Hyakuji 2.0 Template Character Name: Norah Eliane Kennedy Gender: Female Age: 17 Height: 5’ 5” Weight: 135 lbs Description or Image of Character Appearance: ![]() (;O; I had to do the art myself… Nothing fit her!) Occupation: Student Grade Level: Senior Powers/ Abilities: One, and only one; but it breaks down: Shapeshift – Tier One It’s the start of her abilities, of course. Minor things fall under tier one, such as tweaks; add small horns, change hair color, switch her eye color, strengthen her nails into claws; etcetera. The list basically contains aesthetical changes. It only takes a moment for this power to manifest (and to unmanifest or become more prominent), and rarely causes pain. This ability is usually on, given she hides her mint green eyes, fangs, and pointed ears. Shapeshift – Tier Two This is a little more complex, and has to do with changing more predominately. Limbs, horns that can actually hurt someone, talons and claws that can tear skin, hooves that can knock the wind out of someone with the simplest of kicks. This also allows for skin thickening, lung capacity expansion (IE: for swimming), and highly improved hearing. She can keep going with these changes for a while, so long as she’s well fed. Upon performing this stage of the power, she will have a burning sensation that’ll last for half an hour. Like Tier One, when she wants to go back, she simply does, but her skin might or might not be reddish in the affected area. If she is coming from Tier Three to Tier Two, there is a twenty minute before she can shift to Tier One. Shapeshift – Tier Three Complete shapeshift into animals. Animals are easier; you don’t have to be so exact with them. Often, she changes into a dark brown wolf, or a bird of some sort. Other things like horses or mice have been witness as well, just whatever the situation requires. This stage is rather painful, and quite loud due to bone-popping shifts. She can only stay this way for an hour or so before she becomes weak. She can then revert to Tier Two if in crisis. Takes two to three minutes (one post) for the shapeshift to occur, two to three (one post) to shift down to Tier Two, five to eight minutes (two posts) to shift to Tier OMG, cannot shift to Tier Four or Tier One, and a five minute cool down. Shapeshift – Tier Four The copycat; human mimicry. Given enough time to study, she can mimic someone’s physical appearance and voice. She’s only able to copy aesthetics, obviously not abilities. This can be handy when needing information from other students related to the mimicked being. Once again, this is a bit painful (not as much as Tier Three, but still painful), and can take one to two posts, depending on how well she nailed it to start with, and then how complex the copied being is. She is only able to keep this for about thirty minutes before she automatically shifts down to Tier One (keeping extras like wings, horns, hair color, eye color, and skin color) which takes about two to three minutes (one post). She is usually very sleepy or hungry afterward. Shapeshift – Tier OMG This one… Well it’s only been recorded once ever; she ripped apart a few people and generally caused havoc. The one time she performed this act of insanity was two years ago, and she vowed never to do it again. The monster was around twenty feet, and an abomination of creatures. After she came out of it, she fell into a coma and did not awaken for two months. You won’t be seeing this anytime soon. To change into this, she must be Tier One, Two, or Three. From Tier Three the monster will mimic the creature she is currently in. (Example: if she is a dog, she will become a werewolf, ‘cept bigger.) This change usually takes two to three minutes from Tier One or Two, and barely one minute from Tier Three. Everything is accelerated, but at great cost; her health (although improved) takes a heavy hit, and usually sacrifices her sanity. In this form, everything is instinct, and every movement is painful, so she’s even more agitated than before she switched. It can take twenty minutes to slowly cool down, if she doesn’t faint first. Don’t expect her to wake up for a while… Equipment You Have: Apple iPod Nano with pink polka-dot hardcover, Skullcandy Pink Lowrider Headphones, Gibson Special Edition Robot Guitar in Purple Metallic, soft guitar case with padding, mail carrier style messenger bag adorned with pins. Residency Request: Yuki House Schedule: Homeroom: Hiro 1st: Music 2nd: History LUNCH 3rd: Supernatural Studies Personality Description: Norah looks like a typical teenage girl, that’s what she wants you to think. To those on the other side, she’s quiet and aloof, blending in was her priority. In the few circles of friends she has had, it seems this shapeshifter is an entirely different person; but is that so surprising? A little dash of sarcasm meets opinionated and stubborn, some curiosity and crude playfulness, and some mad doses of bravery and self reliance; you have the complicated mind of Norah. She’s many things, she can be many things, this is likely due to her abilities and reckless lifestyle. There is one thing anyone can rely on, she’s foolhardy when it comes to protecting those important to her. But, she is reckless as hell when it comes to herself, and most ponders that she has some sort of death wish. It’s obvious as blood on snow that she has some sort of dark secret she hates about herself. Well, wouldn’t you hate yourself too if you nearly killed your brother that you loved? Personal History: The Kennedys are just your traditional family. Mom, Dad, older brothers William and Killian, younger brother Thomas, Norah in the middle; it was normal. Nothing was strange; the family was middle class, in a nice neighborhood, just your stable, typical home and life. Her world was fine until Norah became a teenager, it seemed then everything unraveled. It wasn’t unusual for Norah to be bullied by the older girls; it’s a rite of passage in life. You push through these things, and become stronger. No one could imagine that Norah’s strength would come in the form of sharp, ebony claws and hard-as-cement hooves. It became nearly a weekly event for Norah to be picked on (“Freak!” “Weirdo!” “She’s so ugly, she has those…things.”), subsequently get into a cat fight, and then turn catty on them and tear away at their thin skins. By the end of the school year, Norah was expelled, and “all the little heathens needed nose jobs” (in her words). She drifted from school to school for another two semesters, and the worst imaginable happened. Norah attacked her own brother. It wasn’t intentional, but she hates herself for it. A sibling rivalry had roused, such happens of course, but Killian never planned on their little spat ending with him up against the wall, feet off the ground, and Norah’s claws digging slowly into his throat. William pulled the two apart, but the damage was done. Norah left the home five minutes later, disgusted with herself and her actions. During the summer she traveled, phasing through cities, trying to find a new home. As Norah traveled, she discovered more and more of her abilities; on a whim she could hide in the alley as a street cat, or fly the skies as a falcon (flying was a little tricky, but she has it down—sort’ve), and, eventually, turn into an orca and swim to Japan. Yes, to Japan. She figured it might be the best place to blend in, she would be mistaken as Otaku or just overly fangirl-ish if seen with any of her mutations. Within weeks of her arrival, she found out about Shin Hyajuki by following a strange demon man to there as a bird. For a day she watched the school from afar, and came to realize she had found her new home. Now, just to figure out how to fit in to society again… RP Sample: The Art of Flight It would be hard to discern what sort of bird she had become, but she figured it was something like a myna bird, white feathers, squished head, blue face… She had seen one of these on Wikipedia before. She was certain she had turned herself into a Myna bird. What a strange thing to pick. Not a Cardinal, or a Bluejay; a Myna bird. She felt so weak, so tiny and fragile. She lifted a wing and the breeze felt as though it was to blow her over. She did falter a little, but her claws were decently useful for hanging on to the fire escape rail. Deciding not to fly at the moment, she resorted to gazing around, seeing what she could see. On another rail was a rather imposing Common Raven, triple her size for sure. Norah turned away, hoping the larger bird didn’t notice her. However, it did, and easily glided and landed next to her. It apparently spotted the bug on her head, and snatched it off of her. Norah squawked and nearly toppled over once again, but she soon realized it was in pursuit of food, and she indeed wasn’t edible. As the raven swooped away, she studied carefully on its flight pattern, how the wings turn and flex in flight to adjust for the wind and altitudes as well as the direction they want to go. The Raven made it look so simple, so graceful and beautiful. How hard could it be? One good push made it clear; birds were made for flying, and it was much easier to do in reaction, not thought. She swirled around in circles, descending as she went until she figured out to tilt her wings back, and then she shot straight up like a rocket. Tucks and twirls, dives and swoops, she performed many aerial acrobatics known common by others of her current species. Norah flew until she felt as though she was comfortable with the new ability, and then made her way back to the abandoned apartment she called home. Landing wasn’t as easy as she proposed, and much like a Blue-Footed Booby, she crashed into the bottom grate instead. With the realization she was in perfect condition, she switched back to her true self, and went inside. Another day, another trick, and another thing learned. She could fly, and how many people on earth can say that? Mashed Potatoes? There is no spoon. (It's technically the 18th in my time zone) Edited by Nauticah, Oct 19 2008, 12:55 AM.
