain sunder armor and demoralizing shout. As fury has a lot more free global cooldowns than arms it is much less of a dps loss for a fury warrior to maintain debuffs. I will typically prioritize sunder armor above all other spells when it needs stacking, assuming there are enough DPS to benefit from sacrificing my own DPS. Fury warrior 'rotation' is a priority system of WW > BT > slam procs, with heroic throw whenever everything else is down. Fury warriors must also maintain rage: maximizing rage usage while not risking becoming rage starved. I do this by spamming heroic strike (or cleave in aoe situations) as a rage dump when I have more than 60 rage. -Do you use addons to help maximize your healing / dps? If so, which ones? -What are your past guilds and why did you leave? (please note if you are in ANY current guild) After a brief break from WoW I leveled my warrior towards the end of BC and joined a guild called Colonial Icons at the beginning of Wrath. I had a great time farming 25Nax easy modes with them. However with the release of Ulduar guild progression struggled due having too many people who enjoyed standing in fires and generally poor attendance. By this time I was an officer leading my own 10 Ulduar group and had some very good friends in the guild, so I endured for about 4 months longer than I really wanted to, by which time I'd had enough and went on to join Egarden. Egarden had some much more skilled players and progressed quickly but also had a GM and raid leader who had some serious anger issues. I don't mind a bit of vent rage when it's warranted but this guy just took all the fun out of raiding...After a few weeks I Gquit and joined Vitality where I have been for the last few months. Up until today I was an officer in Vitality. Similar story to Colonial Icons really; good people, bad players. Again I have some great friends in Vitality and as such put up with the slow progression but I also had some issues with the GM that culminated in me Gquitting today, to find a new home. -Do you have any relevant healing / dps meters you can link us to (screenshots of recount or w are acceptable) No. Vitality does not use logs and I have no recent screen shots of my DPS. I will generally pull between 6k and 8k (spiking to 9-10k) DPS depending on buffs and the fight itself. -Will you be able to maintain a MINIMUM of 80% raid attendance? Yes -Will you come prepared to raids with appropriate consumables (food, flask etc)? Yes, I am always flasked for raids and do not rely on fish feasts for a food buff, as there are higher DPS options available. -Do you ever have latency issues, or do you suffer from disconnects regularly? No. -Do you ever suffer from unstable frame rates that cause you to freeze or run in place? No. -Are you applying for any other guilds? Not currently -Who do you know in Smashed? Sadly nobody..yet! Have you read: Smashed's Guild Charter Yes, and I agree and am happy to comply with everything i read. The IMPORTANT QUESTIONS: Choose wisely. Pie or Cake? I am tempted to say a chocolate mud cake (so disgustingly, fatteningly awesome) but the humble cake just does not have the same scope as a pie. A pie can be savoury, a main course, an entree, a desert, a snack, sweet, sour and everything in between. Where as a cake is just..sweet. What if I don't feel like something sweet!? WHAT THEN!?!? yeah i thought so... Vote pie! Are you a dramallama? HELL NO! "Seen mostly on video-games, this is an insult directed towards a player in substitute of the word "noob". Specifically, a "llama" is an individual who is so lame that he or she wears leather pants to the grocery store." I'd never wear leather pants... And honestly I hate anyone who causes drama just for the sake of it or because they didn't get that shiny purple they wanted. Loot should be an added bonus to raiding, not the reason for it. "you get epics to progress, you don't progress to get epics". Regards Uglykal |
