The athletic field, a place where during the day, students ran laps, trained, and generally competed with each other. It was often filled with dozens of young people from various ages sweating, and working, trying to test themselves and improve on who they were. It was a place littered with athletic equipment, and polluted with the cheers and shouts of teams and coaches. But by night, it was a large open space, devoid of life and free of distraction. By night no one could find a reason to come out here. The track, open field, or even the bleachers seemed appealing to the students after dark. That's why Mia was here, to be alone, just for tonight.

The young Lamia had a problem. During the full moon her body did things, made her want things. It was hard for her. That's why she sought solitude, away from the others, away from the boys in particular. She gave a sigh as she slithered out into the open field. The grass was cool under her tummy, while the summer night air was still warm. It was nice, almost perfect conditions for her. She had on her skirt and her white shirt. over her arm was draped her blue school blazer.

Upon reaching the middle of the field she gently layed the blazer out, making a makeshift blanket out of the coat. Its pale blue contrasting sharply with the dark green of the grass. She had planned to spend a few hours out here, separating herself from her student counter parts in order to relax. With the blazer down she made several circles around it, coiling herself up neatly while allowing herself enough room to stretch out if she wanted. It was always a task for her to get comfy in the human world, everything was so small, and fitting was always a problem. She had been practicing it for so long now, that even when she had a big open field like this she still chose to remain as compact as comfortably possible.

Nikki layed in the grass, using one of her coils as a pillow to support her head so she could recline back a bit. With her eyes closed she stuck out her tongue, flicking it up and down for a moment and then retracting it in a flash to taste the sweet summer air. It was then that she noticed something was off, she was not alone.

Jack couldn't sleep whenever the full moon showed itself. The boy's instincts ran wild: aggression, hunger and all of his basest instincts went crazy under the light of the moon. Adrenaline ran like fire through his veins. This combined with the heightened emotions caused Jack to become very restless boy.

So it was due to these factors that lead Jack to the athletics field in the middle of the night. He was currently running laps in an effort to burn off excess energy. His silver bracelet tingled with every step. The metal suppressing his feral strength and senses. For all intents and purposes, he was a normal boy.

He was currently clan in a plain blue t-shirt and tracksuit leggings. He was sweating slightly from exertion and his breathing was slightly labored. But he still had energy to burn.

He had just finished several laps of the track when he noticed he was not alone. There was someone else present. A girl he faintly remembered. Curious as to what she was doing here at this hour, Jack walked over to her.

"What are you doing out here at this hour?" He asked, voice curious, but a note of caution to it.

A voice to accompany the scent. Nikki sat up suddenly, her back stiff as she peered out into the darkness. Her tail began to move, slowly at first, uncoiling on direction, and then speeding up as it began to coil again, pulling into her tighter allowing her to rise up higher. This had been her fault, she had assumed that no one was here. She had looked of course, but not well, somewhere out here was someone, and when she hadn't noticed them right away she dismissed the idea that anyone could be here. A simple assumption and now someone had caught her off guard yet again.

The Lamia's eye sight was no better than a humans, so she found difficulty spotting the figure as she peered in the direction the voice had come from. Her tongue flicked out excitedly as she tasted him on the air. He had asked what she was doing out here at this hour, not rudely, but still rather boldly. Her mind wanted to turn the question around, why was he here, but that might not be viewed favorably, so instead she answered politely. "I just needed some air..." As she spoke she managed to identify the individual. His name was Jack, another student she had met on her first day, He had surprised her then too.

She smiled as she lowered herself down to his height now and began to slowly slither towards him, picking up her blazer with the tip of her tail as she did."Jack?!... Well I can honestly say I didn't expect to find you out here." Her voice was soft and almost flirty, a trick of the moon maybe? "What brings you out here so late?" She asked tilting her head to the side with a slight smile.

Jack could understand the desire for some air. Being surrounded by a bunch of teenagers all day played havoc with his sensitive nose. It was not uncommon for him to go to a more secluded area where the air was cleaner in order to clear his head.

"It's Nikki right?" He replied, hoping that he got the name correctly. His social experience wasn't high enough to recognize that the tone of voice the girl had could be considered flirty. Nor did he react to her moving closer to him.

She asked him why he was here. A fair enough question, Jack had done the same. "I get very restless when the moon is full." He answered honestly. He didn't care much if the girl figured out he was a werewolf. He wasn't exactly subtle about it. "Figured I get out and run a few laps to burn off some energy." So far his attempted had worked, exercise mixed with some conversation had done wonders to tone down his aggression.

He turned away from Nikki for a moment, looking back at the track. "Might need to take a few more laps." He mused out loud. "I still got plenty of energy to burn."

Nikki widened her smile as he said her name. It was nice to be remembered, though even nicer to be called by her name as a pose to snake girl or something of the sort. She was however surprised by his statement of being restless during full moons. As far as she knew humans didn't have any problems with lunar cycles, though some preferred to be out and about. She continued to flick her tongue in and out curiously, this was after all he best sense. She could get more from smell and taste than she could from sight and sound. Right now she could smell sweat, meaning he had been out here running for a bit already. She could also pick up on some other things, pheromones, and such. The odd thing was that he didn't smell like a normal human, a minor detail, but one that excited her curiosity.

Nikki continued to move closer to him, and slowly began circling him. Her tail trailed off behind her creating a ring on the ground around him. He had been running and he still claimed to have energy, that was something quite amazing, or maybe it was her own surging hormones that made it seem that way at the moment. She smiled continuing to circle him, drawing closer with each lap, looking him over, as if sizing him up. "Ya know, it seems we have that in common.. about the moon I mean. It makes me restless too." Her voice trailed off as she spoke, she was close enough to touch him now, though she kept her hands to herself.

her smile twisted into a playful grin. his presence seemed to have kicked her into over drive as now the idea of simply laying in the grass seemed almost unreasonable. It was hard for her to explain, but she wanted to play now, to move, to be active. Part of her demanded physical contact, while part of her fought to keep control. There had to be a way to appease both sides of herself, get to be physical yet do so appropriately.

Who was she kidding? there was no way to be appropriate in the middle of the night alone at the track. There were just various levels of inappropriate. Nikki's body was behind him now and she reached out gently touching the center of Jacks back with her finger tips. "So how much energy you think you got left?"

He didn't react as the naga began circling him. The girl had yet to make any hostile moves. For all Jack could know, she was just being friendly. Jack would be the first to admit that he is very reckless. So he would wait and see what happens for now.

He kept his eyes on the girl's human half, noticing that he was now encircled in her tail. Worse comes to worse and the girl is hostile, Jack can just take off his bracelet and hope for the best. Hopefully his roommate Shin will hear the loud howling he usually makes and come to slap some silver on him.

It seems that he isn't the only one to be affected by the lunar cycle. That was nice to know, at least Jack would know someone who would understand his sudden change in mood when the sun went down."Does it now?" He mused, not flinching as the girl came within touching distance. He actually relaxed slightly. The smile the girl gave him was a playful one. A smile Jack himself had worn on many occasions. There was a rather high chance that she didn't have any ill intentions towards the lycan.

He didn't move as the girl brushed his back with her fingers. In fact he froze up slightly. He wasn't sure what to do in this situation. Jack had never received this kind of attention from the fairer sex before. So he was at a bit of a loss in how to respond. "Um... a fair bit. I'd still be able to run a good few more laps." He said, somewhat awkwardly. Not really sure as to why the girl asked him this, Jack posed the question out loud. "Why do you ask?"

Nikki didn't know what she was doing now. She was following her instincts, not that she had much of a choice. She could feel him freeze and tense up at her touch, an act that continued to add both to her personal satisfaction and to her smile. She held herself there a moment or two her finger tips gently pressed against him. She could feel the slight dampness in his shirt, which only supported her other senses in determining how much running he had been doing. She reached out now with her other hand placing it on his shoulder giving a small sigh as she did.

Nikki was never one to be shy in a normal scenario, but now during this time, many of the restraints that she once held seemed to be gone. Now she wanted to push him, to make him use some energy on her, to be handled and manipulated. Of course, a normal human would not stand much of a chance against her, not normally and especially not tonight. Of course this school had many abnormal students, and she was willing to bet that Jack was not as normal as he appeared.

"Jack... Yer not a human boy are you?" Her tongue flicked out at the last syllable giving her another taste of the air and the boy. Still not human in her mind, he lacked the plain human taste. "Not that that's a bad thing... In fact..." She moved closer to him now, pressing her torso up gently against his back. "It might be quite nice if you weren't." Her voice kicked up a little higher again in a more flirtatious note. She twisted around him again to his front, trailing her fingers across his back and over his shoulders as she did. Her eyes settled on his and she peered into them. The windows are the gateway to the soul, and now she wanted to see where his went.

Jack was a very confused werewolf at this point. He had no idea what to do in this situation. A rather attractive female was getting rather close to him. Before he had simply tensed up slightly. But now he was standing stock still. His inner beast had stopped bothering him at this point. It was being suppressed by a much more powerful force. Teenage hormones.

He didn't move as she rested herself against his back and let out a sigh. But a fair amount of blood was rushing to the boy's face, which was beet-red at the moment. And now the girl was pointing out that he was not human. "I..I..I'm not h..human. N...Not anymore." He stammered out, now very flustered. He froze up again as Nikki circled him, trailing a finger along his shoulder as she did so. His face somehow turning even more red, he met the girl's own red eyes. "I..I'm a werewolf."

*click*

That would be the sound both the naga and the werewolf would hear after Jack's little confession. If they looked towards the sound, they would see an orange-haired girl dressed in an old-time journalist outfit, complete with a digital camera. She was smiling widely at the two of them, having crept up on them from upwind. Damn, she must have been absurdly stealthy to get past Jack's hearing. That, or he was a distracted teenager in a hormonal situation.

But regardless, Lilica was there now to have some of her "fun". "Please, don't mind me," she said, her tone happy and cheerful as she blatantly interrupted their flirting. "I'm just here to capture another one of the Flirterer's wanton exploits. This is, what, number 10 now?"

The sound of a click broke the silence. While it wasn't loud by any normal standard, it was easily noticeable on a clear night like tonight. Nikki turned sharply on the spot, raising up a half a foot or so as she did. The many coils that had encircled Jack now pulled tighter so that they were almost touching him. She flicked her tongue into the air sniffing out the source of the sound, though it was made clear very quickly where it came from. There stood a girl dressed oddly and holding a camera. She had taken their picture.

The Lamia was unsure of how to respond or handle this. In many ways it had been an intrusion on what she was doing, but in others perhaps it had saved her from making a mistake. The new person seemed to be pleasant, as her expressions and tone suggested. Her words however suggested that perhaps this was not just a friendly encounter. Nikki continued to look at the woman, her mind racing, and then a thought occurred. She had just coaxed Jack into admitting he was a werewolf, what if that had been a secret, was this person allowed to know? She turned her head to look back at him searching for an expression that would have suggested that his secret had been revealed.

After a moment or two she looked back to the girl and spoke. "Exploits?" She asked a bit confused. This had been her second thought, was this some sort of trick that he did, meet new people on campus, follow them around, and then be there when they were vulnerable? To be fair it was her coming onto him, but was he here to try for that? "I don't believe we've met before... I'm Nikki, I think there might be a misunderstanding." She loosened her coils and began to slither towards the Lilica. She was not moving fast or in a manner that could be considered threatening, and in fact she was smiling pleasantly.

When he heard the click Jack whiled around, snarling at the interloper. His anger flared, his inner beast fanning their fire. While Jack was ignorant of what was happening, his inner beast knew what the situation was leading up to. Needless to say it was furious that Lilica killed the moment.

But now that Jack had a moment to clear his head, he noticed that Nikki had drawn her coils fairly close to him. He raised an eyebrow at that before turning his attention to Lilica. "Oh wonderful." He muttered. "Why couldn't it be the pirate instead?" At least that could have been solved with a few insults followed by fisticuffs.

He walked beside Nikki, keeping wary eye on the newcomer. "There are no exploits." He said evenly, trying to reassure Nikki that he wasn't a player. "This girl likes to mess with people." He nodded at Lilica. "And I can respect that. But we were having a conversation." The last bit about the interruption was mostly fueled by the boy's inner beast, growling at the fact that its host was denied something he was not aware of.

Lilica could probably pick it up from this distance. A wellspring of feral rage that was being empowered by the moonlight.

Lilica would make a quick hand motion as the other two talked, making the camera disappear in the process. To them, it would be like she used the good old stage magic slight-of-hand. But, of course, seeing as how literally no one at the school really knew about her illusions, that was to be expected. In fact, to most uneducated and uninitiated characters in Hyakuji, it would be easy to mistake her powers for reality bending.

Of course, whatever the characters thought of her powers, Lilica always used them to have fun. Like in this instance! So, ignoring Jack's comments, the Courtless Fae decided to start her latest story. Her smile faded, a look of concern replacing it. She would shake her head sadly at Nikki.

"Ooooooooh. I see now," the orange-haired girl would say, her voice sympathetic. "You must be new here, yes? So that means you wouldn't know his general tactics or his reputation..." The Fae would sigh heavily at that. "Oh, how worrying it must be, to be a pretty girl like you and taken advantage of by such a brutish predator in your time of longing!"

Nikki was amazed at how easily the girl made the camera disappear. Clearly she was a magician of some sort, or at least that's what she would think on the matter. Her tutors had shown her magicians before, as a reward. They had always been so mystical and enthralling, and since Nikki had loved the art of magic. Jack had also spoken up as he walked beside her, stating that there wee no exploits, and that this girl, was in fact just out to cause trouble. Nikki had no idea what might be going on here and so said nothing, not that she needed to say anything.

Moments later Lilica spoke up again. She spoke with sympathy, as if she knew of what she spoke first hand. Had Nikki really been caught up in some scam? She turned now looking at Jack with concern. and she came to a stop. She hesitated a moment or two before speaking again. "I'm not sure I understand what's going on.." she said quietly. This was hard enough for her to understand, just moments ago she was going to do unspeakable things with this stranger knowing full well he could be nothing more than a monster, but now that someone else had said something she felt almost used.

She gave a quiet sigh as she started up again, flicking her tongue out between her teeth to catch the smell of the air again. She could still smell Jack, his sweat, and pheromones. It still had an effect on her despite there current situation. At the end of the day would it even matter? She couldn't tell.

"You know about my kind and the full moon? our longing?" she asked the woman. Nikki's own naïve nature was winning now, as she suddenly felt closer to Lilica simply because she seemed to know what was going on. If she did understand Lamia biology then she could be here in Nikki's best interest, and if not, well there was no way to know just yet.

Jack let out a sigh as Nikki voiced her confusion. He then glared at Lilica. Angry at her for insinuating that he took advantage of girls. "She's messing with you, implying that I'm some kind of player." He turned and looked at Nikki. "I can tell you she's lying, Ask around, a lot of people would tell you otherwise." He thought of the few girls he knew who would back him up. Along with several guys.

He then turned his attention back to Lilica. "What part of your brain thought it was smart to antagonize a werewolf during the full moon?" He shrugged. "Keep it up. Lets see what happens."

Lilica would give the lamia a wan smile. Internally, however, she was squeeing with joy. Seriously, these characters were dancing to her tune so far! It was glorious~. Still, care had to be taken to make sure this went juuuussst right. If everything went right, she would be able to turn this blossoming love story into... Well, the story she was actually after right now.

"Indeed I do," she would say to Nikki, her tone one of pity. "That's why I took it into my heart to help you during this difficult time, so that you wouldn't be lead astray by his-"

It was at this point that Jack interjected his part, interrupting the Fae. Seriously, she couldn't have scripted this better herself! It was like they wanted to help her! She would simply shake her head once again, none of her actions betraying her inner mood. "Oh yes," she would say, her voice indignant. "She can ask the other people you've bullied into compliance. Can you see how he's threatening me now, dearie? The telltale actions of someone with something to hide!"
