Powers/ Abilities:
Etherpomorphic Assimilation; A genetic trait, Etherpomorphic Assimilation is the direct imitation or transfer of the physical traits and properties of an object or substance to a specialized human cell.
Most commonly found in the human epidermal structure, rare samples have been found in almost all internal structures at a similar ratio of presence to adult stem cells. Notably, no adult stem cell samples have been found in subjects with Etherpomorphic Assimilation and it is theorized that the cells are developed in birth; ultimately replacing the stem cells of the original zygote. The specialized cells associated with Etherpomorphic Assimilation seem to maintain many characteristics of stem cells, both in their capability for rapid and seemingly limitless division, and capability to assume the specialized tasks of nearby cells. Because of their ready presence in the human epidermis Etherpomorphic Assimilation cells are being investigated as a replacement to stem cells, however, despite the ease of their harvest there is a lack of viable specimens to collect from. Scientists are also unclear of the conditions which trigger the development of Etherpomorphic Assimilation cells (EAc') though many theories exist.

Etherpomorphic Assimilation cells are motivated through direct contact with a substance or another affected cell, electro-nervous activity acts as the catalyst of the transfer. When triggered, the stimulated cells assume the physical properties of the contacting substance while maintaining their basic functionality.
This means, for example, that if a skin cell was to assume the physical properties of iron the cell would remain maluable and thusly not inhibit motion created through muscular exertion. Contrary to traditional scientific reasoning, this does not interfere with the cells retention of the substances qualities. The aforementioned cell would still gain the notable rigility of iron and be impenitrible to traditional needles. The circumstances of this phenomenon have not been fully evaluated, and modern medical science currently lacks the capabilities to definitively explain this duality.
It is worthy to note that the cells seem to gain all physical characteristics of the material, and not just the base properties. In studies, a test cell motivated to assume the properties of iron - though durable and rigid - was subject to deterioration through oxidation. In a similar experiment a test cell was motived to assume the properties of water. Though capable of fluid motion and distension to extreme proportions the cell was destroyed through crystallization when temperatures were dropped below -5 degrees.

The level to which hosts can control the capabilities of their EAc' is not fully understood, though subjects have demonstrated the ability to consciously and selectively choose the motivating substance and area of effect. It is worth note however, that tests have found extreme emotional distress can create an electro-nervous pattern similar to that used by subjects to control their EAc'. The result is the unintentional assimilation of properties of surrounding materials; though it seems all Etherpomorphic Assimilation cells assume the properties of the substance that maintains the largest area of contact to the subject. In one experiment, a subject unexpectedly assumed the physical properties of nylon across their entire body.

In tests it has been found that the utilization of Etherpomorphic Assimilation cells is physically and mentally straining on the subject, with strain varying based upon the complexity of the material and amount of the body undergoing assimilation. Subjects are often thirsty, famished and exhausted after use of their EAc', and prolonged use can lead to the temporary side effects of delirium, depression, and narcolepsy. Several subjects have fainted as results of strain, and two test subjects have perished following extended utilization of their EAc' with the aid of performance and other medications.

Like investigations into genetically occurring telekinetic powers, it has been found that EAc' can be exercised. Regular, controlled, use can lead to subjects being able to maintain utilization for longer periods than previously capable. There has also been found a direct relationships to the subjects overall health and their capability to utilize their EAc'. Physical strength also seems to positively effect EAc' capabilities, similarly, subjects with higher IQ test results have been found to have elevated control of their EAc'.

Personality Description:
A driven individual, Dominic is always utterly focused on his goals. Whether is is getting 1 billion points in Face Kicker Ten, scoring the game winning point in the big game, or making toast, when Dominic sets to a goal he pursues its completion obsessively. While this has lead him to star status on many sports teams and video games, his academic failures have created an apathetic and sarcastic nature which often pushes friends away.

Personal History:
Growing up in an utterly uninteresting town in the heart of Saskatchewan, Dominic's mother had died from complications during childbirth. His father, Micheal Shapestrong, had been a scientist of some renown in the field of genetic research. However, now, he was nothing more than a fugitive hiding from justice in the backwaters of Canada. Preforming illegal self experiments with a homemade chemistry set.

Micheal Shapestrong, in his younger years, had been the scientist who had discovered
Etherpomorphic Assimilation cells. With his team of other experts and the most modern of labs in the heart of Israel he was the contributing member to every major breakthrough relating to EAc. Though it was no secrete the only reason his lab was so well funded and able to operate outside the normal bounds of morality was because of the militarizes interest in the condition, Micheal fooled himself into believing that the good the research could do for the field of medicine justified the "tests". Under his watchful eye, no less than seven subjects died, including an infant, as a result of experiments he had composed. Every month he had to turn a blind eye as the military herded in "criminals" whose only crime was having been naturally born with EAc.

At home, Micheal lived the ideal life with his beautiful young wife Harmony. His research had made them rich, and they lived in easy comfort. However, the pristine perfection of his life outside of work only served to compound the moral pain of his research. Every day drove Micheal closer to his breaking point, but somehow he managed to hold on. It was a cycle that seemed capable of lasting forever, that was, until Harmony became pregnant.

Though normally a joyous and binding moment in any relationship, Micheal couldn't help but fear his child would be born with Etherpomorphic Assimilation. His team had still failed to discover what caused a person to be born with the condition, and research had shown that EA positive births were on the rise. Compounding matters, the research and the condition itself was top secret. Micheal could not even express to his wife his concern, and it soon began to drive a wedge between the couple.

His entire life quickly fell apart minutes after Harmony went into labor. While the couple was preparing to rush to the hospital, they barely heard the announcement on the television in the background. Mere minutes earlier, several bombs had gone off at local hospitals - presumably a terrorist attack. To make matters worse the news casters were saying all hospitals in the area were being closed and evacuated.

Panicking for but a moment, the couple quickly remembered a neighbor down the street whom worked a similar schedule to Micheal. The man was also an obstetric doctor. If anyone knew what to do, it would be him. Micheal wasted no time in fetching the doctor, and in moments, the birth was underway.

It was not an easy birth from the beginning, but it was no more difficult than was typical in Harmony's family. When their little baby boy, Dominic, was born nobody in the room could predict Harmony would shortly go into cardiac arrest. As Micheal cradled his new young baby, it all happened. The doctor did everything he could but unfortunately everything was not enough.

Struck into a stupor by the loss of his wife the young doctor of genetics didn't know what to do. It was the neighbor who made the phone calls and arrangements, while Micheal himself sat stupefied in a chair cradling the young Dominic. It was almost an unintended reflex for him to preform the EAc test on the newborn, a test which could only be administered shortly after birth while the child was still crying.

Rummaging through a pocket, Micheal retrieved a coin and pressed it firm but gently against the childs shoulder. Holding it there for a few seconds, he removed the coin and carefully felt with his fingers. The skin was cool, rigid... it felt almost exactly as the coin had. His own son had tested positive for EA. Micheal never truly explained what followed to Dominic, however, one could only assume it was horrible and inhuman.

The results of his fathers actions that following year earned him an exiled and hunted status, and converted his notes and files into the only reputable source of information on EAc'. For his first six years Dominic rarely spent more than a night in a single place. His childhood was marred by his fathers paranoia and the fear at any moment he would be shaken awake and dragged out a back door. Escaping from whatever invisible demons pursued his father.

Eventually they would come to rest in a backwater town deep in the heart of Canada, and here, for the first time Dominic was able to attend and complete his first year of school. Somewhere among the long days and freezing nights of the tundra, Dominic's father had found a long lost feeling of peace and security. Gradually, they both settled into their own routine. For Dominic, it was the average life of a seven year old boy. For his father, it was meager work as a supervisor in a manufacturing plant. However, each night after laying Dominic to bed, Micheal would disappear into their humble homes basement. The one place off-limits to Dominic.

So was his life for another uneventful three years. Dominic grew fond of sports and more aware of his physical state. With hard work, dedication, and the limited edition signed Total Gym he had received on his eighth birthday he made team captain on the schools hockey team. This helped prove to him his fathers words that, with hard work, anything is possible. For Micheal, good times had come for the factory and he was now overseeing both his old position and a new sister building being erected nearby. Of course, with a healthy raise in his salary.

For his tenth birthday Dominic was surprised to receive an old leather-bound book of considerable size. To him, the inside was filled with mostly jibberish and scientific drawings that he hardly understood; however Micheal insisted it would be very important for him, and so, Dominic filed it away in a safe place secretly wished he had gotten the Gamestation 4. It wouldn't be until he hit puberty at age 12 that he would finally come to understand just how important that old book could be.

During a particularly difficult science take-home exam, Dominic couldn't help but pound his desk in frustration. However, unlike every time before - this time hurt. Not only did it hurt, but his hand felt almost numb afterwards. When he inspected it, to his absolute horror, it felt cold and hard. Panicked, he sought out his father screaming the sky was falling and pasty white. To compound his horror, his father just responded with a malign chuckle and told him to get that dumb old book. How would a book help? Something was wrong with is hand! He needed help!

So it wasn't until Micheal forced Dominic to sit down and retrieved the volume himself that it suddenly began to unravel. His father explained to him, not unkindly, about Etherpomorphic Assimilation... even vaguely mentioning that the research was the reason they were where they were. It was certainly scary, however, with the help of his father Dominic slowly came to grips with his 'condition' and even how it could benefit him.

For the next three years that was the cycle between Dominic and his father. Dominic would go to school as normal, careful not to trigger his 'condition' and when he got home - after his homework of course - Micheal would explain some more of the research to him and help him exercise it. For Dominic, as exciting as it was, it became harder not to take advantage of all he could do. He simply could see so many applications in school, sports and general mischief. Day in and day out, his father made him swear not to do it in public.

Finally Dominic crossed the line as all children are apt to do. Having gotten into a fight with one of the school ruffians, he had used a nearby locker to turn his fist to iron. Resulting in a broken jaw and three broken ribs, Dominic swore up and down nobody saw him do it. Besides, he exercised enough 'everybody knew' he could of done it with his bare hands. Despite his best arguments, his father finally decided that Saskatchewan was not the place for young Dominic.

He had heard of a place where such abilities would hardly stand out, a school built almost specifically for such gifted children. There, he knew, Dominic could further his education without risk of being an outcast or drawing unwanted attention from unwanted governments.

Gifting him a special hand-made necklace, for "just in case", the two parted ways with a heart-filled goodbye at the airport. Micheal knew it was for the best, and Dominic could only help but believe his reassurances. After a short wait, Dominic stepped on his plane and was on his way to Shin Hyakuji High School.

RP Sample:
With a shrill howl the wind bit low through the trees, disturbing the leaves and branches of the still woods. Between the proud trunks of the mighty timber, a single column of twelve horses and riders marched. With each step, the horses hoofs dug into a freshly fallen powder with a soft crunch. At the front of the column, atop the solid black warhorse a man drew his cloak tighter with one hand and scratched behind the steeds ear with the other.

"Dmitri." the lead man barked over his shoulder "how much further must we suffer this before we can turn south?"

Startled as the voice broke the natural silence, the third rider in the column spurred his horse to a trot and moved up next to the first rider. Atop the white a brown steed was a strong looking man in his early twenties. Adorned only in black platemail with no extra protection against the elements, the mans long golden blond hair only accentuated how rosy his face was from the cold. Held firmly in his left hand, a spear stretched up with the trees. A green banner with a black sword upon it dancing in the breeze near the tip where it was tied.

"Another days ride atleast, Ser Lannister." Dmitri replied, pushing his hair from his eyes with his right hand. "We are yet to reach the second arch into the lake, and the woods have slowed our pace considerably."

With a deep sigh, the rider atop the black horse considered Dmitri thoughtfully from under his hood. Leaning his head back, the man gazed up through the tree tops at the grey sky. His hood sliding off and revealing the face of an older man, in his thirties, with long black hair and the beginnings of an unshaven beard.

"You really should wear a cloak Dmitri, before you die from this cold." the man said, gazing up at the clouds "We will continue until we reach the second arch, then we will make camp for the night."

"Yes Ser." Dmitri replied bowing his head respectfully "I will tell the others immediately Jaime."

Reigning his horse softly, Dmitri slowed his horse as to let the second man in column catch pace and began talking softly with him.

At the columns head, Jaime brought his attention off the gloomy grey skies back to the pure white powder ahead. Goings had been rough since they were forced to retreat from the battle. Twenty-three men had made the retreat with him, however they had been pursued almost immediately by a warband atleast eighty strong. For the first day they had managed to evade the forces and make their way south, however their pursuers were fresh troops from Central Alagaesia and had made lost time by marching at night. Which is exactly when they fell on the small twenty-three man party making camp for the night. It wasn't even so much a battle as it was a slaughter of his men. For the eleven Jaime had lost in that ambush they had only felled six before having to retreat.

Shaking his head with a harsh grunt, Jaime cast a glance to his right. Between the trees, the rolling snow-covered grasses of Northern Alagaesia and edge of the Isentar lake could still be seen. It was a beautiful sight, but a bitter one. Entering the Du Weldenvarden was a risk Jaime had taken to save his mens life. He had guessed the pursuing troops would be tired from marching the night, and would probably hesitate in pursuing the group into the woods. His gamble had paid off, the Central Alagaesian troops turning back almost immediately at the woods edge. However, the victory was turning sour rapidly. The cold and natural eeriness of the magical woods was wearing on himself and his men, and with each passing step Jaime urned more for his warmth manor nestled near the Feinster coast.

More than once Jaime had considered leaving the woods to ride at a gallop in the open by the lake, despite the almost daily scouts riding the path in search of survivors from Callibrax's army.

What would it matter if they got caught? His men were worth fifty of that bastard Rayner's best. A simple scout would merely be an afternoon exercise for them.

With another shake of his head, Jaime broke the hypnotic trance of the dull black waters and looked at the trail ahead. It would be a long days ride, at this pace.
