I dont really like having to worry about 2 pokemon on the field at once, but since they were occasional, it kinda kept it fresh. trying to manage 3 pokemon at a time while worrying about the enemy's 3 pokemon on the field sounds like a nightmare.

Besides, the one thing I hate about double battle (and now triple) is that if you're on your last pokemon you get bitch slapped by your opponents two pokemon and it becomes harder to win, as opposed to fighting one on one. Despite this, I still found double battles to be fun. But imagine you are on your last pokemon and you're against THREE of your opponent's pokemon. You're fucked. There's no two ways about it.
