Nickle's pod slid open and his eyes repeated the same motion. Slowly, the cord that had attached itself to the v-piece to allow the simulation to start had detached itself. Slolwly Nickle got up, rubbing his neck and letting his eyes blink themselves awake. He always felt really refreshed after being in there, despite having been in what was the most realistic gundam battle to date. Aside from actual gundams battling. He moved over to Ayane's capsule, Sakarako already there with the blue v-piece. Nickle took it, nodding to her to go and attend to the customers outside. Hitting the release button on the capsule, he looked down at Ayane smiling. She was still in shock over the whole thing. He slowly reached down and removed her green v-piece, taking it and putting it in his pocket. "Come on. Your fans are waiting. I want all my patrons to meet the new manager." Nickle left the v-piece near the pod, moving towards the door, "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. The whole match was televised. So be prepared to become a star." he smiled mischeviously, hoping that she wouldn't hate him too much for having done the act. |

When Nickle opened her pod, her mind was still transitioning. She probably had a stupid look on her face as her brain tried to remember how to apply muscle activity to her actual body instead of sending everything into the V-piece. When she felt the pressure of him removing the V-piece from her ear, though, she started recovering, blinking back into reality. "...Nickle...?" she asked, still unsure of exactly where she was. Wasn't she in Freedom? What happened...to... oh... the arcade!" "Come on. Your fans are waiting. I want all my patrons to meet the new manager," Nickle said with a beaming grin on his face, placing a blue-colored V-piece on the edge of the simulator pod. Ayane sluggishly sat up and reached over, grabbing the device and placing it where the green one had just been. At least that way she wouldn't knock it onto the floor when she swung her legs around to get down. Landing on the floor was a bit of an experience--it's not every day you have to remember how to walk--but she quickly recovered and followed Nickle to the door. At which point, what he had said finally was allowed to process. "My... fans? What fans?" The grin on his face was...actually somewhat scary. "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. The whole match was televised. So be prepared to become a star." And with that, he opened the door to the arcade itself. Ayane stood by his side, unable to move. Not because her mind had forgotten how to do it again, but rather because... ...well, she hadn't intended on tossed into this so deeply so quick! And...fans? Her face may have been one of shock, but somewhere in her mind, the thought of having 'fans' of her Gundam battle made her grin. |

As Nickle stepped out the door, sure that Ayane was still close behind him, the faces of those who had been watching looked to the sudden movement from the end of the arcade. Nickle could tell that all of this may be a rather large change for her, but he was sure she'd be able to handle it. But the main reason Nickle had made her assistant manager, was because he needed someone capable and responsible to watch the arcade while he began work on his new project from Engage Inc. If he could pull that off, he'd have it made. Soon, the mumblings from the fans and the pointing of fingers began. "Isn't that Mr. Ryuko?" "It looks like him, and isn't that the girl he was fighting?" "Yeah! She was awesome in the Freedom." As they entered the crowd, Nickle raised his hand to silence the natterings, "Everyone, what you just saw was the latest gaming experience. For the first time, I like to present the first actual Virtual Reality Pods, that will be available as of this moment! But before you start lining up to buy your tickets. I'd like as all to give a big round of applause to my new assistant manager, for helping me demonstrate the experience." Nickle turned to Ayane, with an appraising look, looking normal and not at all insanely happy like he had been before, "Let's all give her a round of applause!" The customers started clapping and cheering for Ayane, as Nickle stood there clapping and tipping her and approving nod. He had a feeling, she was going to do just fine. |

"Let's all give her a round of applause!" said Nickle, obviously proud of his new assistant manager. Hey, that's pretty cool. Wait.........Ayane.........ASSISTANT MANAGER!? Saito felt a smile creep across his face despite what this would probably mean to his quiet weekends playing Gundam at the arcade. After all, Ayane deserved the job after such an awesome battle and would probably be good for it with her no-nonsense attitude. Walking over to her, Saito held out his hand in congratulations. "Congrats on the new job. I saw the battle, ya know. It was really impressive, you've improved a lot since our last match." he said, grinning from ear to ear. "Looks like I'll have to be a lot nicer from now on, too. After all, you work here now." Still smiling, he turned his head towards Nickle. "How much is it for a game, anyway? It looks pretty fun." |

Ayane stepped out into a slightly uncomfortable atmosphere. Her body tensed and she could feel cold sweat forming; though it was probably cooler because her body had already been persperating from the simulated Gundam fight. What were they going to say? People were looking at her, pointing fingers... "...isn't that the girl he was fighting?" she made out from one voice in the crowd. "Yeah! She was awesome in the Freedom," came another voice. Her anxiety eased, blushing a bit with a slight smile. "Everyone, what you just saw was the latest gaming experience. For the first time, I like to present the first actual Virtual Reality Pods, that will be available as of this moment!" started Nickle, gesturing to the entire group as he spoke with that booming voice. Apparently that simulator was ready for the big-time! "But before you start lining up to buy your tickets. I'd like as all to give a big round of applause to my new assistant manager, for helping me demonstrate the experience." Ayane blinked back to attention as he turned and gave her a warm smile. Moments later the arcade burst into clapping, whistling and cheers. It was... a very different experience. She'd never been congratulated or appreciated by such a large number of people. It was...kinda embarrassing. She let her head droop a bit, staring at the floor instead of into the eyes of the crowd. Then a hand appeared in her vision, so she looked back up... at Saito Hiraga. "Congrats on the new job. I saw the battle, ya know. It was really impressive, you've improved a lot since our last match," he said with a huge grin on his face. "Looks like I'll have to be a lot nicer from now on, too. After all, you work here now." Ayane just grinned back and took his hand, shaking it firmly. "I look forward to your patronage," she said simply, then released his hand as he went to inquire about the game's play cost. Ayane scanned the crowd... then let her eyes wander to the arcade in general. Her arcade. She took a deep breath and let it out, then grinned and returned her attention to the crowd. "Ayane Isuzu, Assistant Manager, yoroshiku!" ...okay, it felt good. |

Nickle turned to face Saito, recognising him from before. He folded his arms, watching as the two spoke and when Saito enquired about the price to play, Nickle stuck up 4 of his fingers saying, "It's 40 Yen for an hour inside the game. A pair price don't you think?" he said smiling. "But we've got more than just Gundam, why not try give Hyakuji Smash Brothers a go? You can always select me as a character." Nickle flashed a grin, failing to mention that people such as Hiro Tsukasa, Mayu Kagono and Eiji Ishida were also selectable characters. When Ayane introduced herself to the crowd, the cheered at her again, "A-YA-NE! A-YA-NE! A-YA-NE!" Nickle then gently pulled her aside away from the mob that was now forming outside the VR Room, already overwhelming Chio and Aya. "Congrats Ayane. I'll leave you to supervise the customers now. I've got some paperwork and taxes I need to get done. But I'll check in every now and then." he laid a reassuring hand on her shoulder before making his way to the office, raising a hand up to wave goobye for the moment. |
