"GET BACK HERE ALREADY." Serenity yelled in frustration as she continued running after a certain delinquent, she found this particular student using his aeromancy to blow up some of the female student's skirts. Whilst thankfully she had been spared from the embarrassment it was still against the rules and as a member of the Disciplinary Committee she had to make sure that he received the suitable punishment for his abuse of school rules and normal moral decency. Unfortunately the very aeromancy that the student in question had been using was also helping him in his escape, he was sending gusts of winds back to slow her down. Serenity still managed to keep him in line of sight, she wasn't about to let him get away from her. It would be a disgrace as a member of the Disciplinary Committee after all. The student was damned slippery Serenity had to give him that, whenever she thought she had managed to catch him he would evade her by inches. She felt like he had experience in running away from angry people before, it wouldn't be suprising if he was a repeat offender of breaking the rules. As the student in question continued creating distance on Serenity he took a moment to to turn around, his sight tore away from where he was running. He stuck his tongue out at Serenity and proceeded to taunt her. A vein appeared on Serenity's head. "WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU." She was not appreciating being mocked but it seemed like catching the boy in question bar some outside intervention was not seeming likely. |

It was an average day so far for Jack. That was a sign that the daily weird episode was yet to happen. He was currently walking along minding his own business munching on an apple when he heard a somewhat familiar female voice shout. "WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU." Ah, there we go. Time for today's daily dose of excitement. Jack raised an eyebrow at the sight. A familiar girl, Serenity he believed her name was, was chasing down an unfamiliar boy. Judging from the girl's tone of voice she did not have something pleasant in mind if she did catch him. He noticed the armband she was wearing. The armband that identified her as a member of the Disciplinary Committee. Jack began to put two and two together. The boy she was chasing was most likely a rule breaker of some sort. Jack himself wasn't a stickler for the rules. In fact he was the complete opposite. To him all rules did was restrain people. So the Lycan had a tendency to outright ignore most rules he disagreed with. This didn't make Jack a bad person. He would never go out of his way to harm people. He just found rules to be annoying and obstructive. Hoping that this boy actually did something worth punishing, and he was not a simple troublemaker. Jack waited until he got very close. He made no threatening moves or gave any indication that he planned to stop the boy. As soon as the boy got close enough, Jack's arm would lash out. Catching the boy with a devastating clothesline. The werewolf would then bring his arm downward in an attempt to slam the troublemaker into the ground and put him out of commission. |

Unfortunately for the boy due to him not paying attention he ran straight into Jack's clothesline followed by the other motion sending him flying into the ground and knocking him completely out cold. It seemed like he wasn't going to be moving any time soon which was both a positive and a negative for Serenity. "Damn it Argent." She spoke walking up to where he was along with her troublemaker, kneeling down to check if he was still alive she sighed. While she couldn't exactly fault Jack for helping her in the situation technically he did break a rule. "Did you have to knock him out cold?" She stood up, apparently satisfied that he was still alive but still slightly annoyed at the situation. She placed her hands on her hips before sighing. "At least you didn't outright kill him." She spoke annoyed, waiting to see how Jack would respond to his accusations. She wasn't about to drag him in to be punished since he assisted her but she could at least try to drill it through his thick skull to be a bit more careful around the place then he normally was. In her past few encounters with the lycan he had shown a lack of care for authority and a lack of subtlety, maybe she could get him to learn some from this situation. |

Jack just smiled when Serenity pointed out that he knocked the guy out. "What did you plan on doing to him? From your tone before it hardly sounded pleasant. Or did I misinterpret your tone of voice for when you were shouting about what you would do to him?" He gestured to the girl's gauntlets. " Were you going to give him a hug with those gauntlets of yours?" He shrugged. "At least my way was quick, clean and retentively painless. He'll just wake up with a bit of a headache." His eyebrows drew together in a facsimile of a frown, but his eyes still glimmered with amusement. "Don't tell me that you guys on the discipline committee can ignore certain rules and attack students when I can't do so to help out." He made a mock gasp. "That's it, isn't it. Helly and her cronies get special treatment." He threw his hands up into the air. "This is how it starts people!" He raised his voice. "At first it's only minor stuff but next thing you know, Helly and her cronies go full secret police on our asses. He began speaking a little louder, all in an effort to annoy Serenity. "And now we see the oppression inherent in the system. Come on everyone, come see the oppression inherent in the system." His little act finished, he nudged the unconscious body with his foot, taking another bite of his apple as he did so. "What did he do anyway? Late for class? Mouth off?" His face became one of mock horror. "Or perhaps the most heinous crime of all. Running in the hallways?" He was taking this situation far too lightly. Although his current objective was to get a rise out of Serenity. It gave him a warm fuzzy feeling inside when he riled up figures of authority. |

Serenity listened to Jack's rant, tapping her footon the ground and even mockingly looking at a non existent watch as he continued on his little act about how the authorities were bad and rules were bad and everything that they stood for were bad. It was a song and dance that she was really expecting from him and she had gotten use to that kind of method of annoyance due to her association with Gaius. She stopped tapping her foot when he seemed to finish his little act. "I was simply implying I would be taking him to a suitable teacher for a suitable punishment." Serenity smirked, she knew the exact words that she had said. She didn't specifically threaten him at all, for all anyone knows she could've followed that up with I'll give you flowers. "He was using his powers on school grounds, aeromancy to be exact." She spoke in a matter of fact tone ass she thought about how to deal with the situation and try to get the best result out of it. "He was using it on other students." Serenity honestly didn't think it was that horrible, as long as they still all had undergarments on it wasn't like it was a huge deal but she felt like it might've been a wise idea to keep the way it was used quiet for now. He'd probably find out soon enough anyways. Sighing she moved forward. "Can you give me a hand here please?" Carrying the guy would be difficult enough for her. While she was decently strong the infirmary was a bit of a distance away and Serenity wanted to continue talking to Jack, see if she could try to alter his behavior a small bit. "Y'know, since you knocked him out cold." She thought for a moment before trying to add a bribing factor in. "I'll shout you a drink for the assistance." She wasn't expecting Jack to help out of the goodness of his own heart, especially in the situation in question. |

Jack's face fell as Serenity refused to be riled up. "You're no fun." He moped, a childish pout on his face. He then leaned a bit closer to her. "Now why is that?" A note of curiosity in his voice. "Did you and Fun have a falling out in the past? Come home early one day from work to find Fun in bed with another woman?" He leaned back, out of immediate punching range. He was determined to get a least some kind of rise from the girl. He then shrugged as the girl stated what she intended to do with the boy if she caught him. "Sure as hell didn't sound like that." Of course the girl's shouting could just be a sign that she was very passionate about her job. He smirked when she told him that the boy was using his powers on school grounds. "Wow." He drawled. "Someone was using their supernatual powers in a school for superhumans? What a shocker." He didn't bat an eye when Serenity said that he had used it on other students. If the boy had actually attacked another student, Serenity would have been less angry that Jack had knocked him out. He also doubted that it would have been that easy to knock him out if the boy was indeed dangerous. He nodded when Serenity asked him to help her out. He had already intended to take the boy to the infirmary. He did knock the guy out after all. "Keep your drinks." He scoffed. "You don't need a reason to help someone." He hefted the boy over his shoulder and began to walk towards the infirmary. As he walked he would question Serenity. "So what's it like working for everyone's favourite walking tomato?" He started, referring to Heleth and hoping to at least get a laugh out of her. Edited by Epicjester, Aug 28 2014, 11:57 AM.

"In my line of work fun can get you killed." Serenity casually stated, when you were on a mission where you could die with a single misstep then you sometimes forgot how to have fun in it. Whilst working for the Disciplinary Committee was obviously not as dangerous as her job she still maintained the same professional disposition towards it as she did for her actual job. When Jack started being sarcastic about people using their powers on the school ground she sighed. It seemed like he didn't fathom the full problems with that, sometimes it was hard to understand why people didn't think everyone running around with their powers was a bad idea. She was admittedly a bit surprised that Jack offered to help regardless of whether or not she actually offered the drink. She was expecting him to whinge about having to help the people who made the rules and something along those lines. It was a nice surprise she had to admit, though she had already made the offer so he'd be getting a drink anyways. When he made the joke about the leader of the Disciplinary Committee Serenity frowned. "She may be a bit strict on the rules from time to time but ultimately she has good intentions about it." Serenity responded, from her small time working with Heleth it was pretty clear what her personality was like. "As long as you keep within the rules and don't waste her time you can get along perfectly fine with her." |

"Fun can get you killed eh? Tell that to your boyfriend. He seems to know how to enjoy himself." Jack assumed that Gaius was in the same line of work as the girl, whatever that was. They both arrived at around the same time. they spent a great deal of time together and they both seem to have combat experience. "Don't get me wrong, I know Helly has the best intentions." A smile broke out. "She just looks like someone who is easily flustered and therfore I'm going to tease and annoy her when I can." He paused for a moment before speaking up again. "I truly pity the man she ends up with." Mourning for whoever ends up with the red skinned tsundere. "And for the rules? Well lets take right now for example." He turned his head to look at her. "Me obeying the rules would have ended with me not interfering and leaving it to you. You would have continued your merry chase for quite a while from the looks of things." He turned his head back so it was facing forward. "Let me pose you a question Serenity? If I see some kid being roughed up in the hallway, am I to look for one of you guys and let the kid be hurt while I'm busy searching? Or should I do the moral thing and stop someone from getting hurt?" |

"He isn't my boyfriend." Serenity flatly stated, it was this sort of reason that she hated that he was ordered to come here. All of these assumptions were going to lead her to getting irritated over even if it wasn't really that big of a deal. When he pointed out that if it wasn't for him disobeying the rules then she wouldn't of been able to catch the boy she couldn't help but frown. "I'm sure if it continued then other members would've assisted me." She couldn't confirm that possibility but it wasn't impossible either so it wasn't like Jack could deny that happening. Listening to Jack's question Serenity smirked. "I'm sure you are capable of trying to talk the individual down. You seem to like your sharp tongue after all." She continued walking, there was more then one way of dealing with a situation and while she knew that simply talking wasn't always going to work it was better then jumping straight to fighting. "In contrast though, would you rather a world where there were no rules and innocents could be slaughtered without any punishment to the perpetrator?" If he wanted to get into a discussion she was willing to hold her own ground. |

"Sure he isn't." Jack gave Serenity a sly wink, not believing her and determined to get a rise. He now had the girl pegged as a possible tsundere. When Serenity suggested that he try and talk possible bullies down in the future, Jack frowned. "That might work on some people, but most bullies get their kicks out of hurting others." His eyes became tinged with gold and his voice became slightly tight with old bitter anger as the Lycan recalled his own bad experiences with bullies in the past before his transformation. "They would only back down against someone stronger than them." He recalled of what happened back in London when one of his old tormentors thought it would be smart to try and shake him down for money. Needless to say he was rather surprised when he found out that Jack could throw him across a room without much effort. After that, Jack never had to worry about being bullied ever again. Nobody was willing to lay a finger on the boy who could lift up a fully grown man by his neck. And now Serenity was asking him would he prefer a world without any rules. "I never said that rules were completely bad. Some I can agree with. But the system can be flawed at times. There are people who can do very unsavoury things but still be safe in the eyes of the law." He tilted his head to the side. "As for the world without rules? Well let me ask you a question. Do you believe that people would go around harming others if there were no consequences? Do you believe that human civilisation would collapse without rules? It would not." He shook his head. "That would never happen. Society would never had existed in the first place if most humans weren't inherently altruistic. I trust that people would do the right thing. They wouldn't need rules or laws to guide them into doing what's right. Innocents wouldn't be slaughtered, people wouldn't stand for it. Would you stand by while someone was being attacked in front of you?" " He chuckled. "I only disregard rules I view as obstructive. As you can see I have no problem wearing the uniform. But since I'm a bit sturdier than a normal human, I prefer to use windows as entrances and exits since they are faster. Other rules I will follow since they make sense to me." "So you'd prove yourself stronger then them by stooping to their level?" Serenity inquired when Jack voiced his disagreement with her proposal, it was to be fair completely understandable. She knew that most people wouldn't back down with just words but there was a thin line between being someone who was trying to help and becoming someone who abused their powers for the hell of it, to enforce what the believed in. When Jack voiced his opinion that society wouldn't collapse without rules Serenity shook her head, for the most part humanity were either a combination of to lazy or to proud to perform such acts she'd admit that was true. "I disagree with that. I've seen some real evil people during my work." People often didn't request to assassinate someone if the target was a perfectly good person. "People who kill and slaughter just for the fun of it just to cause chaos for the sake of chaos." She remembered several of her assassination requests across her career, these kind of situations often occurred due to the target's being super powered and abusing them. When Jack stated that he'd follow the rules as long as they didn't obstruct him Serenity sighed. "You say that now but what if a student was walking by when you used one. Not everyone is as durable as you." She pointed out, she couldn't comment on personal experience but she had a feeling that having someone fall on you from a large distance like that would be rather painful. "Or can you say that you can ensure that you'd never accidentally fall on someone?" She inquired, it was nice to have a good discussion like this. |

"I don't stoop to their level Serenity." Jack replied. "I would never harm someone who was defenceless and innocent. If I can I would use words, but some people only respond to force." He looked at her a slight frown on his face. "I don't enjoy hurting people. But is is sometimes necessary for the greater good of others." He went back to smiling. "Tau of Spock and all that." Jack raised an eyebrow when Serenity spoke about some of the people she met that were only interested in chaos. "Not going to make a comment that the non-human here has more faith in humanity than the human." Jack muttered loudly enough for Serenity to hear. "Yes there are some nasty people out there. But I believe that the vast majority would stand up against them. Have a bit of faith in your own species." And now she commented on his preference for windows and the risks that they had. "The same thing that stops me from hitting someone when I open a door. I keep my eyes open." He shrugged. "It helps that I can usually smell and hear people before I see them." He continued walking for a while before a thought struck him. "You mentioned that you had a line of work that had you meeting a lot of nasty people. What was your job?" He actually knew next to nothing about the girl apart from her first name. She was a mystery to him. And Jack liked solving mysteries. Edited by Epicjester, Aug 30 2014, 09:09 AM.

"If you say so." Serenity drolly stated, it seemed like this point she was conceding to Jack if only because she didn't want to argue over his frankly speaking self righteous beliefs about it. She wasn't expecting him to change on that point at the very least but still, she wasn't out of the argument yet. When he made the jab about her lack of humanity she simply sighed then replied. "If anything I think the fact that I am the human means I have more reason in my claim." She pointed out, it was all well and good to observe something when you were something else but you couldn't really truly experience it after all unless you were it. "That's a load of crap, people wouldn't intervene if it was at any risk to themselves or even any effort. Why do you think there are a ton of people crying out for world peace yet so few actually working towards it." Her voice was getting a bit more irritated, she disliked people who complained about situations but did nothing to solve them. "I'd have faith in them if they proved having faith was a reasonable idea." When he pointed out he could sense people before he jumped out the window Serenity shook her head. "That's not answering the question, I asked if you could ensure that you would not ever fall on someone due to that." She pointed out. "There are people with various powers that would render your senses useless in the situation in this place after all." It was then that Jack had inquired about her line of work, she sighed before she started to speak. "I'm effectively a mercenary for various jobs. Someone has a job that I'm okay with, I take it, do it and get paid for it." She smirked, she had a strange sort of pride in her job. "And if I say so, I'm good at it." |

Jack rolled his eyes at Serenity's tone. Fine then. Next time he sees someone who won't back down to words, he'll just walk away. Since fighting back and defending others is apparently a bad thing. And now she is stating that humans wouldn't do anything if it didn't concern them. "Fair enough." He said cheerfully. "Since you're so adamant on it. I'll give up my faith in the inherent goodness of humans. Hell, I might as well take up their attitude and not care about others." He turned to face her, a wide smile on his face. "Thanks for the advice Serenity. No more good samaritan." And now she commented on the windows. Jack sighed. "Can you guarantee that you wont get hit by a car when you cross the road? It can still happen even if you look both ways. What's to stop you from running into someone when you tun a corner? Unlike the rest of you hairless monkeys, I can smell and hear people from a fair distance away." He frowned. "Even if someone could obscure their presence. Why would they be doing it in the first place? People who have abilities like that don't go using them unless they don't want to be detected. It makes one wonder why they would be snooping around a school." He paused when Serenity told him she was a mercenary. Turning to her with an honestly shocked look on his face. "You're not even seventeen and you work as a mercenary." He turned back to facing forward, his jaw tight with anger. "Congrats Serenity. You've made me lose faith in people entirely. Since there are now child soldiers in the western world." |

Hearing his sarcasm over her own opinion of humanity Serenity couldn't help but sigh yet again, he had stated that he'd just give up on humanity after hearing her opinion. "That's a load of crap and you know it." She spoke bluntly, it seemed like it was going to take beating him around the head with a metaphorical baseball bat to get him to realize it. "You and I both know that you are ultimately a good person, unfortunately good can turn into bad quite easily." "And no, I can't guarantee anything. That's why I'm not god." Serenity pointed out, he was assuming that there was always a 100% certainty of something occurring but that was near impossible. Sure the odds could be tipped heavily in ones favor but there was always a chance no matter how slim for failure or a slip up. "And last time I checked you aren't a god either." She pointedly stated trying to drive home her meaning. "Admittedly that may have a more commonplace connotation." Serenity spoke when Jack should shock with her line of work. "Think less of hired soldiers and more of hired agents in general." She spoke before she began to list various jobs that she had been involved in. "Normally it's simple bodyguard duty but sometimes it gets even more mundane then that, one of my first jobs in Hyakuji was literally finding a missing cat." She spoke before facing Jack. "Besides, they gave me a reason to keep living. I'm thankful for that." She turned back and continued walking, her past beyond that night was a mystery even to her but she knew that if it wasn't for The Court picking her up she would've died. |
